I have had everything from CHI, Remington, and hot tools but I am so thankful I came across this affordable titanium coated one. I just used it for the first time and I am in love with it. No pulling on hair, glides very easily, and is easy on the eyes. The only thing I had a problem with was fly aways, but that is probably because I need some heat protectant or was curling my hair with it. If buying a titanium straightener isn't in your budget, this is the best straightener you will get for a nice price!Most Helpful Critical ReviewWorks well for fine hairI like this product and it serves its purpose. For someone with fine hair who does not need high high heat, daily use and is on a budget it works wonderfully. However the plates do not close evenly across the iron. The only place the plates touch are at the tip of the iron, when you put hair through the plates it will still work like it is supposed to but can cause snagging or pulling of hair. Its easy to avoid as long as you're aware of the issue. It flashes red while it is heating but it wont ever fully heat up. It blinks constantly and hardly striaghtens my hair anymore because it is never heating up all of the way. My straightener of 10 years sadly broke on me, and I've gone through about 3 different ones to replace it before I found this one. It heats up fast & leaves my hair silky smooth. I don't feel like it snags my hair at all. I will say the numbers for the heat settings can be a bit confusing, but thankfully there is a nice chart in the instruction/care manual to help guide you in the right direction. Overall I am very pleased with my purchase! In the past we both used straighteners that made our hair frizzy or just didn't do the job good enough. we came across this non expensive straightener and have never ever had a problem with it in the past 5 years. 2 years ago we bought another one for travel purposes & a year ago i bought this for a friend because she loved mine so much. All 3 have never had a problem and get used often. My other friend also bought this straightener recently and loves it as well. Me and my mama have thick, fine & wavy hair while both of my friends have thick curly hair. It works perfectly on all 4 of us and gives us all the same results. I am a cosmetologist so i use this straightener on many friends and family members (with different textures & wave patterns) and it always does a great job. i would like to include that this canNOT be used to curl hair because the plates glide super easily causing the hair to come off the plates when trying to form a curl. BUT it is amazing for straightening giving a smooth non frizzy result. Ive dropped it on tile floor soooo many times and it has not broken. It has been working so well since i got it. It heats up quickly & it automatically turns off after 45 min. It does get very hot so if you have long thick hair you will probably love it. For thin hair the first setting should work fine. I really like this one because it works a lot better than the higher end ones. its also wider than the average flat iron which makes it easier/faster to straighten long hair. I always get compliments on my hair being so sleek. I absolutely love it! it has not let me down so far after 7 years. I even bought a back up one during covid (2020) in case Ulta became permanentally closed. This is the best flat iron i have ever had, and I've had several. Amazing quality for a good price.
