Leaving a Positive Legacy for Our World

Environmental, social, and governance has long been an Ulta Beauty priority and is embedded in all aspects of our overall strategic planning. In 2021, we evolved our longer-term business strategy and ESG approach to better reflect the evolving role that beauty will play in people’s lives today and tomorrow. Our 2021 ESG report shares our commitments and progress across four pillars:

  • People - We champion inclusion and opportunity in beauty for all. And we want all associates to feel that they belong at Ulta Beauty and can be their true, authentic selves. Becoming the most admired retailer by associates and guests by offering meaningful work, a diverse and inclusive workplace and competitive benefits
  • Product - We empower guests to make more informed and sustainable product choices. Offering a broad product assortment that meets guests’ evolving needs, including clean beauty and sustainable products through Conscious Beauty at Ulta Beauty™
  • Environment - We strive to protect the beauty of our natural environment. Maintaining the beauty of our environment us by managing our stores’ energy, water and waste footprints and committing to establish science-based targets to reduce emissions in partnership with the Science-Based Target Initiative (SBTi)
  • Community - We improve the lives of women and families in our communities. Improving the lives of women and families in our communities through support of both national and hometown partners

The report also describes Ulta Beauty’s strong corporate governance practices, diversity-forward actions, and commitment to operating an ethical business. Finally, it includes disclosures aligned with the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) Index, an industry-specific reporting framework that allows investors to more easily compare ESG performance across industry peers, Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), and an ESG Fact Sheet.

Through our Conscious Beauty platform, we empower guests and help them identify clean products. Our guests can purchase items that have clean ingredients, are cruelty-free, vegan, have sustainable packaging and make a positive impact.

Supporting the Community: Our National Partners

  • Breast Cancer Research Foundation

    Our monetary donations to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation support a range of research efforts including new treatments and further understanding metastatic disease. Since 2019, we have raised over $37 million for the foundation.

  • Save the Children

    We support Save the Children by having an in-store point of sale program and raising awareness among guests. We have raised $2.3 million for education and emergency response programs since 2016.

  • Dress for Success®

    We support Dress for Success through financial resources, products and volunteerism. Since 2017, we have donated $500,000 to the organization and helped over 22,000 women in 35 U.S. cities.
