Great for acne
I was suffering from hormonal breakouts for 3 weeks. I had big, painful pimples on my chin. My friends suggested using this soap and tea tree oil. It worked! I washed my face with this soap every night, then applied two drops of tea tree oil onto my chin. My skin cleared up within 3 days.

This product does not works like a black soap should. It didn't get rid of any acne or black spots. This product was a waste of my money.

This is NOT claiming to be the OG
There are many people who complain because they say this isn't the REAL African Black Soap. That's because this is SHEA MOISTURE'S VERSION. This products' claims are that it will cleanse, moisturize, and soothe dry skin. The "real" African Black Soap claims that it will cleanse, exfoliate, minimize breakouts and dark spots. If you are buying Shea Moisture in hopes that it will do the latter, I suggest you do not purchase this. Buy the other one instead because the Shea Moisture one will NOT meet your needs or expectations. As for MY review and experience with SHEA MOISTURE African Black Soap, I have been using this to wash my face for as long as I can remember. I have sensitive, acne prone skin and this is one of the few soaps that did not cause additional breakouts or irritate my skin. I use it to wash my makeup brushes and sponges as well because I do not want to use a soap that my skin does not like. It does wonders getting all the makeup and oil out from my makeup applicators. I do not and likely will not use any other soap for my face because this one does exactly what it claims to do and that is exactly what I need for my skin. Do your research and learn the differences between other variations of this soap and do not assume that they all have the same exact claims.
This is not Real African Black Soap.
Black soap is just an ingredient in this. It also has Parfum which defeats the benefits black soap has for sensitive and dry skin types. I'd suggest getting the real thing which is BROWN btw.

I've always been a big fan of Shea moisture and this black soap is the GOAT! Especially if you're coming from a family that has eczema 10\10 and the smell is so delightful !!!!
