Most Helpful Positive Review Best hair dryer I've ever used I've had this product for less than a week, but I fell in love the first time I used it. I did a ton of research before purchasing, but was still nervous because there are so many similar products available, all different price points. I have fine, thin hair that holds water, so before using the hot tools styler I combed out my hair with a leave in conditioner and let it air dry partially. Then I added a thermal protectant and started styling. I haven't used the high setting because I haven't needed it. The low setting works just fine and leaves my hair smooth and shiny with fewer flyaways than a regular hair dryer. I have not noticed more volume, probably because my hair hangs to mid-back. And I noticed the "cool" setting doesn't feel cool at all. The barrel gets too hot for the air to cool, even on the cool setting, but I typically don't use that feature. I'm hoping the detachable brush is useful if I have to replace it due to wear. Overall, I'm extremely happy with my Hot Tools styler.
Most Helpful Critical Review Severely burned my hair! I bought this 2 weeks ago and thought it was amazing, untill I went to my stylist yesterday and she said my hair and ends were severely burned and singed. They had become almost crunchy. She had to remove 3 inches to get rid of the damage. I am devastated that it will take a year to grow back that 3 inches, the high settings is way too hot but the low setting takes forever to dry your hair. I refuse to get up at 4 am everyday to spend an hour drying my hair on the low heat setting. If you decide to buy this product just know that it will damage your hair severely. I use heat protectant every time I blow dry my hair and that did not save my hair from this horrible product. I am totally devastated by this

Stopped working after 8 months, unit wouldn't even turn off- Ulta only covers a SIX MONTH warranty despite the manufacturer covering a YEAR at least. Save your money and buy from somewhere else.
Best for thick curly hair 5
CurlyHead from Kentucky
I have been using this for more than a year and it's still going strong. I have thick curls that are chemically treated. I find that this dryer delivers (in high heat setting) just the right amount of heat to tame the frizz and smooth out my hair. It's a holy grail. Light weight too! Cons would be that because it's so powerful it can get "smokey" depending on what products you put in hair also... and that it's loud but these are just minor side notes compared to how many problems it solves for a curly head such as myself.
Professional Blowout Look and Feel! 5
BCBoo from Idaho
Professional Blowout look! Beautiful shine and volume! I have naturally curly hair, semi course/frizzy and this tool has eliminated the need for a flat iron, less heat time = better hair health. It's a voluminous blowout and flat iron in one step! My hair is much healthier since quitting a blow dryer!

I bought this hoping I didn't have to blow dry and straighten my hair. This item left my hair so puffy I still had to use a straightener. It took a lot for it to smoothen out.

Good Product But Has Some Issues 4
Hydra311 from Atlanta, GA
It's a good item. I would recommend getting the one with the 'detachable' head since you can buy replacements. This product IMO gets WAY to hot! Even on Low it melts the bristles after a short period of time which in turn will damage your hair and not leave it smooth and shiny. I would recommend this one over any others since that seems to be the main issue with all of them. Still better than trying to juggle a blow dryer and brush. Either lower the heat or make the short bristles sturdier and able to hold up under even Low heat for longer than a couple of months (and that's just using it a couple of times a week)
LOVE THIS 5
Shea from Holland, mi
I never write reviews but I loved this enough to do it. Saves so much time and looks soooo good after. I haven't had any burning while using high heat but I always keep it moving. Don't just sit the brush in one area and hold it there, that goes with all heat- gotta keep it moving to avoid damage.

Best product ever 5
Tooth fairy from North Carolina
This is the best product for natural hair. I am 3c/4a in texture and this made my hair super smooth and straight. All I had to do was lightly follow it up with my flatiron. Also the brush isn't too hot or uncomfortable and I used it on the highest heat setting. I did use 100% argan oil as a heat protectant and got awesome results. I sectioned my hair into 6 sections and was able to quickly go through it without my arms getting tired. My crown or the thickest part of my hair got super smooth too. When I was done my hair felt like I had been to a Dominican salon. I definitely recommend this. I may have to replace the brush head after multiple uses but this to me was worth everything I paid for it.
Great Customer Service 4
Marsha from SC
I bought this blow out brush at Ulta a little over a year ago. At that time I registered it and filed the original receipt. Yesterday, while I was using it I heard a loud pop and it quit working. I called their customer service number, told them what happened, and they immediately sent me a new one. The blow dryer brush works great to dry and style my thick, long, hair.
Extremely poor quality- would last only for few months 2

I liked not a LOT - game changer for styling hair at home. Be ready to replace it every few months- unfortunately quality is one of the lowest I've ever seen

Do NOT buy this 3
Silver Unicorn from Oregon
U bought this Dec. 2020 almost all the bristles have melted or fallen off due to heat. it started to get so hot I couldn't even touch it.Then it started making a funny noise and was SMOKING! I immediately turned it off and will be throwing it out. I am really bummed because in the beginning it was great. I chose Hot Tools because of quality, guess I was wrong.

Works well with my thick and coarse hair. I also have natural wavy/ curly hair and straightened it out no problem.

Great for Drying Thick Hair 4
Rini from California
I have really thick, long, straight hair. Usually takes me 40-60 minutes to fully blow dry my hair, with this tool it only took me 20 minutes! It gets very very hot, so please be careful. I didn't like how even if I held it at the plastic part at the top of the brush, it would still burn my fingers. And when I was drying my bangs it blew a very hot gust into my eyes—which wasn't ideal for my contacts and I had to put it down to wait for them to remoisten lol . Overall would recommend if you want to cut down drying time but be careful if you're sensitive to heat or are a contact wearer.
Better than a blow dryer! 5
Karen from Las Vegas
Honestly, I went in store and came across an aisle with these hair brush blow dryers. There was quite a bit to choose from, some less expensive and some more expensive, so I didn't know which would be the better one to get. I asked the girl working their her thoughts and she pointed me to this one. I bought it and it's been a blessing. It's better than straightening my hair because it doesn't leave it flat. It creates the perfect volume and my hair does not look dried out like with a regular blow dryer. I highly recommend.

I've only had mine for about two weeks so based off the comments I hope mine doesn't stop working but... so far so good! I love it! I have thick/wavy/frizzy hair and I've always had a hard time taming it but I use this dryer every time after I wash my hair and I can honestly say it pretty much straightens my hair for me. My hair drys so fast and feels amazing! I highly recommend.

Handy! 4
Frizz B. Gone from Florida
I have wavy, medium thickness, frizz prone hair.
At first I thought it was a little weak and wanted to return it, but then after 2 more uses I got the hang of it and it's actually quite nice. I can make my hair super straight or add volume. It's very great for a quick blowout and it's very lightweight!
Best all in one blow out hair dryer 5
Don't have one from Rock Island IL.
After shampooing I use it to smooth out my hair and keep the frizzy's down ,which usually happens with just a regular blow dryer. On the days I don't shampoo, I use it to to re-style and re-smooth!
