It's bleached, toned, and then glazed (all Matrix brand), which takes a TON of time and work. I also typically use a salon-brand purple shampoo to help ward off brassiness. I've been frustrated with how dry and dull my hair has become, but I know it's my own fault! When I saw this new Food for Soft line by Matrix I was excited yet skeptical. Jaded, perhaps. I feel like nothing has really come close to hydrating and revitalizing my over-processed hair…and was seriously considering cutting it as a last resort. However…THIS STUFF IS THE REAL DEAL!!! I can't believe how well this shampoo works - it cleanses without stripping, has a velvety and rich lather, and the smell is DELIGHTFUL. I'm talking probably the best-smelling shampoo I've ever used! I'm now a true convert and will be purchasing another bottle once I run out. This shampoo lathers really well with just a little bit. Now I tried the shampoo on 3b-4c hair (6 Different heads), and it worked well with everyone's hair! I LOVE WATER is the first ingredient, but I do have a problem with the ingredients that follow like sodium laureth sulfate (SLES) and (SLS) Sodium lauryl sulfate, as these are both well know sulfates that can lead to kidney damage and hormone disruption. Sodium chloride strips colored, and processed hair, and it dehydrates hair and scalp. For people with sensitive hair to silicone, there's amodimethicone and dimethicone in this shampoo. My hair felt cleaned and refreshed but not stripped dry. I have curly coily hair that loves a good hydration drink. When my hair is hydrated right my curls are on point and that is what this product helped to do. The scent of this produt is amazing too. A soft flora smell that isnt too strong in the shower. I also like that the bottle was an easy squeeze tub bottle. The plastic surprisingly soft and I liked that a lot. Winter season is here in my area and the cold air tends to dry out my hair but this has help a lot. I used this in combination with Matrix's hair mask.
