I am currently being treated for leukemia, and chemo is really harsh on my skin. I get rashes and scabs and my skin dries and peels. My skin has also become super sensitive all over, so I've had to stop using my regular products and find something gentler. I remembered using Clinique when I was younger and how gentle it was, so I looked through their products and found this. The balm helps with moisture, which I then kick up a little bit with the Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel. The best part is that when my scalp started to get dry (no hair the past couple months), I just applied this to my scalp and like I do to my face and I get a clean scalp that's ready for a moisturizer too. I know this is meant to take off make up and to follow up with the 3-step system, but this gets my skin so clean and fresh feeling that I use it as a face cleanser all on its own. There are lots of little things that come from treatment that are just a reminder that the cancer is there, like pain and sensitivity. I really like that I can depend on this to help me feel normal, at least when I wash my face.
I have been using Clinique for over 30 years, and noticed a lot of changes (and not very positive ones at that). "Take the Day Off," in the old days was only sold as a liquid and did a great job! Now, I have both liquid and cream and neither removes non waterproof mascara or eyeliner. You'd have to rub your skin off to get it off and I really don't get all the positive reviews. Clinique needs to step up and either find the old ingredients used in their products that made them work or really go back to the drawing board!

I bought the small size to test out because an Ulta beauty salesperson persuade me to get this since it's "good for sensitive skin." I will have to say that is wrong, and I should have done 1 or 2 things… 1. Read the reviews before hand and 2. Should have gone with my gut feeling to not get it! I do remember trying this when it first was a BIG hype, and I didn't like it then, but decided to retry it, after being persuade to buy it. Anyway, the product after use when I massaged it onto my skin with makeup, then washed my face afterwards with LaRosche cleanser, my cheeks, chin, and forehead were red!!! No burning, but my face felt WARM when I had my hands near it, then with touch. I'm going to return this asap! I'm so glad I got the little size to try. Overall, if you have SENSITIVE SKIN wether that's from parabens, or other ingredients found in cosmetics and skincare… DO NOT BUY!

I have been using this for years. It has a great in-between of a product that works but is also gentle on the skin. The balm melts off eye makeup in an instant. I recommend using a facewash after using this because it can leave a slight filmy texture to the skin.

Only this product and Neutrogena cleansing balm get a great "clean" rating from EWG. Love this product. Takes my make up and sunscreen off easily.

I super loved this balm but a few times I noticed my pores were filling up with the melted balm and then after I'm done washing off I noticed raise bumps and popped them like acne but all that came out was the balm, it was gross but low key satisfying getting the junk out but after awhile it got annoying and I just figured I need to stop using balms. 5 stars if you don't have acne holes in your face!

Ok so I have mixed feelings about this product. It doesn't really do what I bought it to do. So I'm on the hunt for a new oil cleanser to add to my double cleansing routine. I was looking for a product that helps remove junk from my pores, helps keep the moisture in my skin, emulsifies well, and removes eye makeup. This product removes makeup like a dream, my eyes have never looked so makeup free using a makeup remover or another oil cleanser. This also emulsifies really well. However, it kind of dries out my face and I don't feel like it's cleaning my pores out at all. I basically feel like this is a really really good makeup remover but that's all...there's no helpful skin benefits. I'm wondering if the oil version would be the same. Another issue I have is just that it's in a pot. The employee that showed me this did not mention the oil version. I feel like pots get more easily contaminated with hand germs.

This product is incredible at removing makeup. Full coverage foundation, long wear eyeliner, and waterproof mascara all were able to come off easily with this makeup remover. It did leave my skin dry after every use, but adding some more moisturizer fixed it. After using it for a week, I suddenly got a stye on my eye. I couldnt believe it since I haven't had a stye since kindergarten! So, I took care of it and it was gone within a week. I didn't want to chance it, so I didnt wear makeup for another two weeks after that. Then, I started using this product again to remove the makeup and bam, got a stye again in a different spot. I've been using the same kind of makeup products for years and never had an issue before so I could assume that it was caused by this product. I then threw the product out, haven't used it in over a year, and my eye has been perfectly fine.

I am super weird about cleansing balms. But I absolutely LOVE this one! now you do have to use a cleanser after, as you do with many. but its one of my favs for sure! it breaks down the makeup super easy!

Melt make up instantly.

I couldnt figure out why my skin was so texturized and broken out. I stopped using this cleanser and my skin was better in two days. It also causes blurry eyes if use to remove mascara. Ill just stick with my tubing mascara, ordinary squalene cleanser, and the ordinary's SA in an oil based serum.

I used this for a week or so then left it home while i was on vacation. When i opened the jar it was covered in mold.

The ONLY cleaning balm that I love. It does remove all makeup especially waterproof mascara. I always have to use my waterproof mascara so you ladies know its hard to wash off. With this product it removes it all.

This is magic! I tried a sample and instantly fell in love with how quickly it melted my make up off. It's super easy to use and you don't need much at all to get anything off! Totally worth trying if your skeptical and once you do you won't be going back!!

I found this on a discount shelf and took a chance, loved it! It is more pricey than others BUT it's more potent and a little goes a long way! It also works immediately. I've used cheaper brands but you soon realize why they're cheap.

I love this product. I've been using it for a couple of weeks now, and it's the perfect product to take my makeup off before cleansing with a water-based cleanser. It makes my skin feel so clean and smooth. I also love the packaging - the purple is so stylish and there is a lot of product in this one jar! I also really like that it's unscented, which is great due to my sensitive skin.

Feels nice on face and neck. Works great for cleansing skin and make up removal!

I have tried other balms this seems to work better than any other one out there

Very good at removing water resistant sunscreen as well as mascara. It should be applied to dry skin, massage the face and then add water to face to emulsify to milky consistency. This emulsification is where the sunscreen, dirt, excess oils and makeup are removed. Then rinse off completely. I also wipe again with wet soft cloth. Skin feels soft and clean. Could do a second cleanse with non balm type cleanser but may not be necessary. Excellent product and company.

It is very gentle on my skin and does not make me breakout. It removes most of my makeup and spf, but it is difficult to remove my mascara and makes my vision blurry for a little bit.

Worst product ever very greasy does not remove mascara well recommended by beauty advisor don't think she ever tried it and blurred my vision a complete waste of money I will never buy Clinique again
Emely from Los Angeles CA
Ive used plenty of cleansing balms and this is definitely my least favorite it works well to remove makeup however if you put it anywhere near your eyes it will blur you vision i havent had that problem with any other cleansing balm wouldn't recommend
Jelica61 from Orlando, FL
This product is expensive and doesn't work. I have to use this multiple times and it still leaves the mascara. I would never recommend.

Nothing like the discontinued Neutrogena Cream waterproof mascara remover I'm used to.
