Acne Clarifying Cleanser is a powerful gel cleanser that combats acne and skin breakouts. Acne Clarifying Cleanser's rich lather strips away pore-clogging grime, oil and irritants as it helps treat and prevent acne breakouts with time-released medication that remains active for hours, even after rinsing. Encapsulated salicylic acid provides a sustained release of acne medication to allow for hours of acne treatment. Silver citrate provides antibacterial protection to inhibit blemish formation. Acne Clarifying Cleanser is recommended as the Step 1 cleanser in any Murad Acne regimen as part of Dr. Murad's Inclusive Health system of care.

Dermatologist developed. Tested on people, not animals.Formulated without parabens, sulfates, and phthalates.

Massage small amount over dampened face and neck. Rinse with warm water and pat dry.

Comments about Murad Acne Complex Clarifying Cleanser:

I bought the Murad set because I was breaking out uncontrollably. I have oily skin, especially my Tzone. I recently started breaking out on my jawline and neck area. I decided to give this a try and it absolutely worked for me. Within a week it minimized by acne and was reducing my acne scar appearance. I will definitely keep investing in this face wash. I'll take a week off every month and use cetaphil just because this can be a bit harsh if my skin is not breaking out.

Comments about Murad Acne Complex Clarifying Cleanser:

I was suggested to use this product, I had high hopes that this face wash was going to clear up my skin. After the first two nights, my face started becoming bumpy and after the third night my face was swollen, red, and sensitive. My skin did not like this face wash at all.

Comments about Murad Acne Complex Clarifying Cleanser:

I used to use this on my face, and it did a great job. Now that I'm getting older, it's become too harsh on my sensitive skin. I just switched to the cream version of this with the time release, which is working very well for me right now :)

                      A:

The ingredients in this product are very active to fight acne. Sometimes your skin can seem to have more breakouts with initial use as it is bringing underlying congestion to the surface. Also the active ingredients can dry out the skin. It's important to use a moisturizer with SPF during the day and a moisturizer at night to help skin be as healthy and balanced as possible.

I'm currently using the Clarifying Cleanser with Salicylic Acid and I recently purchase another product with AHA. Is it safe to use these two products together?

                    • Brand Expert

                      A:

Without knowing the type of AHA it is difficult for us to give the best recommendation. Clarifying Cleanser is usually sufficient in reducing acne. We would not recommend using both products at once as they become over-drying. Maybe try using one in the morning and one at night and be sure to moisturize.

Yes. you could use this on your back. An even better option would be Murad's Acne Body Wash. Item #: 2086562. It has glycolic and salicylic acids to penetrate pores and date seed powder to exfoliate.
It pairs wonderfully with the Clarifying Body Spray. Item #: 2082344
It helps new acne from forming.

It depends on what you mean by sensitive skin. This product has 1.5% salicylic acid, many can find this to be very drying to the skin.
Time Release Cleanser has only .5% salicylic acid and works well for people who tend to be sensitive. Item #: 2215406
