My lips chap easily and when it's cold out even shrivel a little, so I've always been on the hunt for something moisturizing. I also have days where I don't wear makeup, so I wanted something that I could slap on and have some protection. Usually chapsticks only come in SPF15 or SPF20, but when I found this I snatched it up! I've used the regular Aquaphor for slathering on my lips or eyelids at night (also highly recommend for after tattoo care), and knew it could be trusted. The main downside is the taste and smell which is of course SPF (not super strong though). What I do to prevent tasting it is squeeze a small amount on my finger, apply to the outer most part of my lips, and then dab inward. You still smell it, but I find in time I don't notice it anymore, and I bet you could mask it with a scented lip product just fine.
I am an avid user of the Regular Aquaphor Lip Repair, but the one with sunscreen is a no, if i might say. I thought it would be great at first, but the second i tried it out it was too runny. I thought it was meant to be like that so i had tried it a few different occasions and each one the same. Then I tried shaking the chapstick because i thought separation had happened, and no success. I even tried squeezing out the first layer of liquid to get to the aquaphor and no luck, i ended up wasting a third of the product in the tube. Besides, the taste and smell of the liquid that first comes out is pure sunscreen. If i wanted to lick sunscreen off my lips i would have done that myself a long time ago.

You can literally taste the spf when you apply this on your lips and inhale through the mouth. I tossed it after that first use.

It tastes like burnt rubber or something. It is moisturizing but not worth dealing with the taste, vaseline is better

At this price point you just can't really complain about this lip moisturizer. I love that it has SPF as well as my face and lips burn easily. I apply this every morning and night. My lips have not cracked once this winter and I live in Wisconsin where it is extremely cold and dry. This stuff lasts me months! You really can't go wrong.

Too runny, weird taste after a while. Was in Costa Rica on the beach all day & this doesn't feel like it protects lips.

The taste is just horrible! Just like getting sun block in your mouth! Also the texture is on the liquidy side! Didn't like it

Unless you're allergic to SPF you should definitely be using SPF in all your skin care products. So affordable too. And with all the Aquaphor quality too. I have these strategically placed all around my spaces.

Was just trying to find a lip balm with spf and bought this without looking at the ingredients🤦♀️ would not repurchase. Also it taste like sunscreen🤢 Literally just opened it and used it once but I'll toss it because it's not worth it.

Had high hopes given that this was the highest SPF content lip product in a tube packaging I could find but was sadly disappointed. The Jack Black Moisture Therapy Lip Balm SPF 25 is a really great alternative!

bought this product because it's supposed to be good for sensitive skin and I also needed a lip balm with spf for the summer. I woke up after using this and had contact dermatitis on my lips, it was an uncomfortable chemical burn ): be safe using this product

Tastes gross and dries out my lips. Now I use it as an under-eye cream in the morning and I love it for that because it doesn't burn my eyes.

Yeah, good idea but I think the SPF makes it taste horrible. Kind it stays in your mouth. No. Threw away and went back to the mini jar.

I have no idea why other reviews say it tastes weird. Just got my second tube and it doesn't taste like or smell like anything. It makes my lips really smooth, I always put it on throughout the day and especially before putting on liquid lipstick. Usually liquid lipstick looks super dry, but when I use this underneath my lips stay looking plump even with the lipstick on. ALSO, you can't really beat the SPF 30 for this price. I mainly bought it because of the SPF but I'm pleasantly surprised that it makes my lips baby smooth. 100% recommend, I literally buy 2-3 tubes at a time because I go through them so fast lol.

Goes on like a lip gloss, I personally didn't experience any weird taste or smell with this product and I've been through two tubes of it now. Stays on pretty well and makes my lips look nice and hydrated :)

Not worth it. The taste is so horrible that is seems like you are licking a chemical tree while wearing it. No balm is worth that. I'd rather pay $8 for Jack black

I just wrote a 5 star review for the regular non-spf version of this because it is so amazing and long lasting and healing. Leaves my lips moisturized and smooth even after the slippery top layer has worn off/soaked in. However, I have to knock this one down a star because the chemical sunscreen smell is extremely strong and doesn't fade after wearing it for hours. Considering it goes on my lips right under my nose this is pretty annoying. I didn't check the ingredients before buying so I was dismayed to see that for the spf component, it contains oxybenzone which is a hormone blocker and is not a very safe ingredient so if you care about that, make note. The other issue I have with this is that it tastes absolutely horrendous if you happen to get any too close to the inside of your mouth and touch it with your tongue. The regular one doesn't have a terrible taste like this, although it doesn't have a particularly good taste or anything. But this one is just really really bad pucker your lips type of taste lol

Awesome for the lips and glides on without creating a sticky consistency!

So I was on a medication that really dried my skin out, and I love aquaphor skin products, so I figured this would be great. I truly can't comment on whether or not it actually works, because, god forbid, if you get any of it actually IN your mouth, you're in store for the most disgusting, chemical, bitter taste of your life. I had to immediately remove it and then brush my teeth to make the taste go away.

I thought this was an every day lip balm!! It's not! It's only when you go outside in the sun other than that don't use it if you are not going outside it drys your lips!

THE BEST FOR MY CHAPPED LIPS. Where I live it gets super dry and cold during winter. Add to that wearing a mask for 6 hours a day, and my lips are devastatingly chapped. This is the ONLY thing that has helped. If you accidentally taste a little it isn't bad tasting at all. Has texture of coconut oil on lips without being as greasy, if that makes sense. Product doesn't seem to slide off my lips. But seriously, get it if you are in dire need. SPF as bonus too bc that's obviously great.

I love it. It instantly soothes my lips and it leaves a slight gloss on them. My only complaint is that i have to either put a reasonable amount on or reapply a lot.

I love the Aquaphor Healing ointment for skin. I adore it! But this for lips has a super thin consistency and the taste is the worst!!! I've used the skin ointment on my lips before without this awful taste!
Sam from New hampshire
This stuff is the best! Its the only stuff that works pretty much instantly. I will be forever buying this product.

If you're looking for a lip balm with SPF, this is it! No white cast. Leaves my lips smooth and shiny. Definitely repurchasing. I don't get the taste and smell comments... I had to go smell it to try to understand. I don't mind the smell at all. Highly recommend!

I haven't been able to use this like I want because I can't get over the smell and the taste. It's not like I'm eating it, but from wearing lip products that "move" lips may end up in your mouth. It smells medicated. I bought it because the tube. Going back to the mini jar.
