I use this in conjunction with the Light Illusion Liquid Foundation, and I look amazing! After cleansing my skin, I use retinol lotion and let it soak in for a couple of minutes. I then apply the Supernova Celestial Skin Elixir. IMMEDIATELY, while I'm applying it, I can see a reduction in fine lines, especially the parentheses around my mouth. I allow the elixir to soak in for a few minutes, and then I apply the foundation. Instantly, my skin looks younger, radiant, and a lot smoother. It also does wonders for darkness under the eyes, in case you weren't able to get enough sleep. I have used other age-defying makeup, and I've been a fan of CoverGirl's Olay Simply Ageless (which I also love) for a few years. Both help with fine lines, and both offer radiance, but the Flower Beauty regimen, I described above, is now my go-to. I don't wear full makeup every single day, but when I do, this elixir and the Light Illusion Foundation make me glow and look fresh, clean, and seriously younger. Just this week, my coworker remarked how great my skin looks lately, and I attribute it to my pore vacuum and Flower Beauty products. If you are going to try the elixir, I recommend reading about how best to utilize it. Yes; you can wear it on its own, but it won't soak in right away. You have to give it a little time to do so. Apply it sparingly, because it goes a long way. I use a drop the size of a dime to cover my entire face in a generous but thin layer, and I still end up washing a bit off my hands when I'm done. It spreads out beautifully. Using too much will absolutely give you a greasy, slippery face, as some reviewers have described. When I wear the elixir, without makeup, I do the retinol, wait a few minutes, and then apply the elixir in a thin layer. After that, I don't touch my face again. I love this product and hope it's available for a long time to come!
I really wanted to love this product, but unfortunately it was a "miss" for me. Farsali's "Unicorn Essence" is my all-time secret weapon for "primer serums" category, but it's quite pricey! I've been on the hunt for it's less expensive alternative, which is why I impulse purchased this "Flower" elixir. It had my attention at a great price point, beautiful appearance, vegan status, and a great list of antioxidant rich oils; all of which had me EXTREMELY EXCITED to try this one out. I started with a freshly washed, clean "naked" face and opened the beautiful bottle to apply. It has a light, non-offensive scent which was a good start. I'll mention, I have dry to combination skin. I applied tear-drop sized dots on each cheek bone, cheek, chin, and forehead and then began lightly swirling with the pads of my fingers, until the product had been distributed evenly on my face and neck. YES, it illuminated evenly which was a plus, and was easily moved around and applied. At this point, my entire face was sparkly and "shiny" looking, yikes, .and it felt like I had just applied a very thin version of vaseline all over my face, double yikes,.but I continued. I DID NOT follow up with an additional moisturizer, as I sometimes do with "Unicorn Essence". I went straight to my liquid foundation—"born this way by too faced". EVERYTHING WAS A MESS from this point forward. Nothing blended evenly, or "set" properly with my makeup. I struggled through my normal makeup routine, and was pretty UN-JAZZED about the end result. I kept it on, resisting the urge to wash my face and start completely from scratch. I can honestly say that within an hour, I looked as if I had been "working-hard" an entire 12 hour day, ALREADY. I had "melting" with my mascara, foundation, brows, and contours THAT HAS NEVER HAPPENED with the products I had on. End Result: I'll be using this product EXCLUSIVELY on any part of my body EXCEPT my face, for a dewy skin glow. BUMMER.

I was so excited to get this product. I'm glad I tried it at home before going out with it on. First thing, this stuff smells like straight liquid plastic, like every time I put some on I think "Oof, this can't be good for your skin." That alone was enough to turn me off of the product. I can agree it is very greasy, and if you overdo it you will look like you put highlighter everywhere and you're going to a rave. In moderation on the right spots this could be nice but I would certainly not buy it again.

I absolutely love it! If you have dry skin and want a little shine this is for you! I use it everywhere.
Jenny from New Jersey
Pros: It's very pretty on the shelf.
Cons: This product has no idea what it is. Is it a primer? Is it a serum? Is it a highlighter? I don't know. It doesn't know. It's a bottle of shiny grease. That's it. Put this anywhere but your face.

Despite the bad reviews, I was very intrigued by this beautiful looking product and was very open minded to try it. First of all, it is absolutely gorgeous. I had high hopes that it would work as a light serum with highlights to wear on no makeup days. But from the moment I saw that it has a dry oil texture, I knew it would NOT absorb well. It's oily yet not at all moisturizing, so heavily scented it will make your eyes sting and swell, and completely useless as either a makeup primer or skincare product. It just doesn't absorb into skin, period, and feels heavy, itchy and disgusting! On top of that, the purple glitter completely dissipates once applied, making it also useless as a highlighter. Total fail, as this product is inappropriate for every aspect of use.

I wanted to love this but wow. Like everyone says it's so greasy and that's coming from someone with mature dry skin. I feel so disgusting every time I try it and then I have to add powder so my foundation doesn't slide straight off my skin, defeating any possible glow or healthy look. Maybe if you have perfect skin and want to add a glow without makeup or for bed. Probably going to return it.

