LOVE LOVE LOVE I am so thrilled with this flat iron! I was tentative to buy it because no one had reviewed it and it's not available in stores. But I'm so glad I gave it a chance. I recently purchased the baby bliss ultra thin titanium iron and wasn't impressed, so I returned it and got this one instead. The plates glide down my thick curly/wavy hair so smoothly, and it doesn't snag. It's pretty lightweight as well. I love that you can adjust the temperature in 10 degree increments. The digital display shows you the temperature of the flat iron as it's heating up, (or cooling off) so you know when it's ready to use. The dual voltage is also a nice perk if you like to travel out of the country. I haven't had it very long so I don't know how long it lasts, but so far so good.
I wouldn't recommend My husband bought this for me for my birthday.. after lots of looking and comparing I decided to go with this one.. I was super excited when I got it.. I used it.. my hair looks damaged and straw like, mind you this is after one use.. it snags my hair and pulls it out.. needless to say I will be retiring it this weekend

I also had iron around 6 months and the plates coming loose too, after further inspection there is hairline cracks at the base of the plates. I called CHI they advise I would have to pay S&H to have it looked at and then also send a $15 check for S&H for a new iron sent to me. I told her that wasn't good customer service. After that I contacted ULTA they advised that I could return to the store for an in store credit. I plan on doing that as soon as possible. So we will see….

I ordered this ½" iron since I cut my hair short and wanted to enjoy the softness and manageability that a CHI consistently delivers. What is described on this page is not what I received. I opened the box to find gleaming silver mirror-like plates on my brand new "Black Titanium Plate" iron. I thought perhaps I was mistaken in what I thought I ordered, but surely this would still be a quality CHI product and gave it a go. My hair looked awful and not at all soft, but I was late to work. I gave it a go the next morning and the same issue occurred. I contacted the company to let them know that the product I received was not the product I ordered through their website and requested a full refund and return label. I even included a photograph showing the plates mirroring the box. They said that they recently changed the product and did not update the website yet. As I write this review, it has been ONE month since I ordered this item and the website has not changed. So, I had to "Karen it" in order to get them to pay for return shipping, but in the end I am satisfied with the resolution. Do not order this item if you want Black Titanium Plates.
