LISTEN LADIES ( & Gentlemen ) This product WILL NOT LATHER!!! It is not made to lather. Sulfate free means it is made without the detergent/lathering chemicals! This is a good thing!! Do not be dismayed by the reviews that say this product is bad just because it doesn't lather up. You will however have to change the method in which you wash your hair because it will cause major tangles if you just pile your hair up on your head and go to scrubbing! That is not how this stuff works. I have EXTREMELY long hair (aprox 3 feet long) & it is Cherry-coke color. The best process is to brush your hair before you get in the shower (this helps keep you from shedding so much hair in the shower too) and then wet hair (just let the water run through keeping it straight), then take shampoo and gently portion it out to diff areas of your head (gently rub in) and then take more shampoo and rub into the length, I never squish or swirl my hair all around. What I do is very similiar to what my stylist does when dying my hair, just minus the brush. I leave the product for about 3 minutes. I then rinse, again, without bringing the length up to my scalp I just let the water run from the scalp to the length while ringing it out after my hair fills with water & massaging scalp to work it through. Repeat with conditioner. AS FOR VOLUME THIS STUFF IS AMAZING!! I blew dry my hair and had instant volume! I also use the "Dense" to add thickness (I have thin hair) & I use the "powder play" to add more root volume. Its been a week and my volume is still there! Since washing my hair is so much work, I try to go as long as I can without washing it BUT so many products make my hair oily but not this one! I truly believe that the lack of sulfates that strip oils is the reason why! Just like your face, if you strip your oils your body will over produce oils to compensate! No oils stripped = healthy hair, non greasy hair!
I got this along with the conditioner, because I have tried BigSexyHair styling products and liked them. I understand that this shampoo doesn't have sulfates so it shouldn't lather, but this does not feel good on the hair. My hair gets very oily so when I try to massage this into my scalp I feel like I put nothing on (even after 3 pumps) and it just tangles up my hair. I've used other sulfate free shampoo and I could at least tell I was putting product on my hair. After I rinse this out my hair is knotted from trying to work it through to my scalp. It does clean my hair, but it feels dry and frizzy after I dry it, even with the conditioner :( I wanted to love this but sadly I choose my Suave over this one.

I love the volume it gives my hair, I definitely will buy again but I do wish they would work on the smell. It just has a very "generic" type smell to me.

I didn't notice any volume from this shampoo and it doesn't really clean my hair, either. Scent is okay.

This works great for me. I have fine hair. However , I was wondering if the formula recently changed.? The one I just bought is thinner and clear looking. Another clue was it had a lot of lather and the other end didn't . I really like the other. Just wondering

I have really thick hair and my hair stylist recommended the Big and Sexy volumizing that's also great for my hair coloring. Only downside is that I love changing out my products so I'm adding other healthy products such as moisturizing or strengthen my hair. They didn't recommend the other shampoos along the product line, so I'm trying to find out my options.

This shampoo gave me great results. Never experienced such volume with any other shampoo. Also left such a clean feel. Definitely use with the coordinating volumizing conditioner.

I switch this product off with my Matrix So Silver shampoo. I have very platinum blonde hair- I only wash my hair 2-3x a week. I use the conditioner paired up with the matrix. & its completely fine. but on the days I just use the bigsexy products (shampoo and conditioner) the next day I feel like my hair is still wet because it constantly feels like its never washed out. I can assure you I rinse it enough.. Maybe over rinse it because I was noticing it becoming greasy so much quicker. This whole week I've had to wash my hair everyday because of this issue. While I've had no issues with the conditioner, I do not suggest this shampoo.

I really like this shampoo. I have long thick wavy to curly colored hair. Many shampoos for curly hair weigh my hair down so it won't curl. I don't wash it every day and I use a good hair masque very sparingly, every week or so. Humidity is my friend and cold winter air works against my curl so I appreciate this shampoo works with me in both seasons.
