Although the shade I tried, L30-N, was a little too dark for concealing, I still tried it under my eyes in addition to even using as an all-over skin tint to even my complexion. It wasn't light enough to highlight with and it really wasn't dark enough to contour with. With that being said, I do like to brighten my undereyes most of the time, but occasionally I prefer a more natural tone, blending in with the rest of my face and it did great at that task. Although the shade wasn't ideal, it was the formula itself that made all the difference and this product most definitely shined there. It's a super lightweight formula that blends into the skin with ease. It does dry down fairly quickly, but you have time to work with it beforehand. Once it's dried down, it holds up beautifully! I didn't experience any creasing and it was also buildable. In addition, did I mention the lasting power? I could barely see a difference from the morning application until the evening when it was time to remove. I can't wait to get more shades for brightening as a concealer, highlighting, and contouring. With a formula this special, I want it all. Added bonus....I'm also very pleased with the skin loving ingredients infused throughout. Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin E, and Green Tea! My skin loves reaping those benefits! I also appreciate the convenience of this formula housed in a pen shaped component that allows for ease, speed, and better precision & control! An optimally performing, multi-use formula that allows me to conceal, color correct, highlight, & contour! I love it and if you're like me, you can even use it all over! Regardless how you decide to use, it's truly a beautiful product!Most Helpful Critical ReviewChoose Color CarefullyThe Smashbox Halo pen concealer can be used in multiple ways including highlighting, correcting and contouring in just a few clicks. I received a shade that is too dark for me (D20-N) so I would have to use it as a contouring color only. The range of shades and undertones is ok. It would be great if the shades online were closer to the actual product shade. Online the shade looks like a great match but it ended up being much darker. The shade on the outside of the box also doesn't match very well. I placed a line of the concealer on the outside of the box shade to show the vast difference in color. I would recommend improving the shade display. The formula leaves a radiant finish which supports its claim for a "healthy glow". There is lightweight, medium coverage that can be built up for fuller coverage. It dries down fairly quickly. The pen tip is soft and provides a smooth application.
