Most Helpful Positive Review Highly recommend for DOUBLE CLEANSING I see a ton of comments about not liking this oil because it's very heavy and hard to removed. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND USING IT AS A FIRST-STEP DOUBLE CLEANSER! I use it to remove makeup, products, etc. It does take me a few pumps (maybe 2-3, so I run out every 2-3 months), but it goes on the skin well and really helps break down most of my makeup. I attempt to rinse it off with warm water, it can DEFINITELY be hard to come off, I can't imagine using this as my only cleanser. I never tried using it alone or using a damp cloth to wipe it off. Yes, it does feel very heavy, but I like it since it feels like I'm really getting all the products and oils from the day out. I use a WATER-BASED cleanser to help remove it all (very important to use water-based). That usually does the trick perfectly. My skin is combination, sometimes dry sometimes oily. It has drastically helped my skin's dryness and tightness after washing. I have tried a million different cleansing oils and balms, but I always come back to this one! It leaves my skin clean, soft, and moisturized.
My only complaint is the packaging, I wish it came in a bigger package! I use it twice a day (morning and night) and I run out quickly. The pump can get a little finicky, it's not my favorite.
Most Helpful Critical Review Worst Cleansing Oil I have ever Used I used this product to cleanse my skin for 8 weeks. I was excited to switch to something clean and with so many raving reviews. I used this for 8 weeks only this brand and their skincare line. Week 8 approached and I had white heads, blackheads, chin breakouts ( those really intense cluster breakouts), breakouts on my eyebrows and in between, Light breakouts on my cheeks, a huge whitehead on my nose, dull skin, breakouts all around my upper lip and under my lower lip, breakouts on my neck by my lower earlobes, breakouts on my neck. I have not broke out this badly since I was in High School 12+ years ago I am now approaching 30. I have not seen my skin this bad in many years. I Love Skincare, I even completed Esthetician School at the top of my class. I know my way around skincare. This was the worst experience i have ever had. I have tried Dermalogica, Tula, Bare Minerals, Kate Sommerville, Glossier, Lush, and more and never experienced anything like this. The worst brands I have tried is Clean and Clear and Neutrogena in my youth and Proactive. I Put Mad Hippie on that list just below Neutrogena and the top worst being Proactive because it gave my skin a chemical burn.

I use this 2-3 times a week for a more moisturizing cleanse. It makes my skin feel so soft and hydrated. I will definitely be adding to this to my weekly skincare routine.
It's ok 3

Nothing too terrible. But it was annoying that I could not get it off my face without a wash cloth and that just felt annoying. It is soooo oily.
Mad hippie cleansing oil 4
Illy from San Antonio Texas
I really love all mad hippie products but really expected a bigger bottle with the price and size of the box. I was definitely surprised when I opened it at home and it was half the size of the box. Overall good product.
It's ok but not the best 2
Priscon from California
It's an ok oil. Doesn't remove eyeliner and definitely mascara. I don't wear waterproof I can only imagine it won't do anything. I didn't break out and it was nice texture it's just not for someone who wears eye makeup
faux lash must! 5
Auds from Arkansas
I love this oil cleanser. It works amazing to use on your face after a long day. No scrubbing to get eye liner off. A warm rag does the trick. I recently started to use on my magnetic lashes to get them prepped for next wear. OMG! works wonders and makes them soft. If you gently massage oil cleanser on the magnets then you can have a pretty quick clean up and ready for next use. I have used other things because I ran out. had to make a special trip for this. Nothing is even comparable! GET IT AS A GIFT FOR FAVORITE GLAM BUDDY!
Best for pamper day! 5

I love this oil! However, this would get expensive on an everyday basis. I'm saying that from experience. When you've had a long day and you want to melt into the bathtub, or you're having a self care day of any kind; use this as an indulgence. It is wonderful!
FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS 5

First of all, this cleansing oil smells amazing. Secondly, it will only work if you actually follow the directions! It's not one of those cleansing oils that turns milky with hot water. You have to use a wash cloth properly. Please read the directions!
Smooths & hydrates 5

Great ingredients for oil cleansing. I definitely recommend massaging on your face for a few minutes, rather than just one. And wiping with a warm, wet rag more than once if needed. My chin and nose had rough and bumpy pores/sebaceous filament. After reading that oil cleansing can actually clean them out, I tried this and the results were immediate. My face was so smooth and soft and glowing, I couldn't believe after all the different products I'd been trying recently to improve my recently uneven, bumpy skin, oil was the be solution. I think this could pair nicely with a toner afterwards.

