Most Helpful Positive Review Works really well, for a great price!
I had been using the ABH Brow Wiz, which I love, but when I heard about this cheaper alternative, I decided to give it a try. I was not disappointed! This is a great dupe for the ABH Brow Wiz, and such a great bargain at $5! I will say I had to do a little research on the shade choices first, after reading the reviews about pigment issues and shades not being dark enough. I use Medium Brown in ABH, and was going to order the Colourpop Brow Boss in Brunette, but after seeing some swatch comparison pictures, I ordered Ash Brown. The Ash Brown on my looks very close to the ABH Medium Brown. If you are going to try this pencil, I would suggest researching the shades first, so you are not disappointed. I found this product very easy to apply, and did not have any issues with it being dry, as people had mentioned in other reviews. I apply using very little pressure compared to ABH, but can achieve the same brow coverage and look.
Most Helpful Critical Review Packaging sucks
I got my auburn brow pencil and was so excited, it matched better with my copper hair color, I used it almost every day for about two weeks. although I had to use a bit more pressure than I would with other brow pencils such as Anastasia, because it just wouldn't go on pigmented enough unless I did so. After about that 2 weeks the retractable part gave out a bit and wouldn't hold my product out anymore, so it kept sliding back in if I used any sort of pressure. That went on for a few days and then it completely broke and won't let me twist the product up at all anymore, meaning more than half of the product is stuck inside. It's a huge waist of product and I'm disappointed because of this.

I got the color soft brown and it is not pigmented at all it. I hoping it would be a good dupe to the benefit brow pencil. I tried to fill in my brows and nothing was coming off. No matter how much pressure you put, nothing will come off. Will be returning.
Barely Any Pigment
Sierra from Boise, ID
I bought this pencil in the taupe shade and was really excited to try it because it was such a great price and I've always loved ColourPop products. This one is a total flop however. I swatched the product on the back of my hand multiple times and barely anything came out. Will definitely be returning. 😢
Great for sketching, not finishing.

Skin type: oily
Skin color: light with yellow toning
Brow color: medium brown
I had been using a brow pencil from a different brand in a taupe but wanted something warmer so I bought "auburn". It is a very smooth formula, easy to glide across skin, and the twisting mechanism of the pencil works great. However, the color payoff is... not so great. It is an auburn color, too be sure, but it's far too light to truly fill in sparse brows or draw on hairless skin. It is not buildable. However, I have found use for it as a sketching tool to ensure my brows are even before comitting with a much more pigmented powder.
Colourpop usually has quality makeup at a price that can't be beaten, but this pencil doesn't shine like the others. What you get here is a cheap and lackluster product.
Alexis from Atlanta
I like this pencil! It is inexpensive and has great color payoff without being too harsh. I like to use it for the front of my brows since the tip is so thin
Hannah from Chicopee
Hardly any pigmentation. The tip is very thin tho. It is good for the front part of the brow. And very little product.
Love it !
Marissa from El Paso, TX
A friend had recommended this to me and I instantly fell in love!
It's okay. Mixed feelings.
Kahle from Maryland
I feel like this is a good pencil for a quick brow. It has a dryer and stiffer formula but you can work with it. Since it has this kind of formula the color doesn't always come off as pigmented as it could. You, of course, can warm it up on the back of your hand but I find that doesn't really work either. I don't hate it and it's okay for its price but you could get better for a couple dollars more.
I'd buy this every time!
Tina from Baton Rouge, LA
My friend told me about this brand and once I tried it, I fell in love. I have since purchased four (4) pencils to ensure I don't run out. They fill in my brows perfectly, precise and very natural.
Would put 0 stars if there was an option
Celeste from California
I love ColourPop's makeup, but man this brow pencil was garbage. There was no pigmentation at all and no matter how hard I pressed, no product would show. I was really disappointed that it didn't work since their products are usually really good.
Good price for a decent eyebrow pencil
Adri from San Jose
This eyebrow pencil does the job and looks really nice. I like the color and price. The downside is that it does come off if you rub your eyebrow or if you lay down on your bed/pillow. So just be mindful about it, but overall, it's decent for the price.
