Most Helpful Positive Review new favorite I have never tried Micellar water before but I have heard the benefits so I was excited to try the Garnier makeup wipes with micellar water. They look like typical makeup wipes but the smell isn't harsh. It's a nice gentle scent. It worked good in removing makeup. I didn't need to scrub my face to remove the makeup. I really enjoyed these and will be purchasing more once I'm done. Now what's so great about Micellar water? Micellar water is made up of micelles (tiny balls of cleansing oil molecules) suspended in soft water. Micelles are attracted to dirt and oil, so they are able to draw out impurities without drying out the skin. It was first made in France where people didn't have traditional plumbing and the water in France was really harsh on the skin. This means you can use this and regular micellar water when on vacationing to different places where the water may be hard on the skin. It is also a powerful yet gentle cleansing alternative to harsh face wipes or alcohol-based toners and astringents
Most Helpful Critical Review Convenient and easy to use, but not perfect Makeup removing wipes seem to be a bit trendy these days, so I wanted to put them to the test. I used Garnier SkinActive Micellar Makeup Removing Original Towelettes for a one week. Before I give you my results, let me start with the basics. I have combination skin and wear light-coverage makeup with neutral tone eye shadows and blush. I always wear waterproof mascara without eye liner. At the end of the day, I usually use an oil cleanser and / or foam face wash that removes all of my makeup, including my waterproof mascara. On the nights when I'm too tired to do my evening ritual, I thought the wipes would be a nice alternative. The wipes are a good size and the fragrance is mild. The cloth is thinner than a regular baby wipe, but strong enough to wipe the face several times without tearing . Unfortunately, the wipes were unable to remove ALL of the makeup and dirt, but most certainly could not remove my waterproof mascara. The Garnier towelettes never claimed to remove it, but I still tried. To test how much was left on my face, I used astringent to clean my entire face and eye makeup remover to clean my eyes. There was significant pigment and product on the cotton pads, so I knew the towelettes were not cleaning my face entirely. I think these wipes would be good to use after a workout at the gym, when traveling, or just to freshen up the face in the morning, but I would not use them as a substitute for my face cleansing/ makeup removing routine.

Just ok. It works to remove make up in a pinch. I feel like I need to rinse my face after though, feels like it leaves a film if I don't rinse. Not as effective as the Bioderma for me. This works fine for a back up for me but will not be my go to.
Easily takes makeup off! 5

It takes makeup off & cleanses your face at the same time. My face felt fresh & soft after using these towelettes! Perfect for a quick makeup off skin care evening!
pretty dry 2

bought these for travel and they do remove makeup. but it takes 2/3 for a full face since they're pretty dry. they don't leave your skin feeling sticky like the micelles water can, but i probably wouldn't purchase again

Wanted to love this product since I do love the Micellar water in a bottle. Unfortunately the towelettes in the package were dried up and didn't work.

Use for face washing in the AM; and at night to take off makeup. It is my go-to wipe.
Felt like sandpaper... 2

Removed makeup well enough, but felt super dry and rough. I won't be using them on my face again, maybe just to clean my falsies and brushes.
Love it! 5

These stay stocked in my home. I love that they are not harsh and don't have a heavy fragrance like other towelettes. I wipe out the shelves when I go into Ulta. Sorry Not Sorry.
I would buy this product again 5

I tend to place a wipe on my eye for about 5 second and than wipe gently around my eye area.
It is good for my face 5

I did love it. It did not irritate my face. BUT I wish it had more wipes.
Irritating for rosacean skin 2
Rebecca from Chicago
This product is NOT fragrance free. When I used it I noticed an immediate smell but used it for and noticed my postpapular rosacea worsen over 2 days. I couldn't figure it out but now I know it was this product. Makes my skin red and messed with the natural moisture barrier quite a bit. I know a lot of people like it but be wary if you have rosacea. It's a hard hard pass from me
I love these wipes! 5

I have super sensitive skin and this seems to be the only thing I can find that removes my makeup without breaking me out, making me itch, or drying my skin out. It's amazing!
I would repurchase this product 4

These are the only make up remover wipes that I use! They take off my make up so well it's in sane. They don't have a saint and they don't leave any kind of residue on my face after use them. Plus, I can usually use one to get off all of my makeup.

Mildew smell 1
Jamie45 from Myrtle Beach, SC
I bought these on a whim at a Food Lion at the beach, so maybe they had been sitting on the shelf for too long or something. They smelled like straight up mildew and barely removed any makeup. I used them one night and I scrubbed my face really well, but still had leftover mascara on my face the next morning.
LOVE! 5

Awesome at getting dirt, sweat and and make-up off! Really moist, so you get the whole face and neck. Obviously more expensive than buying a bottle and using cotton balls/pads to wipe your face but great to throw in my gym bag!
Great for contact lens wearers 5

The only wipe that removes my "They're Real" mascara without burning my eyes or clouding my contact lenses. Takes it all off without leaving a greasy film behind. My go-to-wipe.
Not a product I would buy again 2

It cleans but it has a strange mildew type odor that is really offputting so I would never but this product again.
Great for on the go! 4

My daughter uses this to take off her makeup. She says they're ok, but don't remove it all.
These are great 5

These work well to remove makeup and are gentle on the skin and refreshing.
My fav! 5
StephF from Jacksonville, Florida
I love these wipes! Most of the makeup removers that I've tried make my eye area sting and hurt except for these wipes. I apparently have sensitive skin and these remove my makeup with no pain or issues.
Wouldn't recommend 1
Kim the runner from Texas
These wipes were dry almost soapy feeling, I would not repurchase, they don't clean anything. It takes off very little makeup and does not remove water proof make up at all. Leaves your face feeling like there's a layer of oil on it.
