What impressed me about this product is both the applicator and of course the formula. I've had a chance to try many different liquid lipstick formulas and must say that if you enjoy a pigmented, longwearing, matte lipstick you should give this guy a shot. I have found that for the most flattering outcome, it's important to have hydrated, non-flaky lips (but I would say that's the case for almost all matte lipsticks). One coat is more than enough, otherwise it can feel drying. The amount that is on the wand is enough to cover my entire lips! It took me a minute to get used to the applicator because it's sort of pointed. Once I did, it quickly became my favorite liquid lipstick applicator because I can be precise with it. I don't find that I need to use a lipliner because it's just that precise and the formula doesn't bleed on me. One thing to note is that the formula is very thin and can actually spill and stain, so please be careful. Another thing is that Nars recommends shaking the bottle before use. I've forgotten to do this a couple times and I think the product separates a little. One of my colors transfers the teeniest bit after it has set... One quick blot and then it seems to be fully matte/transfer resistant. As with any makeup, oils remove this lip product so eating greasy foods does wear it down. That being said I've always found these guys to last me through an entire work day. Overall, I'm extremely happy with all the shades I've picked out and would recommend to anyone who loves a lightweight feeling, fully pigmented matte liquid lipstick.Most Helpful Critical ReviewPretty, but not the best formulaI got the "Rock With You" deep vampy purple color, and this was my first liquid lipstick purchase, so maybe this is the case for most liquid lipsticks, but as much as I love the color I can't commit to babysitting my lips often enough to feel the product was worth it. This lipstick transfers like crazy, wears really easily, is a bit too drying for my liking, and somehow always ended up on my teeth. It's a gorgeous fall color, and the stain it leaves behind is 10/10. I absolutely LOVE what my lips look like after I've given up on wearing the lipstick for the rest of the day and wipe off the excess. Pair Le Freak with the KVD lipliner in Lolita and you will have maximum staying power (thank me later). I love that it doesn't flake off as I have noticed with many other long lasting liquid lipsticks. I also love the shade American Woman. I bought this years ago in another color, that is discontinued, and it was great. What happened? This mess has no real coverage or pigmentation and migrated all over my face.