The product changed
Reenabobeena from Raleigh
I've used these for years. The product is different but I still love it. Cheap, easy to use, perfect color pigment.
Kiwi from USA
This has replaced my beloved Brow Wiz! Not only for the price point difference, but it applies almost identical! I do my eyebrows before foundation (if I even wear foundation) and that seems to help it not be so "slippery"? on your skin if that makes sense. A MUST HAVE in my collection, absolutely love it!
LILO from California
I have to press on my skin kind of hard to see any pay off but the taupe color looks very nice on every brow
Do not purchase
Lindsay from Dallas TX
sadly this is the worst brow pencil I've ever purchased. Literally no pigment even after digging into my brow so hard my foundation came off. Can't even get color when attempting to use it on my hand. I will be returning this.
Great Brow Pencil
Grace from TX
This is just a great everyday, no-fuss brow pencil. I got mine in the shade soft black and it's a perfect tone, not too weirdly warm but more neutral cool like a black brow pencil should be. Good formula, definitely on the waxier side, but I don't mind that.
Danielle F from Florida
My hair is very dark, but I have very thick eyebrows and do not like them as dark as my hair. This is a great neutral shade to give some more color and fullness in the sparse parts of my eyebrows without looking too much!
Not what I was expecting
Nina from Centennial, CO
So Iet me start off by saying that my favorite all time pencil for the brow is the NYX Micro brow pencil ... however I decided to step out of my comfort zone and try something new . As I was going down the aisles at my local Ulta I came across this colour pop micro pencil . I was so excited to try it out ! I threw one into my basket and headed home to do my makeup ! Let me tell you when I say I was so disappointed when I tried this product out ! No pigment ! Not creamy at all! It wasn't even showing up on my skin ! It was so dry ! I honestly don't know if it was a dud but I vaguely remember trying this out a couple years ago and having the same issue . I am not sure what the trick is for others who have used this and gotten great results but it shouldn't be so difficult to use ! I should simply be able to pop off the cap and just use it effortlessly !
Good product, packaging damaged it
Peachy from California
It seems to be a pretty decent brow pencil, but it got a little smushed by the packaging and doesn't work as well as it should. The color matches up with what I ordered and it makes my brows look good.
Alright if you have nothing else
Michelle from New Hampshire
This pencil didn't go on very easily, and I noticed the color was kind of spotty. It seemed to accumulate in tiny balls throughout the brow, and I couldn't get a well-defined line at the bottom of my brow. After only one use, the pencil broke off. I'll be returning this product, and wouldn't purchase again unless literally nothing else is available. It'll fill in your brow, but that's about it. Doesn't even compare to ABH.
Kim from Ohio
It works, I just prefer brow pencils that are a tad bit more creamy and pigmented. This would def work for someone who has bushier brows and doesn't need much pigment added. But for me? Not my fav, idk of mine was also old or defective but I'm gonna use it up!
Beth from Conway, Arkansas
Really love the fine point on this one and how affordable and the color options. I can match my natural brows or my dyed hair easily! I just hate the twist up action of the packaging, both of mine are very stiff.
Love! But theres a dupe.
Momo333 from Cali
If you use this pencil in the shade ash brown, you can use elfs ultra precision brow thingy in the shade cool brown. Literally SAME THING, from the color, the formula, the feel, the wear, the spoolie, everything. Though its just a dollar difference lol. I love this thing but I love the elf one too, if you love this try the elf one! I think both are amazing products
MoniBella from Hayward, CA
I bought this because I love ColourPop but was really disappointed with their brow pencil. The color goes on super light you have to color it in several times. Color flakes off.
BEST AUBURN FOR REDHEADS
Ashleync from Missouri
The best brow pencil on the market. Love the auburn shade. It is hard for me (natural redhead) to find a brow pencil that looks natural and good on me.
Sam from Colorado Springs, CO
I love Colorpop specifically because of the price on their items. These retractable brow pens are just as good, if not better than the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow pens, and for literally a fraction of the price. The brow pens last a long time on every day usage and the product applies smoothly and evenly to give you your best brows. Would absolutely recommend buying colorpop brow products over anything else if you value price AND quality.
