Most Helpful Positive Review Absolutely Amazing!!!
I am someone who moisturizes my tattoos everyday to begin with. I have always wanted to try a moisturizer that is marketed specially for tattoos, so when I saw this while shopping I knew I had to have it. I love that it is all natural and petroleum free so that it won't suffocate the tattoo. It absorbs into the skin very nicely and leaves the tattoo feeling very soft. It instantly brought life back to my tattoo; the black was darker and more vibrant and I have a significant amount of white in my tattoo that became much clearer and vibrant once again. It looked as if it was brand new. I also applied some to my fathers 15+ year old tattoos and it instantly brought back a ton of depth and once again the black much darker. My one complaint is the fragrance, although it smells lovely, I'm not sure if I would want to heal a tattoo with this because of the scent, I feel it might cause irritation. I think a fragrance free option would be fantastic. I am very happy with this product and have also used it on my hands when they become dry. I will be buying more once I run out and am looking forward to trying other products by this brand.
Most Helpful Critical Review Does the job, but...
I will say, I like this more than petroleum (Vaseline, Aquaphor, Bag Balm, etc) products on my fresh tattoos. It keeps my fresh ink bright whilst preventing it from drying out and feeling tight. It helps with the swelling and inflammation.. so it does what it's intended purpose is. That being said, I took some stars off because no matter how little amount of product I get to work with and massage into the tat, this is a glorified, mango smelling coconut oil. It sticks to clothes just like petroleum, and stains like a white-sappy mark on your clothes. I wear ALL BLACK, every day, so you can see how this is a problem for me with regular usage. I've minimized using this at JUST nighttime before going to bed, and my husband and I both wake up with the stickiness all over us. I don't think I'll be repurchasing because this doesn't really suit me.

I love the mango smell of this product, and it did a great job protecting my new tattoo. This was my first tattoo, so I can't compare to other products, but it's been 2 weeks and it looks beautiful and has healed well. It didn't cause any staining on my clothes or bedsheets-a little bit of this stuff goes a long way. It also went on very smooth; I read a few reviews complaining that it was gritty, but that was not my experience at all.
Definitely Worth it!
Angie from ATL Georgia
This product was super helpful in the process of doing my tattoo, the healing process underneath sani-derm, and afterwards to keep it hydrated! I use it on all of my healed tattoos as well. It's definitely worth the price for its use.
Since it's basically like butter, you only need to use a small amount and once it touches your skin, it starts to melt just like butter. Do NOT overdo it! I've definitely taken too much, thinking my skin needed it and it was too potent. In that case, you'll look like you're slicked up with baby oil and so shiny (but very hydrated).
The only issue I had is that I've got animals in the house and their fur would stick to the healing tattoo with the 'butter on it because it's just so darn slick all the time. If you have animals in the house and you're gonna be sticking around while it absorbs in your skin, I recommend wearing a long sleeve to cover your arm to protect from the fur.
Overall, I would recommend this product to anyone. It's natural, you can READ the ingredients so you know what's in it, and you can feel the hydration just instantly revive your skin.
Perfect tattoo balm!
Abby from West Virginia
Bought this balm in-store after hearing very good things, and I am not disappointed. It keeps my new tatt protected, is non-comedogenic (so no clogged pores!), and it definitely keeps the skin moist. Also, it has a subtle tropical scent, not at all overpowering, which I LOVE!
To address the negative reviews I've seen saying it feels more like a sugar scrub than a balm, again I will reiterate that I bought my product in-store, so perhaps warehouse storage is an issue if ordered online?
Heals Palm Tattoos perfectly
Shanmacmua from Atlanta GA
I am healing with palm tattoo with this and it has done a wonderful job! Zero ink fallout, zero fading. Keeps my tattoo moisturized without being too greasy. Absolutely LOVE.

I was skeptical at first since aquaphor is cheap and Ive used this for years. I have new tattoos and the artist recommended this. Its vegan so no animal fat like other ointments. Smells literally amazing and soothes my new tats, old ones and dry skin. Will definitely be repurchasing

I just got my second tattoo and someone told me I should try this stuff. I really love it. It's SUPER thick, and a tiny bit really does go far. Added plus, it smells amazing. 10/10 do recommend.
Harder than I thought
Mel from Spokane, Wa
I'm not sure I get the hype. It does brighten the new tattoo and soften skin. But it's so thick and greasy it really reminds me of coconut oil.
I hope you don't have a cat or shedding dog because you'll be covered in their hair. I've been covering my new tattoo to keep from being covered in my cat's hair.
Not sure I'd recommend.
Wjyndigo from Alabama
This stuff is awesome. It really feels like I am putting butter on my skin, so may be heavy for some people. I have eczema as well and I like to use this for my dry patches. The smell is delicious! I have been using this with the Hustle Bubbles Deluxe cleanser that this brand has as my tattoo care regimen. I have been very happy with my healing tattoos. My jar has lasted a while and I will definitely repurchase again!

