The bristles were always too short, too stiff, or too wide-set to do anything to fix surface snags while leaving big knots closer to the scalp. I have super straight, fine hair that gets as tangled up as a pile of necklace chains just by looking at it the wrong way, so I'm always looking for ways to prevent having to spend time tediously pulling individual strands out of knots to avoid losing hair or having to cut out particularly stubborn knots. Using a wide tooth comb while my hair is still damp helps a lot but throughout the day, I need something to take care of small snags before they become problem spots. The Tangle Teezer is unique in that it has both long and short bristles interspersed throughout the brush, which helps to get the core of tough knots. The package says it's effective on both damp and dry hair. I tried it on damp hair after showering and to be honest, it wasn't as effective, but on dry hair it is AMAZING. I never really understood the hype behind a hairbrush but I completely get it now. I've noticed I'm losing a lot less hair now, particularly while in the shower. The brush is the perfect size and length and feels really comfortable in my hands (it doesn't make my arm tired while brushing). It also comes in the prettiest pastel shades (I have a mint green shade called Jade Lagoon) and I can't wait to try the rest of their line. I love that they have specific brushes geared to different hair types. The Fine and Fragile brush really is super gentle on the hair. I never feel any pain on my scalp when I encounter a knot like I do with other hairbrushes.Most Helpful Critical ReviewGentle hair brush!I was lucky enough to get a Tangle Teezer brush in the vox box program! For some reason hair brushes are kind of fascinating to me and I enjoy trying new ones! I like the minty aqua color of this one, and the tiny bendy bristles on my fingers. It's incredibly lightweight, with an ergonomic handle, which is nice. I don't actually brush my hair every day, since I have curly hair. I most often brush my hair before washing it or dying it, or occasionally to assist in smoothing out an updo. I do think I like my original wet brush better, because it seems to be a little bit stronger and can get through the hair more quickly. This one is so gentle that it actually struggles with the tangles and I have to go over them a few times. I do think that someone wanting an incredibly gentle brush would like this. It probably does a better job to prevent breakage and hair pulling because of how gentle it is. I think I would have liked it better in my childhood when I struggled more with tangles and had much longer. The sound of the bristles is beyond satisfying. It did get a little hung up in my hair. My hair is very corse, but medium-thin due to health concerns. When I first used this on my wet hair I didnt think it was going to do anything because it didn't seem like it was even getting the whole way through. After a few strokes, I was amazed. No tugging, no pulling whatsoever. I always detangle before I shampoo but my hair just gets so tangled because of how fine it is. This detangled it faster and more gently than anything I've ever used. The bristles are tapered too instead of having the little ball things on the ends so it's really easy to clean too. Bristles are really flexible, tapered and alternate between short and long lengths. Doesn't get those annoying little lint balls stuck in it. It's also super lightweight, almost to the point that I wasn't sure if it would even be sturdy, but it really is! Highly, highly recommend for fine hair that easily tabgles like mine. It always worked fine, but I needed a new brush and decided to try something new. Insert the Tangle Teezer for fine hair!!! I have collarbone length thin, fine hair and I am OBSESSED with this brush. I use it after showering once my hair has air dried a bit. It seriously glides right through all my tangles (and I have a lot of them). My hair feels so smooth after using it. With tangle teezer brushes, you can easily remove lose hairs and wash it and let it dry and know that it's ready to be used for next time. Also, super gentle on my scalp and detangles without pulling hair. Definitely would recommend it.
