I've suffered from cystic acne in the past and this didn't cure it (going to a Romanian esthetician did that) but it's been keeping my skin super fresh and flowing along with the tea tree oil face wash I use and once a month glycolic peel/facial that I get. It's an inexpensive way to keep your skin looking amazing in-between peels/facials. There seems to be some misunderstanding with some of these reviewers on here- this isn't a full on 'peel' like the thicker glycolic peel I get from my esthetician- I don't know why some people think that's what it is- it's definitively not marketed that way. If that's what you're looking for, I suggest you consult a professional. Like any OTC product, this will not cure your acne, cystic acne, dark spots, or clogged pores, but it is an amazing alternative that keeps your skin looking great in-between treatments. Or if you don't need serious help and you just need a boost to your usual face wash/serum/moisturizer this product is definitely worth the money. I'd suggest trying it out and using it 3X a week. This in conjunction with my facials has worked wonders. I'm 38 with no dark spots, no breaks outs and no wrinkles!Most Helpful Critical Review"Clever Marketing" - GimmickyIt is indeed very impressive on the outside with the 32% of the 7-acid blend of AHAs/BHA/PHA. However, after trying it, I can safely say that Clinique did stay on the safe side, rather than taking chance on their costumer's complaints of irritation after using such a high (salon and Derm.) strength acid product. Due to the very high amount of alcohol, the product will barely have time to stay. let alone penetrate into the epidermis. It will be actually undetected without having any (major) effect. A product with 1% AHA would be able to deliver the same result as this one. Since regulations demand that the weight of raw-materials that go into the product at production that creates the ingredients listing (rather than what is actually left in the product), makes it possible to have this impressive array of acids but in reality having a very mild and safe product. Where I think it is disappointing for us consumers, is that one has purchased the product on false premises. The Lancome Clarifique Face Essence with its 3% Glycolic Acid does deliver more after application than this product from Clinique. Price "seems" to be attractive, however, it is only 30 ml (1 o.z.) for 34 USD. Lancome Clarifique Face Essence is 150 ml (5 o.z.) for 95 USD. As we can clearly see, the product from Clinique is a much higher priced one. I find this product an excellent example of "clever marketing" and that's about it. It did not deliver on its promise (it did not irritate my sensitive skin either). It did basically nothing even when applied in higher quantities directly on the skin. I am actually very disappointed with the ELC for creating this product and marketing it as something entirely different to what it really is: An extra step of alcohol in the skin care routine. I had bumps on my chin and after using this product a few times, I discovered underneath the layers of skin were long, ingrown hairs!
