Love Cinnabar!I have loved Cinnabar ever since the first day our paths crossed back in 1980. I thought I met heaven on earth and I was right. Cinnabar is a beautiful and strong fragrance. A little goes a very long way. Because of this, I only wear it in the fall and winter and when I apply it, I spray it up in the air and then step under it to catch the mist. The scent is incredible and unique. I have never experienced anything else even close to this scent. I have gotten so many compliments on this fragrance. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE bring back the dusting powder, soap, and body lotion! It was often the only fragrance I owned - no need for anything else. I've never worn anything that people complimented more. Even others that wore Cinnabar said it smelled better on me. I recently needed to restock. I wasn't thrilled with the new bottle design, and was heartbroken to discover it didn't smell the same either. It's flatter and less spicy. There is a slight, weird, sour, citrusy scent I never noticed before. It doesn't last like it used to. The scent gets weirder as it wears. Not only does it not smell like Cinnabar, it doesn't smell good on me at all. Even my husband and son are telling me I don't smell like me. My spring/summer fragrance has always been Youth Dew. My mother would use White Linen in the spring/summer, but I could not wear it - I smelled horrible - it just didn't blend with my chemistry. I wear Cinnabar in the fall/winter which works very well for me as it is a little heavier. Everywhere I go, if they get close to me, they will ask what is that scent you are wearing? And, they cannot believe it is these fragrances that have stood the test of time. Also, shelf life has a lot to do with the fragrances going bad - they are made to use - not to just sit and gather dust! Mom bought me a gift box years ago and for whatever reason, I placed it in my cabinet and didn't use it. Recently, my 83 year old mom fell and broke her hip. One of her friends is in the same facility where my mom is at rehab. I spoke with her friend and smelled the wonderful scent of Youth Dew. It brought back so many good memories especially of my grandma wearing it. I loved her dearly and even feel the urge to break out her Aigner purse and wear Youth Dew! All the feels of the 80s for me. I went back home and found my perfume, lotion and powder of Cinnabar and Youth Dew. The last few days, I have been wearing Youth Dew and today, Cinnabar. With all of the stress and chaos of life right now, wearing them and smelling these wonderful fragrances bring a sense of nostalgia and takes me back to a time filled with wonderful memories when life was good and not as stressful.
