This tanner has a very nice smell, not your typical self-tanner smell. It has a spray bottle that you spray on the mitt and apply wherever you'd like. It is a nice natural tone, that is dark enough for me. I have a golden-colored skin, so any product that comes out slightly orange, looks super orange on me... not this one! It's amazing. I would touch up every other day if you want to keep it up. If not, it may fade away within a few days. Highly recommend! The picture is what it looks like after one coat, right away. It gets darker throughout the day.
I, too, have tried many many different kinds of sunless tanners and I'm still searching for the perfect one. I am nearly convinced it doesn't exist. Ha! This Spray smells lovely (like tropical coconuts) but its fairly strong. After developing, it does have that hint of "sunless tanner" smell, but it's bearable. The color guide is a nice brown and develops quickly. Slight rub off, but not as bad as others I've tried with a color guide. But after showering (and especially after shaving) the color you are left with is a light tan...like a natural olive skin tone. I applied two nights in a row and the color looked the same. Perhaps if you applied daily you could get that dark brown color, but for the cost, I don't find that feasible. Did clog the pores on my décolleté as well. Little brown dots are quite unattractive. As it's fading, it is a little splotchy. Not quite alligatory, but uneven. It does exfoliate off fairly easily, though. Applying with the mitt was easy enough, but I felt a lot of the product was wasted---I felt I needed to spray a lot to get the coverage I desired. Therefore it didn't go as far as I was hoping. Not practical for the price. Even though the product is good, it's not the dark tan I was looking for. I returned the product. But if you are looking for a natural, nice smelling sunless tanner, this one is decent. Just not for me!

Probably the best self-tanner on the market. Goes on streak free and blends well with my skin!

I bought this on a whim when it was on sale and a lady buying a few bottles told me it was her favorite beauty product of all time. She wasn't joking! I didn't prep my skin but needed to even out a farmer's tan and it provided amazing results. It's a deep gorgeous brown and I built it up with 2 layers. I applied it to my legs as well and it looks like I've been in Mexico for two weeks. It's also lasted several days so far. I'm a lifer. Thanks for the recommendation, random lady!

I'm a huge fan of Fake Bake. Their products never leave me streaked or orange. It's very natural looking and I always get complements from people.

This was working great for me until day seven, when I started to develop an itchy rash on my lower back and the sides of my stomach area, and had to stop using it. It's really unfortunate because to date it's the only tanning solution I've used that's given me the perfect natural-looking, glowing tan, without streaking, rubbing off onto clothes or coming off the next day. Plus it smells amazing, coconut in there and something else tropical. It also goes on evenly with the mitten (supplied with it), dries quite quickly and lasts 3 or even 4 days on me. I believe the high alcohol content caused the rash in my case, as I've used almost identical formulations in the past, in terms of ingredients, the only difference here being the alcohol. Despite my negative experience, I also know it won't be the same case for everyone, as I have a few friends who've been using this for years and swear by it. In any case, definitely not for those who are sensitive to alcohol. -> My 'Ulta Beauty Top 7 must-have list' (My 7 favorite beauty products of all time, focusing mainly on my purchases at Ulta) < - < 1. First time using this product. I would use again. Easy to apply and love that it came with a mitten. That was very helpful. It dried very fast and also went on without streaks. Having a tinted shade as applying help to sho you where you had applied and kept you on track of any spots missed!

Great product. Easy to apply and nice even color. Fades well, too.

I've been using Flawless since 2012 and the old formula was great with instant natural looking tan. I don't know what they did but this new formula in a white bottle is absolutely horrible. It has a chemical smell and the color doesn't blend or develop well. To make matters worse, after a few weeks of use, the color now developes into a dirty orangy look and doesn't blend at all. The smell has gotten worse. Fake Bake should ashamed of themselves for putting out this garbage. Absolute HORROR. Avoid like the plague!

