Refreshing Rosacea with Rescue Retinol

I have extremely sensitive skin with Rosacea. I received Hero Rescue Retinol Nighttime Renewing Cream for free through the Stellar Product Testing Panel. \n\nI'm beyond thankful I qualified to test this item as I had completely given up trying to incorporate a retinol product into my skin care routi...ne. Over the past 10 years, I have tried numerous over-the-counter retinol products but have ended up with extremely aggravated skin and another item added to the unused product section of my bathroom. I had succumbed to the fact that retinol and my rosacea were never going to be friends.\n\nWhen I first received the Hero Rescue Retinol Nighttime Renewing Cream, I noticed the packaging was a calming purple with a sleek design. The cap was easy to remove and the pump worked as expected. \n\nThe instructions for the product state to use after your usual routine. Due to my sensitive skin, I have a very simple daily routine. I wash my face & décolletage nightly with a very mild gentle cleanser and add a gentle moisturizing lotion. I wear SPF during the day. I have never been good at keeping a routine or remembering to incorporate new items into the few routines I do have. The calming purple Rescue Retinol package was a nice visual reminder that a new bottle/item exists in my routine. The purple color reminds me of winding down for bed which helped me remember to apply the retinol at the end of my face cleaning routine before I jumped into bed for the night. It might seem silly, but it was a big help in keeping me consistent.\n\nI used 1-3 pumps of the cream each application. I noticed that after using it for about 2 weeks that I didn't need 3 pumps because my skin was smoother and more supple. The cream is easy to apply and it made my easily irritated skin feel a bit calmer. I noticed that I began to crave that moisturized supple youthful skin feel each night. I remember to do my nightly routine 5-6 times per week and always remembered to add this product! \n\nOverall, I have noticed that my skin is smoother and the areas of my face that have uneven texture and color from rosacea are also improving. My husband even began to notice my skin looking healthier and more vibrant and has started using the cream. He even says it is easy to apply and work into his stubble on his face. \n\nI am someone who gets bored easily with products and am always looking for the next "better" item. I have known the benefits of retinol for years, but have never been successful with them because they have been very irritating and drying for my skin. I'm excited to say that at the end of this review period, I have already found myself going to the Hero website to REORDER this product. This is shocking for me because I typically would have been like "cool - that was great but time to try something different." Not this time. I found my retinol that works for me and is easy. Plus, it actually IMPROVED my skin!! I gift one of my favorite things with my friends each year and for 2023, they will be receiving this product from me. \n\nThank you Hero Rescue Retinol - you are my skin's new hero!
