Most Helpful Positive Review Great matte finish, long lasting
I never really appreciated how much of a difference a matte setting spray would have until I started using this regularly.
I've always heard that you want to use a finishing spray because your make up lasts longer. It's really true. Normally half way through the day my face is already starting to look shiny and a lot of the makeup rubs off. This spray didn't feel sticky, dried to a matte touch finish really quickly, and made a big difference in terms of how much my eye makeup still showed throughout the day. I have used it for a few weeks and I never felt like it clogged my pores. If you're in a hurry maybe you could skip this step but for a night out, for photos, or for a special occasion this is definitely a must-use.
Most Helpful Critical Review Great Matte Power, But....
I am used to the regular all nighter mate formula. When I saw this I was SO excited because I have extremely oily skin, so anything more matte works for me!! Make sure you aren't wearing your outfit yet, it leaves little white spray dots EVERYWHERE including your face. Yesterday I sprayed it on top of my foundation, patted out the leftover white spray spots with my beauty blender and then added my setting powder. It worked better than the last time I had used it—I had little dry white spots all over my face and clothing and in my hair. I even found some all over my floor, thought it was paint splatters (but I didn't have any work done so I was confused until I figured out it was the setting spray on my floor lol)
5 stars for the matte power, but it got a few taken away from the mess it makes and the extra steps you need to take to make sure it's not leaving behind little white dots EVERYWHERE. I wear black a lot so it's a problem.

Works as it says, keeps makeup from coming off on my face mask. Would have gave 5 stars, but couldn't because of the odor. This product STINKS, I mean it really stinks. I have to spray at least an hour before I leave my house, just to allow time for the stink to dissipate. If you can get past the odor, it does a good job.
i probably wouldn't

i used this on top of my Hydro grip primer and when I sprayed my face with this setting spray it didn't even look matte I just looked kind of oily it didn't look like a dried down it two hours later looks the same had to reapply my milk powder. if this doesn't work for me then I am scared to use the original version. but do you know my face is a mix combination between oily and dry
Would not buy this again

Definitely would not recommend left a white film all over my face and my newly finished floor.
Doesn't work on oily skin
anonymous from Texas
Does not work on oily skin. My skin was just as shiny and oily as if I wasn't using any product. I was seriously wishing this would work on oily skin especially with the price, but I don't see this as any more effective than drug store brands. Very disappointed

Thought this would be comparable to the other UD setting spray I have. Idk if it was just the bottle, but it continually sprayed very large white droplets. Didn't matter how much I shook it, or wiped off the nozzle.
Works great but is a little think

Works well - holds makeup in place all day

There has never been a product By urban decay I didn't like until now. This leaves white spots ALL over. Not just my face.. gets on my clothing and in my hair. No matter how much I shake the bottle and clean the nozzle.
Caitlin from Chattanooga, TN
Have been using the regular spray for a very long time and like a mix between glowy & matte so decided to give this a try. I've notice the only think is to shake it before use sometimes if you spray it directly to your face you get some white spots from this formula. I will spray it like perfume and walk into it. Will buy again as my makeup STAYS PUT even with wearing a mask off and on.
Made it Work for me
Annabelle from California
When I first used the product I was not happy with the white milky spots. I mixed the original All Nighter and the Ultra Matt together. Keep in mind I had the big holiday sized bottle of original. My mix was approx. 1/3 original to 1 full size bottle of the Ultra Matt. No more milky white, sprays just like the original. Would have given a better rating if I did not have to mix it.
Best setting spray for oily skin!
Jenna from NY
I have been looking for a setting spray that best suits my needs and this is the one. I tend to shine and have oily type skin especially with a full face of make up. This completely stops any oily feeling or look. I wish the scent of this product was better but I can deal with it for the results.
Had my doubts but now it's my go to!!
Lex from Portland
I work at a restaurant for about 10 hour shifts. I swear a lot, i'm super oily, and i have to wear a mask. It's not a great combination. I saw reviews on here saying this helped everything stay in place. I was skeptical at first, especially with my skin type, which makes it hard for my makeup to not shift. I purchased it, and I do not regret it at all!!! I cake my face before work, spray this baby, put my mask on, and work away, and my makeup hardly shifted!!! Yes, some did come off, but it was hardly noticeable! my makeup always shifts on my nose because the mask touches it and I get really oily there. I usually blot it, but it makes it worse. With the spray, I don't blot or touch up, just in case if it makes it worse. But it looks amazing! I definitely recommend if you're looking for something to hold it down if you're wearing a mask and/or have issues with oily skin!!!
It doesn't spray mist more like droplets

