I get my hair colored about four times a year, so it's pretty damaged. The first thing I noticed upon opening the Biolage Strength Recovery Shampoo is how wonderful it smells! It is a mild scent that is calming and pleasant. When using it in the shower, I noticed that it lathers very well and it rinses out clean. After using it the first time I noticed that my hair felt really clean - all of the buildups from other shampoos, dry shampoos, and hair products were lighter. My hair was smoother and soooo soft. After using it multiple times my hair feels softer, smoother, and stronger! I feel like my split ends are even looking better. Love this product and will continue to use this!Most Helpful Critical ReviewJust okayThis Biolage Strength and Recovery Conditioner has some good points, but is overall "okay". I like the way it smells, it has a light salon/high end scent to it. I like the way it feels, it made my hair soft. Unfortunately I didn't notice much of a benefit or a "wow" factor. My hair was soft and felt nice, but for me this product doesn't seem to do anything to set it apart from any other brand of conditioner. It almost looks like to made my hair more dull. So, 3 stars because it is decent and it didn't cause any harm. I am grateful I was given the opportunity to try this product but I will not purchase this in the future. I would, however, be open to trying different products from Biolage. Mostly just a "clean" type of scent. It also cleans my hair very well. It makes fantastic suds and rinses clean. It doesn't leave a heavy residue or anything of that nature. I also feel like I don't need a lot of this Shampoo to wash my hair well. It seems to disburse throughout my hair really well. Some shampoos my hair seems to just absorb and I require A LOT of those shampoos. Not so with Biolage!! I can distribute the shampoo through my hair pretty easily without having to keep going back to the bottle for more. I use around 1 half dollar sized amount to get thru my hair. Also--- While this Shampoo was made to strengthen hair--- IT MADE MY HAIR GROW! I decided that I would use ONLY this hair care system for about a month or so, to see how it worked on my hair. During that time-- my hair grew VERY fast. I didn't know until my hairdresser said--"Your hair grew a lot in 6 weeks!!" It was then that I started to think about where my hair length had been in August, and I realized that she was right. My hair grew a little over 2 inches or so in just about 6 weeks or so. It amazed me!! I love the shampoo-- and if there were only 2 items I would buy, it would definitely be the Shampoo & the leave in spray. This is definitely a Shampoo I will continue to buy. I'm not sure what it's supposed to smell like, but it's almost perfumey. The scent is light enough not to overwhelm but is just enough to satisfy my senses when washing my hair with it. It's just lovely. The bottle is an unusual shape, but it doesn't take up too much room, so I don't mind. The shampoo has a good consistency and works up to a rich lather. It seems to clean well and leaves my hair feeling soft and smooth. I really like it. This is my favorite out of Biolage's strength recovery products.