Doesn't do anything. It smells good but it's SUPER greasy & there's no healthy skin benefits to it all.
Trisha from Michigan
I should have listened to the other one star reviews and skipped this one, but my curiosity got the best of me. This wears horribly under foundation. It has this weird stickiness to it after it "absorbs"(it feels like it doesn't fully absorb) and your foundation looks horrible with these weird clingy spots that feels like glue is on my face. It makes your eyebrow pencil leave clumpy weird spots on the tops of the brow. I thought I got a bad eyebrow pencil, but this only happens when I use this elixir first. I used two different pencils, one high end, one drugstore, and this happened the only two days I used this. What a waste of almost $20.

Dryer oil but does wonders on my combination skin on the dryer side - 37 years old and looking for stuff to enhance what I've got lol - my skin soaks it in and loves it

It's not for you if you're using it before makeup. I use it before going to bed as a moisturizer and it works Wonders!!!! It smells so good! And I just love it. I think it's so nice.

Had my face way too oily. Did not apply around my eyes but somehow went up to my eyes and all my eyeliner came off and it left my face looking and feeling so oily when I just used a little bit. Also enlarged my pores. Not for my skin, will be returning. Tarte's makeup primer is much better.

I use this every morning as my moisturizer and primer before applying CC cream. The CC cream applies flawlessly. The price is affordable and a little goes a long way. I have sensitive skin and have no issues with this. The scent is amazing! I have tried other products to see if "the grass is greener on the other side", but always come back to this. No more of that, because nothing compares!

I've been using this for about two weeks, my skin is so much healthy and so moisturized!

I use this either on its own or I mix it with my makeup to have a lighter application. It makes my skin smooth and soft. I think it is a fabulous product especially for the price point.

I love the Flower Beauty Elixir. It has a shine that makes my makeup go on so smooth and gives a glowing effect! Love it! I have dry skin and this adds hydration so I will definitely be a repeat customer when this runs out! A little goes far.
Audrey from maryland
it feels like oil. please keep that in mind. it's like canola oil on your face. does it make you more 'glossy' ? yeah sure, but also makes u look oily. I use it for removing my makeup, which it actually does a good job at. not a primer though. not at all
Michelle from Pittsburgh
I think this is supposed to offer a glow, but instead it feels extremely thin and greasy on the face. The shimmer is more of a shine so the result is a greasy shiny look. Doesn't sit with foundation.

I love this stuff. My skin is usually dull and I love the way it brightens my face.

I'm super disappointed in this product. It's so oily! I am 48 with fairly dry skin (aging) and live in a dry, cold climate. It just sat right on top of my skin and actually irritated my eyes. I can't imagine using this if I was prone to breakouts or lived in the humidity. The one nice thing I have to add is that it smells lovely, so I'll be using in on my neck, collar bones, and shoulders I guess.
Marzena from NY
I add this to a full coverage foundation for a radiant glow and to sheer it down. Will buy again.

I thought this was a glowy gel, or a lightweight serum that would be light and absorb into skin, leaving it moist & youthful. INSTEAD it is oily, feels greasy on and unless you are VERY dry, if you mix it with foundation prepare for it to be sliding all over your face. It sits ontop of the skin and I find it causes my makeup to smear, plus where I live it is very hot in summer and warm most of the rest of the time and when I sweat with it on it really gets awful. I think I will just use it up mixing it with body lotion and putting it on my legs and arms.

This product is beautiful, especially at first. It imparts a healthy, youthful glow to the skin. Looks incredible alone, under foundation, or as a mixing medium to make foundation dewier, less full coverage, and more skin like, which is how I like to use it. Just a couple drops mixed into my more matte, full coverage foundation, and it's a perfect amount of glow and much more natural finish.
I would not recommend this to anyone with sensitive skin, or anyone averse to strong scent. It's full of essential oils, including lavender and rosemary, which are skin irritants. It has a heavy rosemary scent. I would not consider this a skin care product. Quite the opposite. When it comes to skin care, simplicity is better, and this is chock full of ingredients with no proven benefit and many proven adverse effects.
That said, if your skin isn't sensitive and you have dry or normal skin, this looks beautiful. Would not recommend for oily or combo skin. You will be an oil slick within hours regardless of how you use it.

I was really surprised this didn't have any silicone in because it had the same kind of slip to it. I don't really enjoy that texture on my skin. I also don't enjoy glitter particles all over my face; I was hoping more for a subtle pearl. I returned this product, and I won't be purchasing it again, but I gave it 3 stars because, even with my deal-breakers, it did leave my skin extremely soft and well hydrated. Plus it didn't aggravate my sensitive skin.
lilmissmeow from Amsterdam, NY
I tried this based on reviews saying how well it worked under foundation to minimize the look of pores and allow for smoother application of foundation. I agree! It smells amazing, like lavender essential oil, not perfumy. It goes on smoothly and soaks in nicely, it doesn't feel at all greasy. It feels almost like a dry oil. There is definitely shimmer in it, gold flecks can be seen clearly close up, but adds a nice glow to the skin. I am pleasantly surprised at the quality of this product based on the price point. I look forward to trying more Flower products!