Great for oily skin!

I always use my HG/OG Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray.
When I saw and found out Urban Decay made an "Ultra Matte" formula of my HG/OG setting spray, I ordered this online right then and there.
The only drawback I find with this is you have to make sure you shake the bottle REALLY WELL.
Otherwise you may find white spots on your face after it sets. I wasn't aware of why this was happening and apparently it is the "clay" in the formula and needs to be shaken thoroughly before you spray.
I just find that as a drawback since I have to make sure EVERY time I spray this that I don't have white spots on my face when it sets.
However I DO find my very oily skin stays matte longer and keeps my makeup stay put with this Ultra Matte formula.
Definitely recommend for oily skin.
Just make sure to SHAKE THE BOTTLE THOROUGHLY!
BWebb from Tennessee
I've used the Urban Decay All Nighter previously but switched to the Ultra Matte because my skin has become increasingly oily. So far, I am pleased with the product. The only thing is when I spritz over my face, the spray does not come out evenly. This may just be a defective product and need to take it back to the store. Otherwise, I've been, please.
White spot attack ...
Ashley from Los Angeles, CA
I was so excited when I first saw this as I have extremely oily skin. Well I sprayed it all over my face and it left white spots ALL OVER EVERYTHING. My face, my shirt and my hair. I had to try to blend it in with my foundation brush but it had already dried. I will definitely be going back to the regular all nighter spray.
White Splotches... Not the look I was going for.
Courtney from Washington, IL
The possible "ultra matte" feature of this might be great (I didn't really experience it), but the white splotches that came out as soon as I sprayed it were not worth it. Trust me, you do not want to have a family member asking you what that white splotch is on your cheek. Definitely my least favorite purchase.
Kris from VA
I LOVE and LIVE BY Urban Decay's setting sprays but this one was a HUGE MISS. It seems as if they tried to incorporate a powder base for this spray, however it comes out with A TON of white residue that stays on the skin and does not dry clear.
Lauren from Houston
Super disappointed... I love the regular all nighter and figured this would be great too. It does leave a matte finish but- white specks everywhere. Thought I had dandruff for a second but it was just the spray in my hair :l and all over my clothes!! Going to return.

This product works well with my makeup lasting for several hours. I would have given 5 stars but it also leaves behind little whitish specks. I used my fingers to blend them in.
Don't get this!!
anonymous from Wisconsin
It leaves a white, dusty coating on your skin (and hair if it gets on it). Sometimes even large white splotches that are very hard to get off without taking your makeup off.
OMG THIS STUFF IS AWESOME

So I have tried many setting sprays even the All Nighter spray by Urban Decay, and I will have to say the All Nighter Ultra Matte makeup setting spray is THE BEST BY FAR. I put my make up on the morning and it stays on until I remove it at night. It does not come off on my mask at all like other setting sprays I have used. Which is a major plus. I have read some of the reviews about this spray leaving white spots on your face after it has been sprayed.... you need to shake it up and prime it and you won't have them at all. Also for people who say their face is oily after they use the spray well I say you probably have not prepped your face. Cleanse and moisturize your skin and you should have no issues with this spray. I will only use this spray please don't stop making this. It's a keeper in my make up routine.
