I have NO idea where the "greasy" complaints are coming from, unless they aren't following the directions and slathering it on instead of using a small amount and patting on the skin (like you should with 99% of skincare products). A little goes a long way, and it is the ONLY moisturizer I have found that keeps me shine free and minimizes my pores all day without clogging them and making my skin angry in the process. For someone who has acne prone skin, that's a godsend in itself. Based off my love for this product, I've replaced pretty much my entire skincare line-up with Murad products (aside from my ride or die Glow Recipe items). I usually try to find the best cheapest version of something, but sometimes it's better to spring money wise for the very best product. This is it.
I have very oily and sensitive skin. In the past, regular sunscreens have always felt heavy and made me break out. The old formula of the mattifier never irritated my skin, felt weightless, and looked flawless under my foundation. Although the newer formula does have a pore filling, smoothing effect, it feels heavy and greasy ALL DAY LONG, and smells like orange blossom with a sunscreen smell. This does not mattify or control oil at all, which is half of what it's claiming to do. If you do not wear makeup, and have less oily skin than me, maybe this would work for you.
The worst part is that my holy grail foundation, the Fenty Matte foundation, will not blend AT ALL over this mattifier. I have used the new Naked Urban Decay foundation and it seems to work better. I understand that this is probably a formulation incompatibility with the Fenty foundation and the new mattifier, but I have always applied my foundation in the same manner with a slightly dampened beauty blender, and my foundation has always looked amazing. When I try to blend the Fenty foundation over the new mattifier, it instantly CLUMPS and slightly hardens on the surface of my sponge but somehow manages to remain sticky enough to actually remove some of the foundation in patches as I am blending. I can see my skin in bits where the foundation has not blended. I have even tried applying less of the mattifier and waiting a few minutes before applying foundation, but, like I said, this stuff DOES NOT mattify and feels GREASY the second you put it on.

Glad I was able to find this product. I used it 15yrs ago and the results are still as I imagined. After a week of use I experienced no breakouts and it held my makeup all day. Will purchase again

this sunscreen is nice if you're not going to wear makeup, but it pills soooooo bad under makeup. it's also not moisturizing in the slightest kind of gives my face a tight feeling :/

i thought this was a nice spf since it didn't break me out or feel too heavy on my skin. it was a nice texture, after putting it on i didn't look crazy matte but i didn't look greasy either so I guess its a more of a matte-satin finish. it didn't keep me matte all day, but there's nothing that does that for me anyways so it wasn't that big a deal. it did keep me less oily than what i would have been with nothing on my skin. my main issue with it was that it would make my makeup pill. no matter what products i was using or what blending techniques i used, my makeup would come off in clumps

So, I bought this and I expected serious oil control. I wore it and put my foundation on top of it and I was greasy in an hour or so, like always. Things started to change when I started putting setting powder on my face after using this product. It made the world of difference! Literally, my friends cannot stop talking about how good my skin looks when I wear this and setting powder. They'll be times where I feel a little oily on my nose. I'll check the mirror and I'm good. So this product will work you just have to be more strategic about how you use it.

Box is labled non-comedogenic, so I was very excited as its hard to find. After researching ingredients, it contains coconut alkanes which is extremely comedogenic (pore clogging). False marketing.

I absolutely LOVED the old formula. Then they changed & is now SPF 45 which is nice but just doesn't work or hold the same. Older formula set rather quickly & was truly mattefying, this one takes longer to set & my skin is oily within a couple hours.

I have pretty oily skin and this works perfect for my skin. It doesn't leave a cast over my skin and actually soaks in. Gives my skin a subtle glow as well.

It doesn't make you break out . It doesn't sting as bad as other SPFs just a little bit very tolerable. However this Spf is too thick so it's takes a long time to observe. And it doesn't go with makeup cause it pills off just like the Cerave Spf30 but it happens because it's super thick .

I use this product every day before I put my foundation on. It does not make my skin any more oily which I live since I have very oily skin and most SPF's make that worse.

Really Love this product❤️ I have very oily skin🥺 but using Murad it tightened my pores and left my face oil free with a matte finish 👏🏼added a little blush, mascara and some lip gloss and I was ready to roll😉 I highly recommend ladies❤️

My skin is oil-free for hours and I love that I can smell the sunscreen. I also notice that I break out less which I love!!