Love it - it looks so natural and not orangey at all! Lasts a week or so and is buildable for a darker tan. 10/10

I love this product, gives me a beautiful looking tan…. Just be careful with your clothes, it can rub off onto them if you get wet

I've gone through about 8 bottles of Fake Bake since 2012. I used up my last bottle a few months ago and without hesitation bought a replacement. Naively, it did not occur to me that the product could have possibly changed (even though change of packaging almost always means change of formula). I knew immediately upon application it wasn't right. I'm sorry to say, this new product is terrible. It smells different, doesn't blend or build like it used to, doesn't develop into the same depth of color, the undertone is different. It used to have the perfect purplish-brown/hint of red undertone. Now it's just a generic looking tan like something you'd get at a drugstore. It fades noticeably in a couple of days and by day three it's virtually gone. Doesn't fade nicely. It's basically the complete opposite of the wonderful Fake Bake I used to know. I have tried many tanners over the years and I always came back to this. I relied on it for giving me my perfect tan. It is very hard to find a self- tanner that looks natural on light-medium olive skin AND gives the right depth of color. This tanner was IT for me! Now I will have to start from square one to find a new go-to. What a shame to have ruined such an amazing product. I'd be thrilled if they brought back the original formula, but I don't see that happening. Sadly I won't be buying from them again. :(

It is different then any other sunless tan product I've ever used. The glove applicator makes it streakfree.

Looks ok going on but doesn't develop well. HARSH chemical smell that kept me up all night. Will be returning. Loved the old formula!

Goes on evenly and lasts at least two days. Only real complaint is that it can be a bit drying on the skin. Helps a lot if you wash the mit in the sink between applications to avoid streaking.

I've used this product for YEARS and it seems like in 2020 they changed the formula? What used to last a week is not like a day or two. It had the best fad and dark pigment and now its super blotchy and even after sleeping in it, not much pay off. I wish they'd bring the old formula back because it was the best self tanner on the market.
Ber from CA
I loved the creme formulation, however now they only sell the spray and I hate it. It gets everywhere, does not go on evenly, and doesn't last.

Bring back the old one!! Gone after one shower.

I used to get spray tans and the woman used this brand, after Covid lock down and not having a job for like five months I decided to do my own tans and purchased this only because I already knew I liked the spray tan I got. I have been using this since and am never disappointed! Such a beautiful color and it lasts and fades nicely, I highly recommend.

I've tried MANY different brands and types of self-tanner. This is by far the best. It was highly recommended by the sales associate and I'm so grateful for her recommendation!

I've used FakeBake for several years. It has always, until this year, provided a wonderful, streak-less, golden tan that lasted through several showers. Now after just one shower my tan is nearly gone. I am extremely disappointed and hope they correct this. I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this product any longer.

It's a super pretty tan but incredibly hard to tell if you have it on even until hours later. Need to apply every day as it fades quickly.

Context: my skin is cool pale with red undertones. I bought this self-tanner purely based on reviews, and it didn't disappoint. I've never used one before, but this will be my go-to. Before bed, I washed my face and applied this tanner. At first, I was nervous because it was splotchy (which was mostly due to my skin). But when I washed my face in the morning, it completely evened out to a beautiful sun-kissed glow. Love it!

This is my favorite self tanner, I've used it for years. It makes me look really tan but not streaky or orange. It's also easy to use & doesn't break me out. My only complaint is that it only lasts about 3 days. I usually put it on at bedtime & rinse it off in the morning. Then to help maintain it I use a gradual tanning lotion until I decide to reapply it. It is definitely comparable to a professional spray tan.

I am so excited. I have been wanting to try this for years, I actually bought the bottle about 6 months ago, I hadn't had the nerve to test it! I am extremely pale and freckled with a neutral undertone, so a streaky and orange finish would have been immediately noticeable and awful looking on my skin. I finally worked up the courage to test it a week ago, and all I can say is wow! Not a streak in sight, my skin tone went from bright white to the lovely olive shade I had as a child when I played outside! I have never tried a different self tanner, but so long as this one is on the shelves I see no reason to!

I am blonde with fair skin and over 60. Over exposure to the sun over the years WILL come back to haunt you. I now have age spots ALL over my legs and arms and about 2 years ago, skins cancers begin to appear, causing a trip to the dermatologist very 6 months to either have them removed or monitor new ones. I want to wear shorts in the Summer - yet was very self conscious. My daughter, who is learning from her Mom's sun exposure mistakes, had purchased Fake Bake and said it was really good - so I gave it a try. It comes with gloves and a mit to use to apply the product. It is very easy to do, it doesn't have that awful sunless tanner smell and best of all, it works! My legs immediately looked like I had spent some time in the sun, when in reality, I had spent about 15 minutes using this product. I did order the Fake Bake exfoliating wipes as well for the extra prep they recommended. I will using both of these products for years to come!
