Better Than Shu Uermura I came on to Ulta's site today for only one reason: to review this product. For many years the only lash curler I used was Shu Uermura. I've tried many over my 30+ years of wearing makeup, and the Shu Uermura was (like for most of us) my HG. I could never find another that did not pinch my eyelids. As I've "matured" my eyes have become very deep set, making it very difficult to curl my lashes without any skin getting caught in the curler. Recently, my Shu Uermura has begun to pinch my lids due to this problem.
On a whim I purchased this Ulta Lash Curler to bring my order up to free shipping, figuring I would just return it at some point. Well it sat in my vanity drawer for about a month. One morning I thought I'd reached for my Shu Uermura and began to curl my lashes, bracing myself b/c for the dreaded eye-watering pinch. It didn't happen. My lashes curled beautifully, sans pinching. When I went to wipe it off with a tissue after using it, I was shocked to see it was NOT my Shu Uermura. I couldn't believe it. So I curled my lashes again, thinking it was a fluke. Again, no pinching. I continued to use the Ulta curler until one morning I decided to try my old standby again. It pinched. Tried the Ulta one. NO pinching. As long as Ulta continues to make this lash curler (without changing anything about it) I will continue to purchase it, and will never purchase another brand's lash curler.
DO NOT BUY After using a shisedo curler for years I was ready to try something new. I bought this curler because of the great reviews, but I wish someone would have warned me that it is defective! Yesterday morning I was getting ready for work and curled my lashes as usual, but when I went to release the curler it was stuck shut! The hinge would not open and the curler was hanging on my eyelashes. Since I couldn't get the thing to budge I had to try and slide my eyelashes out. To my horror two huge chunks of lashes were missing by the time I got the thing off. Aside from looking ridiculous, the worst part is that I've been using a $150 lash serum for the last 4 months and even though the results were great, that's now a complete waste of money as well. I was showing a coworker my eyelashes and she said "did you get that at ulta? I had the same thing happen to me last year using the Japanese style curler". Clearly, mine is not an isolated incident. I have always loved Ulta and their brand of products, but please Ulta stop selling this defective item!
I hate this curler so much 1

When you apply pressure to curl the lashes it puts a huge kink in my lashes. I have tried to make this curler work but its trash. Save your money

I bought this because the quality looks really good… but unfortunately did not read the reviews. An entire CHUNK was ripped out of my lashes because of it. This has never happened with an eyelash curler before. My eyelashes were always full and long so now it looks embarrassing with a missing chunk…
I wouldn't buy this 1

This cut my lashes! I am so mad at how this turned out. My lashes were somewhat long and really pretty. My lashes are now short and don't look as long anymore. This might just be my experience but if I works out with you than thats Fine Just be careful!!!
