It is definitely one of the best I have used, but it isn't the absolute best. I have oily skin and was expecting this primer to be completely matte and it is not. It feels comfortable on the skin but I did not feel like it made much of a difference. I absolutely loved this primer when I used it. This and the hourglass veil were my go to holy grail items. I have combination-oily, acne probe skin. I live in miami, fl and off course it's year round summer with horrible humidity here. This primer is defintely underrated, it smoothed my skin, blurred my pores, locked in my makeup for hours and hours without budging with appropriate skin prep and setting - I use the urban decay de-slick setting spray (which doesn't contain pore cligging ingredients) HOWEVER, I did notice that I broke out consistently while using this. After reading the ingretients I realized that it contains algae and this is most defintely the culprit. Anything containing algae or marine products does not mix well with oily acne prone skin. I had to stop using it and switched over to the fenty beauty true matte promer which has no pore clogging ingredients and does not break me out. It would be nice for companies to care enough to be more informed and conscientious about the active, inactive and filler ingredients they use in products marketed for oily skin which is usually acne prone. There's a list of ingredients that are comedogenic that is easily accesible and it sucks to see how many companies fail the consumers they're targeting and profiting from by not caring about preserving the integrity of their consumers' skin when they add these problematic ingredients to their products.Love this product!5Bella from Easton, PaI've tried many different kinds of primers and moisturizers that say they control oil/ shine and none of them compare to this! I tried The Mattifier and this is it! Prepares a nice, smooth canvas which smoothes over my pores. Increases wear time and helps keep my face from shining at the end of the day. I have a dark skin tone and this primer blends easily into my skin leaving no residue, stickiness or visible white cast, unlike others I have tried. It has no fragrance and sits well under makeup. I use fairly lightweight foundations and have not had any issues with pilling or patchiness when applying over this. I find that I do run through this product quickly compared to my other mattifying primers.The squeeze tube is convenient and travel friendly. Seals well and stands well on my vanity.
