Is it safe to use with keratin treated hair
- Asked by mar
- Official Answer By Pacifica Beauty - Brand EngageHi there! Our Scalp Love Rosemary Mint Serum is formulated without sulfates or harsh ingredients, so it’s generally safe for keratin-treated hair. With herbal extracts of sage, thyme and witch hazel, it is designed to help detox and loosen buildup while soothing and hydrating your scalp. That said, everyone’s hair and treatments can be a little different, so we always recommend checking in with your stylist or doing a small patch test first to be extra sure. Was this answer helpful to you

I saw in the reviews this contains ascorbic acid and sodium benzoate; which forms a known carcinogen. Is this a worry for this product?
- Asked by Bri
- Official Answer By Pacifica Beauty - Brand EngageThank you for your question! You're correct that ascorbic acid (vitamin C) and sodium benzoate can, under certain rare conditions (like heat, light, or metal contamination), form benzene - a known carcinogen. However, that reaction has been observed primarily in stored beverages and requires very specific catalysts. In cosmetic products, especially when properly formulated, stored, and used as intended, these conditions are not present. Sodium benzoate is considered safe and is widely used in both food and cosmetics, and any potential benzene formation in this serum is extremely unlikely and would be at an undetectable, negligible level. Clinical and regulatory consensus is that there's no safety concern for topical use of products containing both ingredients. Was this answer helpful to you

Is this product ok to use on color treated hair? I don't want it removing my color.
- Asked by arbez1201
- Official Answer By Pacifica Beauty - Brand EngageHi! Yes, this formula is safe for color-treated hair—it's free of sulfates that can strip color, and instead features gentle, nourishing ingredients like aloe, panthenol (vitamin B5), and hyaluronic acid, along with soothing botanical extracts and no harsh alcohols or peroxide. We always recommend a patch test at the back of the scalp, but we've not had any customers with issues. Was this answer helpful to you

Lovely
Not sure if it's due to postpartum hormones, stress, the silicones I was accidentally using (I know, I know - read the labels!), or, likely, a combination of the above, but my scalp has been super itchy and flaky this summer. I've even scratched scabs in a couple spots! Yikes! I picked up this serum...

Nice scent and felt nice on scalp. Burns if left on too long
I really enjoyed this product but it could definitely be improved. It feels nice on my scalp and seems to work great as a pre-wash treatment, I had some great wash days with it, but if I leave it on for more than a couple minutes it starts to burn my skin, I have sort of sensitive skin though so I'm...

Love how it feels on my scalp!

This is good stuff! Makes my scalp feel refreshed and tingly in a good way. Not sure how much improvement I saw or how much a difference it made, but it certainly didn't hurt and probably improved my scalp health.
Helps soothe scalp and soften hair
My scalp is pretty sensitive to dry conditions (really noticeable in winter, especially), and I'd hoped this would help. It helps more with the itchiness rather than eliminating flakiness. I use it ~1x/week, and have found that if I apply it as a leave-in before bed, my hair and scalp absorb it over night and I end up with very soft hair the next day. Also, it smells great. So it didn't quite fix what I hoped it would, but I do like what it does, and it's a calming routine to massage it into my scalp.
Not affective for dandruff
Hair Type Straight Hair
I bought this hoping it would help eliminate my dandruff but it doesn't. It might help it you have minor scalp dryness or build up but nothing more than that.
Smells Great & Soothes

Smells great and helps with itchy scalp. I like to leave it on all day and then shower in the PM.
I wanted to really like it
Ive used it a few times but ultimately had to return it:(. Im disappointed in the lack of tingles despite the product supposedly containing mint in the formula. I didnt notice my hair feeling any different after use, the product i typically use often makes my hair cleaner and shinier after using. (I use the soapbox brand tea tree serum from Sally.). I dont know if it's specific because of the serum, but my scalp was itchy after use.
