There's a reason more blades in a cartridge outsell single blades: more blades shave smoother. I happen to have a very expensive razor that takes single blades and regardless where I get them, I find that a single blade is more difficult to control than a fixed muti-blade razor. Arguably, single blades shave closer...sometimes almost too close. That often-forgotten nemesis "razor burn" sprouts from singles blades much moreso than from multiple blades. But a good single blade razor with a quality single blade can give you that satisfaction men look for from a close shave. These Bevel blades are not particularly expensive but seem to be on par with the ones I usually get from Merkur which are perhaps more well know. Single blades are generally less expensive, but you won't get as many shaves out of the blade and they are particularly difficult to manage under the nose or along the neck. Bevel advertises that their blades are coated specially to eliminate tug and I would agree, at least for the first few shaves with a blade. Regardless of the blade, however, the key to a close shave is the prep...not the shaver or the blade, in my opinion.
I always feel bad giving a negative review, so I make sure to try the product a few times and make sure the issue wasn't on my end. Unfortunately, these blades are just TERRIBLE! I am a woman who has been using safety razors exclusively for YEARS and never had a problem before. My husband who uses both safety and straight razors tried these as well and gave up. He said he would never touch these again. I am going to break down our issues below. *Thin - these blades are super thin, and that's not a good thing! They bend and flex when you really don't want them too. I couldn't get them to actually cut hairs because they were simply bending over the hairs and then cutting nothing. *Time - It took me about half an hour to shave my lower legs. I can usually get that done in about 5 minutes with my other blades. Super annoying! I kept having to go back over areas again and again because these blades weren't cutting anything or only a few hairs. My regular blades can cut through an entire strip of hair in one pass with no stragglers. *Reaction - Now, I am not sure if this is from the metal, the packaging, or something else but my skin went bright red and irritated in several spots and I have never had that reaction to blades before. I have used several brands before settling on my regular one and none of them did this. I am allergic to nickel, so I don't know if maybe there are traces of nickel in these??? I admit, I am not sure what is causing this. I went back to my regular blades just after using these and I didn't have that reaction again so it had to be the blades. *Bounce - these kept skipping and bouncing all over the place, not a pleasant shave at all! I got a bunch of little nicks from this and I don't usually cut myself at all. This didn't help the efficiency of the blades either. My husband said this is what made him quit. Trying to get delicate areas around his neck with these blades was impossible and dangerous. He cut himself a few times because the blades don't glide over the skin. We both use shaving soap and brushes so there shouldn't be an issue there. *Blank blades - These blades have nothing on them at all, no writing or anything. Trying to keep track of which side was used or not is just impossible. I am used to my regular brand having numbers on the corners so I know if it was flipped or not. *Not a close shave - Usually after a shave the skin on my legs is very smooth. After using these I had rough spots where it obviously didn't cut the hairs very close to the skin. Repeatedly going over those areas didn't help at all. Nothing changed. This shave does not even last a day for me, and not even half a day for my husband. He can usually shave once a day and be fine. That's the bulk of our issues. Neither of us will use these blades again. If you have any questions for either of us please comment or ask a product question and we would be happy to answer it for you. I'm sorry to have to put up a bad review, but I really feel these blades are terrible.

Great blades and quality, I have had less ingrown hairs since using these blades. Anytime I go back to a regular razor when I run out of bevel razor blades, I break out and my skin feels way different. I have smoother and less blemished skin when using bevel razor blades. It has been the only razor blades I use for at least 1 year.

Love this razor and blades are easy to change out. Took me a couple shaves to get used to the weight of the razor, but I tend to be hard on my skin when I'm shaving and letting the weight of the piece do the work is a great reminder to take it easy. Blades are super sharp. Will definitely keep purchasing! Oh, and the recovery gel is the best I've found!

The Bevel shave kit is the best. All natural hair care products that has your skin feeling soft after a shave. Even skin tone, no nicks or skin irritation, and no razor bumps

The blades are what I would call "very good" when it comes to making the cut that I can be satisfied with. They are just too hard to get to because of the website. There is so much security on the website that maybe the people who designed it make it hard for Bevel employees to have easy access. I never receive any opportunities to save money unless I search for them online.

Using the bevel safety razor has become a sacred part of my routine. Cultivating skill and using quality products, I now have a new respect and appreciation for my shaving process. Thank you Bevel!
Love the closeness of the shave. The blades retain their edge longer than the ones that I used previously.

love all of the products

Best blades, them make the cleanest shave with no nicks or bumps. The razor handle is a bit too long and wish it had grips or groves on it to make it more user-friendly.

I got horrible razor for 25 years and couldn't figure out why. I took a chance trying out Bevel products. It made sense that the multiple razor blades cut too close to the skin and cause razor bumps! Using Bevel, I don't get razor bumps!

The blades are what you'd expect. Using them once also helps by using the sharpest blade possible. I'm not excited about the number of blades provided for the price. At launch of bevel it seems the price has increased and the number of blades reduced (the sale of the company?). I'm on the subscription plan and just received four packages of each product in my subscription. Save money on packaging. I will continue to use the product because it's great!

Since I started using Bevel Razor Blades, I have not had razor bumps. I would recommend these to anyone willing to have a new experience!

My husband liked these products! He had the shave kit and it really did well on his face. He did still get bumps but other than that the results were good. It's of good quality. Thank you!
