I bought the light and the medium because I'm in between light and medium and you can't be beat the price. I thought I might mix them. But for summer I'm probably only going to use Medium. The light is definitely warmer and the medium is definitely more neutral. I apply this with a stippling type brush and it applies very smoothly. It sets down and wears very well. My summertime routine tends to be just sunscreen with powder to take down the glow and set it. My face is a lot lighter than my body so it needs warming up. I then apply this bronzer over top of the powder and it works great. I don't have young skin. I'm close to 60 and cream products tend to work well. The medium looks dark but it sheets out in application. Just use a light touch and you can build it up. I highly recommend this bronzer.Most Helpful Critical ReviewBummed. Beautiful formula, bad shades.The formula is fabulous. Not even just for the price, but in general. Formula-wise, it is basically ideal. However, the shades are atrocious. Neither shades 'light' nor 'medium' are remotely workable for my light-medium olive skin. Shade 'light' is so yellow, it doesn't look like a bronzer. It hardly shows up and just makes my face look extra yellow! I don't even have a tan atm and it still doesn't show up on me. It gives zero definition. Shade Medium, on the other hand, gives TOO MUCH definition and shows up WAAYY too intensely. It's muddy in tone, super unflattering. Makes me look unnatural and unwell. It's a cool, dark brown with an orangish-red undertone and a GREY overtone. So odd! Both look awful on my skin! Such a shame because the shade light blends seamlessly and quickly. Medium is tricky to blend due to the intense level of dark Pigment. It takes a lot of finesse and thought to achieve a somewhat blended look and still, it never looks seamless. If the light shade were darker and had more reddish-brown Pigment to offset the yellow, and the medium were paler and more golden to offset the concrete grey, both could have worked great for me. Alas, neither does. I only use medium and dark shades of Bronzers in other brands, so this was quite surprising. It's not often that a shade range can so successfully upend the positive effects of an otherwise fantastic formula. But, this bronzer is fantastic because it blends really easily and the color is just right for my light skin tone for that 'sun glow' look (I got shade light). I'm not generally a fan of scents, but the light perfumy smell of this doesn't bother me and dissipates when on your face. A friend recommended I try the Chanel or Nars bronzers, which I did in the store. These two and the Revolution bronzer are pretty similar.