Amazing for dry skin 4
Leabul from Alaska
We live in interior Alaska. I already had dry skin before the move here. I rarely wear make up and don't even own enough to make a "full face"
I could have cried tears of relief after using this. Yes, it is heavy. No, I would not consider it a good choice for your only face cleanser if you wear daily make up.
I needed a daily cleanser that was so mild it was practically a moisturizer, and this is the jackpot. Usually I clean my face and it's so dry and stripped that I feel like it's necessary to do one application of moisturizer, wait, do another, and then wait a few hours and see if I need one more.
My face just felt neutral after washing.
I can also see how this would rock in a routine with a stronger cleanser if you wear daily make up and have dry skin or live in a dry climate.
Soooo grateful I found this! 5
Erin from Undisclosed
This oil is the perfect blend of cleansing and hydrating, and will absolutely NOT dry you out in any way! No need to moisturize afterwards- it's got everything you need! I just apply a sunscreen and makeup, if desired. I've been using olive oil for years, and I'm so happy to have found this because it smells so good and is much easier to work with. It lasts a super long time, too. A very little goes a LONG way! Thank you!
Clean and smooth 5
Rachel from Undisclosed
I love this cleansing oil. It takes a bit more work than some others I have tried but it definitely works. It feels gentle, not astringent at all. I use it in the evening to remove makeup and cleanse. By the following morning my comedones are reduced in size and severity.
It was okay 3
Amanda from Los Angeles
I decided to try this because my other favorite oil cleanser was out and I was desperate,
the product itself smells great, but not a fan of the bottle shape and where the product dispenses. Its too small and hard to pump out at times.
The oil cleanser it self was kind of hard to wash off, and not the easiest to rub in it felt like I needed to press hard to get the product to move.. also it took a while to wash off even with hot water.
I did like how smooth my face felt after each wash, but I couldn't help but be paranoid that I didn't completely wash off my face but it always felt like there was residue left over..
I don't think I will be buying this again, but I'd recommend it for people with dryer skin types.
Great product and smells amazing 5

I have used various cleansing oils throughout the years and this is my favorite. Best ingredients by far and smells lovely. It's thicker so it works great in the shower at the end of the day to cleanse away all my makeup and moisturizes well when used before my makeup routine in the mornings.
never purchasing again :( 1

not a good product at all. i have been using the iunik calendula complete cleansing oil and when it ran out for this to tide me over until a new bottle came. i heard good things about mad hippie, but this cleansing oil was not good at all. it sticks to your face and is so hard to get off even after following the directions. worst cleansing oil ive ever used. i will stick to the k-beauty products that have been actually working for my skin.
Worth The Try 4
According2kimberly from Texas
I had never double cleansed before, and I have been wanting to use a cleansing oil prior to my face cleanser, & this one did not disappoint!!! My face felt super clean and soft after I used this product and honestly I think this one may be a keeper and I will continue to buy this product and add it to my routine permanently!!!
Subpar 3
ThrottleDoll from massachusetts
this oil cleanser smells like the cucumber dove soap. it takes A LOT of pumps to have a good amount to remove makeup (I need 8-10 pumps). it does not come off easily either, leaving a weird residue. I love how real the ingredients are, however, it's not practical for me or effective.

Too Heavy for Me 1
Dimitri from NC
I have oily skin and have used an oil pre-cleanse for a while. I wanted to try something new so I gave this a try. The oils used for this are probably best suited to someone with dry skin. It is very heavy and does not rub on face easily. It also took a fair amount of washcloth passes to remove, even after letting the cloth sit on my face like the directions said. My skin is not the target audience.
My new favorite cleansing oil 5

Use a few drops and massage into skin including eyes; place a warm wet washcloth on the face until cooks; wipe off

I have been using mad hippie for the past year ( vitamin c , vitamin a and this oil cleanser)and my skin looks amazing .I just turned 40 and my skin is so hydrated and soft and my fine lines have improved. Here are pictures almost one year apart with no filters and natural light ... you can see a very clear difference. If I do wear very heavy make up I will use a wet wipe to remove most of the makeup then finish with the oil cleaner.
So far it's a winner! 5

Love this oil! This is perfect to use for my morning routine. It makes my skin feel very soft and not dried out like some other cleansing oils which can be more drying once you wash it off...
I highly recommend using this as a morning cleanser, different cleanser that foams off can be more drying... this one is more of a true oil.
I use a different cleansing oil that foams off for my *night time* routine so my products can absorb into my skin better.
Favorite Product 5
Jacob from Undisclosed
I use MadHippie for all my face care products but the oil cleanser is my favorite. It is the most hydrating treatment (Cleanser) I have ever used. I enjoy letting it soak and clean as I put a warm cloth on my face. When I wipe it off my skin is just glowing. This is magic in a bottle.
Absolutely perfect 5

Superior cleansing oil. Suitable for breakout prone skin. Has a great smell and works well to remove eye makeup-up without stinging. Use a warm wash cloth for rinsing. Great for double cleansing or by itself. Leaves baby soft skin. I use this every evening. Love the clean ingredients.
