Hourglass
Since Hourglass’ launch, they have been proudly cruelty-free and taken an active stand against animal testing. In 2021, Fast Company named Hourglass one of the Top 10 most innovative beauty brands for developing a vegan alternative to carmine, a red pigment traditionally produced from crushed female insects. Hourglass’ Unlocked Collection donates 5% of profits to the Nonhuman Rights Project in support of their mission to release wild animals from captivity.
Korres
The Korres Recycle Lab collects, sorts, shreds and cleans 100% of their post-industry scrap, including waste containers and cartons. The materials are then given a new shape, form or unexpected use. Plastic bottles transform to tiles, combs or even vases; paper is recycled into new packaging, paper bags or display materials. Over 145 tons of waste have been collected in the past two years, leading to the creation of over 10,000 new recycled objects.
Redken
Redken believes that the hair industry and hair salons can and should be safe spaces for the LGBTQ+ community where clients and stylists feel welcomed and accepted as they are. In partnership with It Gets Better Project, a global leader in LGBTQ+ youth empowerment, Redken is amplifying stylists’ personal stories of overcoming bullying to reassure and inspire LGBTQ+ youth that #ItGetsBetter.
TULA
TULA is committed to furthering advances in medical research, health care and health equity, and has created a medical school scholarship program for underrepresented communities in medicine. TULA funds research fellowships and grants for medical students, residents and fellows enrolled at NYU Grossman School of Medicine who are disproportionately underrepresented in medicine and rewards excellence in research topics that directly address health inequities.
