I hardly ever do slick styles and always have my hair in twists, but this works very good both ways. It isn't the strongest gel, but it is the most smooth. Doesn't leave a crunch or white crust. Kind of watery but in a good way?

Holy Grail!

I have tried them ALL from Quidad/devacurl/ curlsmith/ Matrix. I've used the cheap drugstore brands and the overpriced brands like Oribe and I have never found anything like this. You do have to make sure that you work it into your hair so there aren't any clumps. I apply it to literally soaking wet dripping hair in sections and then brush through it to really smooth it out and then twist my curls. after my whole head is done I scrunch with a microfiber and then I add more to my hands and scrunch through the ends to make sure the towel didn't pull the product off. I then diffuse. I will say of you are air drying your curls this might be a little heavy and will lengthen your curls

Too heavy

I returned. Its way too heavy for low porosity hair. My curls sunk. Zero shape, could not hold any spiral. I had it recommended on an LP blog but it was an epic fail. My hairdresser looked at it and the CR milk thats big on the LP blogs and she said both wouldn't be good for LP hair based off of the main ingredients. Its too heavy. I think if you have type 3B or higher and its medium-high porosity it could be a good product. But for low P girls its a bad choice.

I have waves from 2A to 2C. I purchased this product about 8 months ago when I quit straightening my hair. I thought I needed a gel and was looking for something with hold. At first, I loved the way it clumped my waves, but it never gave me much hold, and my waves would fall flat throughout the day. I figured it was too heavy for my hair and stopped using it except on occasion when layering with other products just to switch up my routine. Fast forward to the past few weeks, I was trying to use up some of the bottles in my graveyard of hair products and started treating this product as a curl cream. The bottle actually doesn't say anywhere that it's a gel, but a "defining jelly," despite the listing of it being a gel on the Ulta website. I layer this jelly on top of a small amount of primer/detangler/leave-in conditioner and top it off with the Camille Rose spiked honey foam, and I am having the best hair days of my entire modified CG life! This gel has a very light, faint smell. The pump bottle is fantastic and makes it really easy to distribute on my hands. It gives my hair a nice slip and a little goes a long way. If you have this product and are disappointed in the lack of hold, try it as a curl cream!
