For the first time in my curly haired life, I got the dreaded "mildew issue" from air drying this summer. So embarrassing. I'd heard that this is something curly hair women are prone to, but I've been lucky all these years. I'm also not big on hair maintenance, I get my hair relaxed and colored every few months, and the damage I do is resolved during my salon visits. Due to Covid, and a family death that left me unable to find time to go to the salon since October, my hair went insane from neglect. I was in the beginning phases of taking better care of my hair when this issue cropped up, so I purchased this product for the colorcare feaure. When using it, the smell, while fruity and pleasant at first, quickly became too pungent to stand. I wanted that smell far far away from me. I'm sensitive to smells, but not allergic, even with the window open, it was just too much. But, once I rinsed the product out, the smell was pretty much gone and my hair didn't feel squeaky like it usually does with clarifying shampoos. Fast forward a few days, I got a whiff of my hair, OMG, it smells so nice, not a hint of the shampoo, but my hair actually smells naturally fresh, like it did when I was a teenager. I definitely think the end result is worth it. If the cause of that strong smell is part of what works, they should keep it, but if it's just for fluff, take it down about 20 notches please.
Used one time. My hair was so dry and knotted I had to rewash it twice just to get it so I could brush it. I was very surprised, I use this brand often and have for years. I recently read an article that claims ordering from anyone other than a licensed salon is very risky as the product may be expired, diluted, or outright replaced with a cheaper product. Very dissatisfied.

This is the only clarifying shampoo I will use on my hair! I am blonde and was terrified it would strip all the toner out but it didn't! I use this twice a month to give my hair a good refresh. It smells amazing also!

Stripped the dye out of my hair and was overly drying. I dont know why this would be in the colorcare line.

I would not purchase again. Very disappointed. Made my hair like straw. Ish I could bring it back

When I look for a clarifying shampoo, I want it to clean my hair without leaving it greasy or really dry, to be color safe, no SLS & not to be overly perfumed. This stuff checks all those boxes and more!! My hair looks so clean but not dry like other clarifying shampoos I've used in the past. It is pricey, but a little goes a long way and I don't use it every time I shampoo (maybe every 3rd or 4th wash). If you have been on the hunt for an excellent clarifying shampoo, I can't recommend this enough!

I typically don't write reviews, but when I looked at adding this product to my cart (again after several purchases of this product). I noticed that surprisingly there is not as many reviews for this product. I think it deserves many, it is an amazing product. I've been dying my hair for years blonde and Lanza products always make my hair feel softer.

This was recommended by my stylist for colored hair. My scalp used to get an awful buildup and I was seeing a dermatologist to address the issue. I also was using an anti-dandruff shampoo that apparently aggravated it. After using this product for a while, the buildup went away and stayed away and I realized that my scalp was reacting to the chemicals in the anti-dandruff shampoos. This stuff is plant based, smells amazing and keeps my highlighted hair from fading or turning brassy. I really do love this product and would recommend to anyone, despite it being a bit pricier than your typical drugstore hair care products (but not awfully so).

I have tried them all and this Clarifying Shampoo is wonderful - it's gentle, smells yummy and doesn't strip your hair - especially curly hair!

Our well water is horrible. It has destroyed the integrity of my hair. It took a while for me to figure out what it was after having thyroid blood tests etc. I love L'anza so I tried this shampoo. My dry hair that was dull was back to what a remembered! Soft, shiny, healthy and my blond was no longer brassy! I also use the White Tea healing shampoo and conditioner. It's expensive but worth it when you have heavy iron in your well water. Leave the shampoo in a few minutes then rinse.