After fresh tattoo

I have always purchased from my tattoo shop and used this for all previous tattoos and love this brand. I am not sure if this issue is with the supplier or what. The consistency was rough like a sugar scrub, which is not at all how this product should be. It also irritated and made my new ink itchy and never fully moisturized it was very drying. Again this should never happen and all of this can damage your brand new ink. I recommend only purchasing this through a reputable tattoo shop.

Wow this stuff is amazing! Revived a couple dull tats I have and has smoothed the skin in some of my rough spots (elbows and knees). It is a heavier product, but it melts on the skin and smoothed easily without tugging or stretching. It takes a while to fully absorb, so I recommend doing this at least 20 mins before getting dressed so it has time to soak in. I love the light smell of this, too - nothing fake, just a natural lotion smell. I've seen a slight improvement in my tat pigmentation since using this, too. Love it!
Beautifulb13 from Oregon
The smell is so amazing ingredients are pure and works great on tattoos love it!
great except packaging
mallory from new jersey
I like this product because you only need to use a little bit and the container lasts a while. It also lasts a long time on the skin. Ive used other popular, fragrance free, drugstore brand lotions to heal tattoos before. And i would have to reapply them constantly. I do not have to do that with hustle butter. I think i apply it maybe 5 times total throughout the day (on a hand sized color tattoo). The only thing i dont like is the packaging. I dont like dipping my fingers into it because fresh tattoos need to be kept clean and i feel like this tub is a breeding ground for germs. I always clean my hands before using it, but lint has still made its way into the tub. (and i still have about 2/3 of it left)
I'll continue to buy this product

Love the fact that it doesn't smell medicated
I Would Buy This Product Again!

My Tattoo artist recommended this product. My tattoos look great and it helps make my skin soft. Reasonably priced. I was able to purchase at Ulta.
Does the job but…

This works well but it always feels greasy on my skin.
Amazing tattoo & skincare

Best product I have used for tattoos, before during & aftercare. keeps skin hydrated and soft, minimizes peeling & itchy skin. I use this for all of my tattoos (even after they are healed)
3rd time purchasing
Kat from Charlotte
I got a sample from my tattoo artist to help with my tattoo healing… however, I fell IN LOVE with how long it keeps my skin moisturized for. Also, it smells amazing. It's a little greasy at first but then it soaks into the skin and stays on for 8+ hours. I don't use it only for tattoos anymore, I use it all over my body because it moisturizes me to the gawdddsss
Oh. My. God.
BethVA from Virginia, USA
I got a tattoo when I was 18 (6 years ago) and it is faded and yuck after years in the sun and no sunscreen. It made it look SO hard and fresh. 100% must have if you're tattooed
Obviously a knock-off product sold by Ulta - Buyer Beware
Annoyed beyond belief. from US
I've used this before. It was thick and smooth (not really a butter, more viscous than creamy). But this version? Gritty. More like a sugar scrub than a lotion. And it doesn't melt or smooth into your skin. Just stays gritty no matter how much you massage it "in". Not real Hustle Butter but some horrible knock off being packaged and sold as Hustle Butter. For full price. Buyer beware!!
This stuff is amazing!!
Lyndz from Texas
I've had no problems with this at all! It keeps my tattoos looking amazing, stops the itching, and you only need a small amount.
Amazing and Nonsticky!
alolkoy from los angeles, ca
I saw a lot of reviews saying how it's really sticky, never dries, and shows up on black clothes but I just wanted to put in my two cents. A little bit of this stuff goes a long way so if you put just enough to cover each tattoo, it does "dry" (dry in the sense of like lotion becoming less tacky, but if you run your hand over it you can still tell it's there but it doesn't stick to clothes)
Silky Smooth with tropical smells, love it!
Country gurl from Walters ok
Love it! Highly recommended for DRY skin to give real moisture.
_lenaalexx from Burlington, nc
Used to heal my newest tattoo and virtually NO ITCHING! I feel like it helped a lot during the first week and my tattoo started flaking and doing all that fun stuff WITHOUT THE ITCH! Naturally throughout the day I needed to apply a little more, I did notice I slightly itchy-ness once the cream either rubbed off or absorbed but once I reapplied it was amazing. It does take awhile to sink in and since this tattoo is on my ankle/foot I tried to make sure I gave it a good amount of time to sink in as much as possible but I will be using this to heal all my future tattoos!
Stinging and bubbling tattoo
KJ from Minnesota
I applied this to a healing tattoo and almost instantly the tattoo starting stinging and bubbling. Ink was literally seeping out of my skin from this product. I washed it off right away because it was causing a burning sensation with redness around the tattoo. I'll be returning immediately
