What was the reason for Mad Hippie to add Sweet Orange Oil in this Antioxidant Facial Oil? Which could cause photosensitivity in some people. So, why risk that possibility for some people just to have the product smell citrusy when it could have been left out. Thank you

- Official Answer By Mad HippieWe add just a hint of steam-distilled sweet orange or lime essential oils to some of our products for their natural antimicrobial benefits. We only use steam-distilled oils as this careful process removes bergapten, a sensitizing component of some essential oils. I've read that you can mix the Antioxidant oil with the Vit C serum. However, Vit C is my first step after cleansing so I can't mix it correct? I use a moisturizer last so do I mix with that?

If you are only using the Vitamin C Serum and Antioxidant Facial Oil, you can mix 2-3 drops of each in the palm of your hand, and then massage that blend into skin on your face and neck. If you also use a cream moisturizer, then the order of application would be Vitamin C Serum, moisturizer, Antioxidant Facial Oil. Our Antioxidant Facial Oil would be a good option for facial massage or gua sha (both tend to work better with products that have some slip to them to prevent stretching or pulling the skin). Skincare products should be applied from thinnest in consistency to thickest, with water-based products going on the skin before oil-based products. This helps ensure maximum efficacy and absorption of the products you use in your routines. Since our Antioxidant Facial Oil is oil-based, it should be applied as the last step in your routine (creams first, than oils). Hi there! I have maturing skin that is dehydrated on forehead but also prone to hormonal chin and jaw breakouts. Would the Mad Hippie Antioxidant oil act as my moisturizer providing enough hydration? In the AM would I use it with the Mad Hippie Vitamin C serum, followed by an SPF? Or would I need an additional cream moisturizer? Would it be the same for PM? Many thanks! Many thanks!

The Antioxidant Facial Oil is a non-comedogenic, hydrating blend of pomegranate seed oil and argan oil as well as lots of antioxidants and can be used as a stand alone moisturizer. You can also mix 2-4 drops with an equal amount of Vitamin C Serum in the palm of your hand and apply in one easy step for a boost in antioxidants and moisture - you can then follow with SPF. It can be used AM or PM. If you decide to use it with a cream, apply the cream first and then follow with the Antioxidant Facial Oil. My rosacea is just... gone now?!

It's pretty amazing that this oil blend reversed the symptoms of my lifelong rosacea. I have rosacea, and for decades have been embarrassed by any photo taken without foundation, due to my facial flush. "Oh did you just come in from the cold? Your cheeks are so rosy!" is a comment a coworker made once (I had not just come in from the cold.) I've tried prescription rosacea creams (they burned and made it worse), and green tinted coverup (jaundice look), and laser treatment. (It's been years since my last treatment, and it always comes back.) I don't ever do facials, I am incredibly choosy about what goes on my face, and don't exfoliate (rosacea: don't mess with it!). Then last week I realized that I don't have to wear foundation *at all* any more. And more shockingly, I can wear bright red lipstick now without it clashing with my whole face. The only thing I've done new, in these past years, is Mad Hippies Antioxidant Facial Oil. It's amazing stuff. No fragrance issues (I'm allergic to everything, such), no redness, fast absorption, and it works. I use a lot more of it than they recommend, and slather it on the backs of my hands, bosom, and neck as well - all the places where aging shows. It's not expensive, considering, and it's done incredible things for my skin. So there you have it, my experience has been really good!

I've used oils on my face for decades but things have changed as I age. I struggled with other serums, lotions and creams, and then I found this! My skin is so happy and I get asked all the time what I use. I'm happy to tell them it's the best!
my favorite oil production
my skin is combination and I worried this could lead to breakouts, but it has actually helped significantly reduce my breakouts. I even use a little under my eyes, careful not to get too close and it feels like my skin is so much smoother, more even. It can even be used under makeup. 10/10

I have combination skin. I use this product only at night as my last step after mosturizing. I wake up every morning and my skins looks INCREDIBLE. This product is literally a godsend. You only need a tiny amount, 2-3 drops goes a long way. This bottle lasts a long time too! HIGHLY recommend, this is a great product.