I STRUGGLE to find sunscreens that work for me because I have very oily skin and most sunscreens that don't break me out leave a white cast. The ones that don't leave a white cast break me out or irritate my eyes until I have to wash them off. I am constantly trying out different and new sunscreens to find options in case the ones I like are discontinued and I pray they never change the formulation or discontinue this sunscreen. It melts into my skin like butter and after about 15 minutes it's fully absorbed and I'm not left oily or too dry like some oil fee sunscreens. I can re apply it constantly through the day without it feeling cakey which is important too me because I use chemical exfoliants and retinol throughout the week. Love the 45+ because the only other sunscreens I like are only 30spf. I use a generous amount with each application to get full coverage so it does take a few minutes to run in but that is too be expected if you're using the recommended amount (I follow the tablespoon rule or two finer line rule). When applying around the eyes I do have to be careful because I do have very sensitive under eyes no matter what. Works well for me in the summer and winter. Hate the price but pay it every time because this is a staple product in my routine.

I use this every morning. Just a small amount and it's perfect!!

I've been using this SPF for a while now and never had any issues. It was the perfect SPF to wear underneath my makeup. However, I'm wondering if there has been a formula change because I've now noticed that it begins to pill as the day goes on. Plus, it's been separating my foundation around my eyes. Super disappointing because it was my go-to SPF for a long time.

This formula is so disgusting it is so thick and goes on like acrylic paint. I had the most nightmarish experience trying to put makeup on top of this and it liter came off my skin in balls. So i thought inwould just use it on no makeup days but after a fee hours the same thing happened! Anytime i had to scratch my face orntouch it at all it would bunch and patch. Never again

I used the older formula for years and loved it. I like how this product has a higher SPF, but it seemed to come with a price. The older formula was truly mattifying; I didn't even need to use a primer over it prior to applying foundation. However, this formula has a greasy feel to it and is definitely NOT mattifying or controls oil. I also preferred the previous formula's "tea tree-like" smell. Overall, very disappointed. If you have normal skin, this product is probably OK- but that is not who you are marketing to. If you have oily skin...stay clear of this product. It will make it worse. Very Disappointed, and searching for a new mattifying moisturizer that I can wear under make-up.

This product is thicker than expected. It leaves a white residue which unfortunately may not be ideal for darker complexions. I always look ghostly after but I kind of like it because it brightens and evens my skin tone. It does pill if you touch it or put products on after. It sometimes makes my foundation splotchy if my skin is more dry. I do like that it helps keep the oil under control but I think the oil sometimes catches up with me later on in the day. I enjoy that it smoothes my pores and fine lines. I also think this formula tends to bleed throughout the day. Whenever I go for walks, it ends up running into my eyes and burning. Overall, I *sometimes* really enjoy this product. I like it a lot on no makeup days, no shower days where my complexion just looks a lil oily/rough.

I have adult acne and oily skin. I switched my facial moisturizer from Kiehls to this Murad moisturizer because Kiehls started to become to heavy on my problem skin. I still love Kiehls. But this Murad moisturizer does not make my skin oily and I love it. Because it mattifies the skin, after I put it on I'm tempted to leave my house without makeup on.

Love this stuff as mg day time moisturizer. I have very oily, acne prone skin with huge pores. I have had a lot of trouble finding a moisturizer that doesn't leave me looking greasy and lay on top of my skin. My skin feels soooo soft after using this and it really does keep the oiliness at bay. And bonus points for having sunscreen!!! Only thing I don't love is the price for the small tube!

I've had many older relatives with skin cancer and in general I think that all white people should use a SPF moisturizer on their face every day. I also am very prone to acne and oliy skin and have large pores. This is the one-stop solution for my morning daily face routine and I really can't go without it. I've had mixed experiences with Murad products in the past, and they are generally overpriced, but this stuff is worth the money every time. It never causes breakouts and even reduces the oiliness of my T bone and the appearance of pores on my nose. It's lightweight and easy to apply and hardly feels like a sun block at all. For those looking to protect their face without risking breakouts, this is what you've been waiting for.

When I first received this product I was really excited. The application process is a bit tricky. The best way to succeed is to take a nickle sized amount and distribute it evenly and quickly on both sides of your face. Don't linger to rub it in because it will peel a bit. The number one important step is to not touch your face afterwards. I dont wear makeup so this is the perfect product for me.

Yep, for a product meant for acne prone skin, this made me break out, and I thought it was just me but it happened to my mom too her skin is different from mine and she normally doesn't have acne problems.

Works perfect with oily skin minimizing pores. Have been mistaken for wearing make up when just wearing this on my bare face.

I have VERY oily skin, and have tried product after product and nothing helped. I saw results instantly. It has a nice citrus scent and keeps my skin oil free all day!

I bought to use as a sunblock but I love the way my foundation goes on after!
