Just an average lipstick

I was excited to receive a Dior lipstick. This would be my first and so I have very high expectations. I am forever looking for a good matte long lasting lipstick formula. And this one fits the box based on the claim. I got it in the shade 999 which is a bright beautiful red. The color in the tube w...as a little intimidating but it is actually a very lovely wearable red. A+ for the color. Now the formula, it is a true matte lipstick. However, it bleeds. I also do not like the shape of the bullet. It is very hard to get to the corners of the lips and the Cupid bow. I had better application when I use a lip liner first, otherwise it is very messy. It did go on quite patchy. It took me a couple coats to get kind of an even layer. The lipstick then moves around on the lips and bunch up in certain areas. Not a good look. It also settles in lines if you have dry lips. Comfort wise, it's not the most comfortable, neither the worst. I definitely needed to apply a lip balm an hour in. As I mention, it is true matte. So that claim is true. Now is it transfer proof like they claim? No, I kissed my hands and it did transfer, not a ton but still. Lasting power you ask? I tried working out with this lipstick on. It faded significantly despite I did not wipe it or touch it during my work out. At the end of my hour long work out, it was pretty textured up close. I probably could still pull it off form afar. To be fair, I wiped it off and re applied before going out for lunch. I attached a picture of my lips after lunch. The inner parts were pretty much gone. I think the out portion was saved by the lip liner. That was disappointing. I can tell this formula won't touch up well so I wore it as is for another hour, at which point the lipstick was basically there (pic attached) Verdict: would not purchase again. I really don't think this lipstick surpasses any drugstore formula. And with the price, it's an easy pass for me.
