I am very picky about what I put on my skin because I have extremely sensitive skin that gets red and irritated just by looking at it in the morning, let alone trying new products. Anyways, I ordered and received this little (but definitely a decent amount given how much product is being use) glass jar and gave it a try. I FELL IN LOVE!! After my first application I was very pleasantly surprised so I kept with it for a week. Then two. And now here I am, a month plus deep, and my skin is glowing. It's so soft and it does not cause any irritation whatsoever. It's rich yet light weight, and sinks in beautifully. Don't sleep on this!! Or you know, do if you want to wear it at night. But get this!!!! TLDR; great product, does what it says. That cream was such a perfect texture...almost no scent, absorbed right in and most of all did not irritate me or cause breakouts. I receive samples of this new cream only to find out this has replaced that. My first thought was ok maybe it's better. First off the smell is weird and there's nothing worse than disliking a face cream scent and then still having to smell it an hour later. The texture I can only describe as feeling like heavy silicones and it just feels like applying a light waxy substance that doesn't fully absorb. The product contains a lot of shea butter which normally clogs my pores like crazy so we'll see what happens with that but as of right now I can't use this product because I can't get past the smell and feel if it. Please bring back the drops of youth cream! You can't say this product is an improved version if it's nothing like the other product. It will now take me years again to find a replacement as good as that cream. I want to wash this off my face as soon as I put it on. I had terrible hormonal acne from pcos that worsened with birth control. I found the drops of youth cream and finally was able to significantly improve my acne. I ran out and had to try the new edelweiss cream and my acne started coming back. I tried it for a month and my face looks horrible. I stopped using it for about 3 days now and my face is finally cleaning up even though it's my time of the month. If you struggle with acne, cystic or hormonal acne, don't use this product. I'm so disappointed they stopped making the drops of youth cream. That product was the best. This edelweiss cream is nothing like drops of youth. The texture is like a thick cream and the smell is not great. My face feels great yet dry after. This product is not it! I've been using the Edelweiss Bouncy Night Mask, and I've been loving it. So, I thought I'd give this Intense Smoothing Day Cream a shot. I used it for about a week. So, it definitely made my skin smooth, hydrated and actually incredibly even-toned and way less red... in certain areas. Other areas, not so much. I broke out on my cheeks and between my eyebrows mainly which was a bit unusual for my pattern of breakouts (usually nose and chin). Maybe it was just skin purging? I don't know. It made my t-zone slightly oily but I didn't break out in those areas. So, I stopped using it and those breakouts are clearing up. I know it's not described as non-comedogenic but I thought I'd take a chance anyway. I would really love if The Body Shop tested more for comedogenicity.
