Yes, the bottle does dry up and harden if you leave it open and don't wipe off the neck. If it does dry shut just use a pair of pliers to twist it open. Get the brush softener if you find your brush hardening after contact with the activator. The system is awesome and makes really hard acrylic nails easy.
Because we travel full-time I've decided to do my own nails. I have enjoyed this product in the past, but my last 3 bottles of base coat (bought in store and online) have come dried and sealed shut. Apparently the caps are leaking somewhere between production and customer. Customer Service sent me a coupon for 3 new bottles and free shipping but they had to be used online. When I checked out it accepted the product coupon, but then showed the full price at the end. And there was no place for the shipping coupon and the Help Desk was totally in the dark about how to check out online!

I've been doing at home dip for a few years using Revel powder. When their liquids stopped working for me, I tried this line of base coat, activator, and top coat. It works even better than the Revel liquids - my manicures last 2+ weeks without chips, and these small bottles have lasted me about a year. The tops do often get stuck to the bottle (I've found that common in all base and top coats no matter the brand) but I always wipe off the rim with acetone before putting the top on and use a gripper to open it the next time. Highly recommend!

I bought this because the base coat from the dip kit I ordered a while ago turned to gel in the bottle. The kit I had ordered is not a brand sold in stores. For some reason, when I put the base coat on my thumbs, the powder would not stick to part of the nail. Hopefully this manicure will last until I can order the base coat that goes with my kit

Will be buying this again.

I used this twice, and now I am unable to open the bottle. A lot of product seems to have leaked out and dried all over the bottle, which I suspect is what is preventing me from being able to open it.

This product works well for the first coat but then the brush gums up and is difficult to clean, even using the brush softener. After that happens, can only get two or three more uses from the bottle.

I actually wound up returning this before I ever got to use it. I had purchased this base coat and a couple of the dip colors and then realized that there were still several more steps (and items to purchase) for dip nail color. Way too many steps required and way too time consuming. Not worth it!

I was only able to do one nail before the brush got hard. The brush softener said it takes 30 mins to make it soft…

‼️Please‼️ listen to the negative reviews before you buy. Whatever is in the formula will coagulate and dry out on the brush before you finish one hand. It was my mistake that I bought this twice thinking it would be different with the second try! The powder is great, but stick with another brand for your base coat.

This product goes on easily and looks great. However, it barely lasts a few days without lifting or chipping. I used another nail powder dip system and I never have lift or chips from it. I am sorry that I spent so much money on the Dips system.

This worked awesome, better than the others I've used!

This product is all right. The biggest issue I have is re-opening the bottle after it's been used a few times. It doesn't matter how much I clean the neck of the bottle it's still seals tight. Also, it can get very tacky and thick about 75% of the way through the bottle. Overall it's a good buy.

The first two times I used this it was amazing. I loved how easy it was and the consistency was perfect. I went to use it the third time and the cap was sealed shut and when I finally got it open, it was gloopy and I could use it. It had only been opened for two weeks and it was already too bad to use. Complete waste

Works great!! Just follow the instructions, it's super easy and my nails look so good! So much better that's going to a nail salon and paying $40 for dip nails when now I can do on my own!

I use this product on a nail with a huge split that won't heal. Along with the activator and dip from Red Carpet, I can get the product to set and say on my nail for about a week. If I wash a lot of dishes or use a lot of water for chores, it does not stay that long (a couple of days) and will lift and start chipping off. It takes practice to deliver the desired results so it lasts a week, but once finished it looks close to a naked nail in color and shape. I use it along wih the activator and a neutral colored dip (Contract Please).

Love RCM dip system! The dip nails last about 10 days for me, which says a lot since I do a lot of dishes, laundry, gardening, cleaning, etc (often without gloves). Thin coats are really important, and don't hit the cuticle, or else it will look weird. Make sure to buff the entire surface of your natural nail before applying the base coat so it will adhere to the nail. Whole system, including tips and top coat, takes me about an hour. All in all, an awesome system and much cheaper than the salon!

I bought this in a pinch because my Two favorite base liquids glued themselves shut. It works for what I needed it for although it did take longer to dry than other liquids I've used.

I have found that the bottles can be reopened easily if you store then upright after opening. Don't bother traveling with used bottles unless you bring pliers to open. And they don't get gooey if you follow the directions closely. It's really important that the activator dries before adding another base coat , so I put it on wipe dry then still wait a bit and no goo. The top coat does make your nails shiny and buffing well as instructed makes the difference between looking professional and amateur. Yep, I've thrown away the gooey and stuck bottles before, but no longer.

I bought this because the one I was using before From sallys would get gooey after the first use. This one is much better. Does not get gooey, and I've already used it twice. It is smaller than the previous one I had but still worth the price.

I think this line works ok, however I feel like the base coat and top coat have an extremely strong chemical smell and sometimes make my eyes burn when I'm applying it.. don't think that's a good thing to be putting on ur nails. I always have gotten dip done at the nail salon and it was never that strong

I seriously don't understand the negative reviews. I have done dip nails for YEARS. This product is the most user-friendly line I have ever used. If you follow the directions, you will have NO problems. If you slap-dash through your nail routine, I guarantee ANY product will get gummy and dried up. You MUST tap and dust after you dip. Get ALL the excess powder off. Then, you MUST WAIT for your activator to dry AND gently rub excess activator off. Otherwise you are transferring activator to your base coat. My base/top coats stay perfect to the last drop.

I had to buy everything separately because the kit was sold out but I'm so glad I did. I can do my nails myself and way better than any salon! I'll definitely be saving money with this!

Get the whole kit. Use as directed. Very simple. Looks as good as professional. No UV light needed. Safer on your nails and your skin. My nails grow long and even more with this.

I like the way my nails look with the seductive star color. I made a mistake the first time and washed my fingertips from the color powder soon after my nails were done and it caused me to have a white film on them but a quick application of top coat fixed it.

Completely dried up into goo and was completely unusable after the first use.
