You need only a small amount--about the size of a pea--it costs nearly $20, but lasts a very long time. It says to use on wet hair, which works well. Sometimes I use it on the top of my head where my hair gets especially frizzy and dry--I wet my hands and rub on the top layer of hair. Then I wet my hands again and add a small amount of conditioner and rub my hands together to make the conditioner thinner so that it spreads better. I rub this on the damp hair, at it brings it back to life. Sometimes when hairspray gunks up my bangs, I wash just my bangs, then use a tiny amount of conditioner. It works like a charm. I am reviewing this product as part of contest.Most Helpful Critical ReviewThe effect wont last more than 4 hours.I went to the @livingproofinc aisle to a quick #DefrizzAtUlta and tamed my hair with a nice and fresh scent, that not only lasted through my flight but also got the work done for a few hours. What I liked the most about this product is that it felt weightless on my hair and had a fresh and almost unnoticeable scent. This product is super easy to use, just spray it wherever you need it and you're done. The packaging, the price are nice; boring but nice. My hair looked super tamed and a bit dull after one use and felt surprisingly soft. To be honest, I would like a Dry Shampoo version of the Living Proof Instant De-frizzer, for an even better result on girls that doesn't have time at all or have greasy hair, because the long term result is a bit messy... What I didn't liked about it is that it made my hair look greasy a few hours after I applied the product. Pro tip: it worked better, with a longwearing result when I applied baby powder to the roots of my hair before applying the Instant De-Frizzer. You can use makeup setting powder as well. What I do experience is static, especially in the cold New England winters! I purchased the travel size of this product to test out as the "finishing" touch on my style before leaving the house in the morning, or during the day for a touch-up (if you wear a winter hat you know what I mean!). I love it! I spray it on my hands & then just smooth over my ends or my crown to tame any static/fly-aways. Works like a charm. I haven't experienced any product build up (a little goes a long way anyway) & it's the usual light, clean LP scent. Since I use all/only LP products, A-OK with me! Another great use I've found is on my clip in hair extensions (100% Remy human hair) - after a few uses, I lightly mist with LP Advanced Clean Dry Shampoo & then I use some of this (again, I spray my hands first) & then smooth over the wefts.
