It came in well packed. Everything you need for DIY hair color in one box. The box includes Protect, Activate, Color, Treat, Erase and gloves. This product is vegan, cruelty-free, gluten-free, and ammonia free. I've got the permanent Almost Blonde haircolor. And my current hair color is dark brown. This is easy to apply. Well... my husband was kind enough to help me, so I'll have my hair evenly colored. Make sure that you're wearing something that you don't mind the stain to stick. Or drape a dark towel around your shoulder. Protect is the step one in the process. This is to apply the color block barrier gel to the skin along hairline and ears to avoid the stain. Second, squeeze the entire tube of Color 2 rich cream pigment into the Activate 3 nourishing color developer bottle. Replace the nozzle cap to the bottle. Third is the time to Activate. Shake the Nourishing Color Developer with the Color Cream until they're fully combined. Put on the gloves and start to apply on hair. You'll have to wait for 35 - 45 minutes. In My case, I've waited for 45 minutes before washing it.Fourth step would be to Treat it. You first need to wash your hair, wait until the water is clear or you can also apply your shampoo. Wash it off and squeeze out the excess water before applying the Post-color treatment mask. Like other hairmask, you have to wait for 5minutes, before rinsing it off. The last step would be Erase. With the use of Stain removing cleanser, Erase the stain from your skin and any stained areas. It works in removing the stain off my skin, but didn't really work on our sink. Overall, this is a great kit for a DIY hair color at home if you're avoiding the salon or just doesn't have time for an appointment. And I'm loving my hair now. The only thing that didn't work I'd say is the stain removing cleanser. So make sure that you're using something a dark towel or maybe a paper towel in the work surface.Most Helpful Critical ReviewDisappointing Gray CoverageI was so excited to try IGK's Permanent Color Kit because they are a cruelty free brand and the product is clean and vegan. My normal hair color is dark brown and I tried the color Back to Brown (5N). To be honest, I had gotten kind of lazy with covering my grays (which somehow seemed to multiply rapidly during the pandemic), so I was in dire need of coloring my hair.The first thing I noticed was that my kit didn't include gloves, which must've been a mistake since the instructions specifically say to put on gloves before applying the color. Since I didn't want to have my hands stained dark brown, I ended up having to ruin a pair of rubber kitchen gloves, which ended up being pretty bulky and cumbersome during the process. The kit also didn't include an applicator brush of any kind, but thankfully I happened to have a spare applicator brush from an old dpHUE hair color kit because there's no way I could work the color through my hair with just the bulky rubber kitchen gloves. My grays are pretty stubborn so I left the color on for over an hour (the instructions say 35 mins but 45 mins for stubborn grays).Aside from the color, the kit included packets of Protect Color Block Barrier Gel, Erase Stain Removing Cleanser, and Post-Color Treatment Mask, which were nice touches. However, the instructions say to cleanse with your favorite IGK shampoo before applying the Treatment Mask, so I was confused why they didn't include a sample packet of shampoo as well. I didn't have IGK shampoo on hand at home so I used a different brand of shampoo for color-treated hair instead.Unfortunately, the end result was pretty disappointing. Despite letting the color process for over an hour, the grey coverage was awful. I don't know if having to use bulky rubber kitchen gloves was to blame, but I could still see plenty of grays peeking through immediately after I completed the process, which you can see in the before and after pics. The missing gloves, lack of applicator brush and shampoo packet are inconvenient but nothing I can't work through. However, when I don't even have complete grey coverage afterwards, there's no point even using this product. I only used one box, but my hair is shoulder length yet pretty thick and i even had extra product when applying. If you have longer hair i would still recommend two boxes from personal experience. The color is adorable if you want some accented color in your hair or just to spice it up. Not exactly the deepness the pictures advertise but still very cute and noticeable. I have yet to see how it lasts but i would definitely recommend this hair dye. It didnt make my hair feel gross and heavy either. The dye also doesnt stain instanly on countertops or skin.
