Comments about Sun Bum Mineral Sunscreen Lotion SPF 50:

I have sensitive skin and can't use Sun Bum's non-mineral sunscreen offerings, so I was really hopeful that this would be a good alternative. Unfortunately for me, I ended up with hives (even though the patch test was fine). If you're super sensitive, too, this might be a skip.

For people with less sensitive skin than me, I think it's overall an okay product. It does leave a whitecast, but it's not too bad AND it seems to be an effective sunscreen.

I used this running errands and reapplied once specifically before an outdoor workout -- it definitely held up well to normal use, but moved around significantly during my run. The slippage was pretty obvious because of the streaking on the whitecast, but I don't think it's any worse than other mineral sunscreens I've tried in that respect.

Worth noting -- the smell is stronger and fruitier than the non-mineral version (which smells more of coconut to me).

Comments about Sun Bum Mineral Sunscreen Lotion SPF 50:

i love sunbum's products since they are a cruelty free brand and i was so excited to see they came out with a mineral sunscreen. the protection of this product is great, however when i apply it it leaves a sort of white cast that leaves me looking a little blueish/purple? i also wish it came in a bigger bottle since the recommended amount of sunscreen youre supposed to apply daily is about 1oz and this is only 3oz...

Comments about Sun Bum Mineral Sunscreen Lotion SPF 50:

This was horrible on me. It's heavy and hard to blend in and left my face ghostly and washed out with how white it left my face. I am taking this back and switching back to my Cerve lightweight sunscreen as that works 100% better than this did for me.

Comments about Sun Bum Mineral Sunscreen Lotion SPF 50:

I bought this mineral sunscreen after experiencing a reaction on my face and lips to a chemical sunscreen. I've used it several times thus far with good results. It is lightweight and has a slight tint that eliminates the issue of a chalky residue left by some products containing zinc oxide. It applies like a very sheer foundation and was not greasy looking at the end of the day. Because I live in a very arid climate I applied this product over my regular moisturizer as I would for foundation. I suspect anyone with both sensitive and oliy skin would especially like the non greasy formula.

          Prevented Sunburn at the Beach

          By TexasMike

Comments about Sun Bum Mineral Sunscreen Lotion SPF 50:

I put my first layer on at 7am. Got to the beach at 2pm. Put on a 2nd layer. Sweat all day long on the beach. Left at 5pm. No sunburn! The sunscreen that I put around my eyes did get into my eyes when I sweat and irritated them. But that happens anytime I am sweating heavily with sunscreen on. It was a hot late June day in Galveston Texas. Also the pina colada fragrance didn't irritate my skin, and I have sensitive skin. Good formula!

A Sunscreen that Doesn't Break Me Out

              By Patrick

              from Chicago

Comments about Sun Bum Mineral Sunscreen Lotion SPF 50:

Finally, a sunscreen with high coverage that doesn't make me look greasy and cause breakouts! Plus it smells amazing long into the day.

The only downside is that it does sting a bit when applied, but my skin doesn't get red and the sensation goes away in about a minute.

              Otherwise, fantaatic!

This does apply a bit white, but that isn't an issue for me. Then again, I am relatively pale to begin with.
