I have no idea, but my nails look absolutely amazing! I have not touched up in 7 days. I do dishes, wash hair, you name it! This product is great. It gives you the gel/ shellac look. This is the best polish ever. I will not do shellac/ gel again. I will go to my manicurasist and take this product with me. The way I use it is I use my opi strengthner as my base, then use the opi regular polish I use 3 coats, then I use my strengthner again then use the volumizing on top. I know it seems like a lot but it doesn't look thick at all and it dries quickly. My nails come out beautifully. My nails have not chipped at all either. It's been 3 days and no chip. I absolutely love this product. Got tired of the NailAid one, while very affordable the shine is no where near gel-like and the longevity was mediocre - about 4 days on the average. Felt it was time to try something new. Picked this one up and am quite pleased. I do get longer mani life - 5-6 days and the plumping effect is pretty nice. It is not exactly like a true gel volume or shine but pretty good for a non-gel product. Does dry pretty fast, it is very thick in consistency so initially I thought it would take forever to dry but surprisingly doesn't. I always keep a bottle of drying drops around but I am yet to use it with this product. Side note regarding the dry time - the very top layer dries fast, so if you lightly touch your nails against something or carefully put on a sweater for e.g. it won't budge. But the total layer of the product takes a little longer, so don't be fooled by that, i.e. if you push something against it will make a dent. Hope this makes sense. I have used it about 5 times already and have never had a smudge, and I am very impatient, always trying to do something obviously mani-hazardous without properly waiting. As I mentioned it's pretty thick so I feel it works best if you apply a really generous amount, i.e. pick up a lot on the brush when you apply. Otherwise it can get sort of tacky and not apply smoothly/evenly. Which in turn makes it a little messy, as you get some overflow on the cuticle, but I always use a thin, slanted eye liner brush to do clean ups. I guess this just adds up another 5 mins to the entire process. I received compliments all day yesterday from my girlfriends about how beautiful my manicure looked, and they thought my nails were done with gel polish! The dry time with top coat wasn't that long either! It definitely gives a plumping gel-like appeal. I used this with an OPI color, but an Orly base coat, and it still looked beautiful! I would definitely recommend this product!
