Morphe's luxe stippling M406 Large Duo Foundation Brush is made of synthetic bristles and shows your foundation who's the boss.
I LOVE this brush. I see a lot of people saying that it sucks for foundation, but that's because they're probably using it with thick liquid foundation. It only works with thin formulas and only if you use a small amount to get light to medium coverage (which is how foundation is supposed to be used anyway.) This brush is mainly meant for powder products. I use it to apply my loose powder foundation (Tarte Amazonian Clay 24HR Full Coverage Airbrush Foundation) and I have a second one for applying blush and I adore them. It distributes product very evenly in a light layer, which makes whatever you're using look more skin like, natural and seamless, it doesn't cause micro-exfoliation (lifting of dead skin cells when using a buffing motion,) it's easy to clean, it's crazy affordable, it's soft, and it's duo-fiber, which I love. It CAN work well with liquid foundation as well, but only if you're using something light to medium coverage in light layers. I use it with the Lancome Teint Idole foundation as well as the Nars Sheer Glow (one pump only for my entire face, neck and ears) and it makes my foundation look absolutely flawless and one with the skin. If you're working with something that is thick and cakey and you use a lot of product this brush will NOT work for you. It will leave streaks and will not blend it properly. I find that this works best for powder foundation, blush, bronzer, finishing powder, or even contour powder and highlighting powder if you like to sweep it all over the area rather than being precise and intense with your application. Once you learn to use this brush you should love it!
If you're attempting to use this brush for anything but the thinnest liquid foundation it's not going to work. Duo fiber brushes are too flimsy. If you want more coverage or use a thicker liquid or cream foundation use the M439 foundation buffer brush. The long, flimsy hairs on the M406 won't move a heavy foundation enough to blend it out. I use this one for applying a light, glowy bronzer after a deeper, matte bronzer and the duo fibers are perfect for not picking up and depositing too much pigment. This is definitely not for picking up firmly packed product.
I use it with my Mac Face and body radiant foundation. Give the perfect finish and such a soft application! You must!
Great for stippling on very pigmented blush. I specifically love it for my NARS orgasm powder blush.
IDK why this is labeled as a foundation brush because it is awful for that purpose.
It will make your foundation streaky.
The bristles are dense enough to properly blend out foundation and have it look good
I love the quality of these brushes. I clean my brushes every week and they always look like new. No loose bristles after a year. My makeup goes on so much smoother and I love how it does not leave loose bristles.
The brush is very flimsy and instead of blending product it seems to just spread a thick layer around my face
I use the brush for foundation application only. I apply an even amount of my Estee Lauder Double Wear liquid foundation to the face of the brush, and apply it in small circular motions one small section of my face at a time. For those who have issues with this brush leaving streaks or other unsatisfying results... maybe it's your foundation, not the brush?
