What's the difference between the 239s shader brush and the 242s shader brush? I have both but am unsure which is better for application of mac paint pot (i use painterly as base primer) and top with darker shades in crease with either cream sticks or powdered shades (powders for nighttime looks when i want more intense colors). I have dry eyes and wear contacts so i have to choose my eyeshadow application carefully to keep my eyelid margins healthy.

- Official Answer By MACMAC 239 Synthetic Brush is perfect for more detailed shading of your cream or powder shadow as it has a slightly rounded edge and it's a smaller. It's perfect for detail mainly on the eyelid. MAC 242 Synthetic Brush is firm and rounded and smaller, almost like a concealer brush, and works very well with creams. For our Paint Pots out of all three definitely consider MAC 217 Synthetic Blending Brush as it's slightly more firm and amazing for buffing on creams and even our powder shadows!Was this answer helpful to you

I absolutely love this brush. It applies makeup with ease! The density of the bristles allows you to add the perfect amount of product, while the softness at the tip of the bristles allows you to blend effortlessly! There is never an issue with eye shadow "dust" that some brushes leave behind!
