I'm so disappointed in this product. I really wanted to love it! There are a few good things....the packaging is great, the 360 degree 9 foot swivel cord and it looks nice and feels nice in my hand. The cons far outweigh those items. First, there is no indicator that it is ready to use. No beeping sound or color change. You just have to wing it. I also don't like the limited heat settings. It's supposed to be for dry or damp hair but there is nothing about that in the directions. My current straightener is a dual one as well and the heat setting vary based on if your hair is dry or damp. I tried this one with damp hair and the setting I use while it's dry seemed way too hot. For the price of this I expected it to be better than my current one that cost 5 times less than this one. I have to say that this straightening iron is really impressive. I have waist length thick hair that has a slight wave and tends to frizz and I can have my whole head pin straight within ten minutes. The plates on the iron are big enough that I don't have to use tiny sections - I'm able to straighten a good amount of hair in one pass. This iron has a nice long cord with a swivel at the end so I can easily move about while doing my hair. I own a similar iron that I've had for at least five years that I always end up turning off accidentally due to the placement of the power button and I was disappointed to see that this iron has a similar placement. However, they seem to have improved this function in that you need to press and hold the power button to turn the iron off. It's definitely an improvement over my older model (I still LOVE my older version - the power button was my one gripe and it was really due to user error.) I like this straightener. It doesn't get as hot as other's I have used but that's probably good for my hair. I like that i can increase the temperature and there are multiple levels. Even after my hair being in a ponytail for a while, this straightener is able to flatten the bump left behind. I have tried to use it to curl my hair but I am not skilled enough to do that. The heating surface goes all the way to the edge so it probably works well for curling. I do dislike that feature also because I have burned my ear and forehead a few times. It arrived in a heavy duty box and the flat iron it is very durable. It has a sturdy feeling and is heavier than some other brands I've used in the past. The iron plates are wide and very smooth. The color is a pretty blue, with a sheen to it. My hair is medium to long in length with some natural natural wave to it. The flat iron has different temperature settings. I used the 340 degrees. I only had to go over each section twice. The style plates are smooth and did not pull on my hair. This iron makes my hair so shiny and smooth. I feel as if I have a professional product in hand. It has a lock on it which keeps the plates closed together. This is a nice feature and works great it stores nicely and compact. I've noticed that I don't need to set the heat as high as my usual ceramic straightener. It also doesn't leave my hair with any burning smell which I believe is because of the vents. I also hadn't used a 1.5" straightener for a while, I use a 1 inch typically. I don't find the size to be too bulky and I still have nice control. See picture for size comparison. My only complaint is that it seems to grab the ends of my hair. I've never used one bigger than 1 inch so was excited for this larger 1 1/4 size. It did make me be able to do my whole head faster which is awesome. I wasn't sure if it would allow me to get as close to my head as a 1 inch, but I had no issues with that! I love how well it holds the hair as it glides over it, it feels super secure and you don't have to go over the same hair section multiple times. I also love how there are different heat settings. I of course crank it to the max hottest setting, but the lower heat setting would be great for someone with thinner hair. I'd heard of Babybliss pro but never tried, and I'm a customer for life now. I will start with the pros: This iron is sleek and the packaging is desirable, in terms of presentation I am pleased. This iron is lightweight which is nice, it has a long cord which gives me plenty of room to look at my hair from different angels while styling. The heat up time is quick and my hair stays straight all throughout the day. It doesn't pull my hair out and glides easy. It didn't damage my hair. I've received several compliments on how great my styling looked throughout the course of this last week. Cons: The only issue I had was that the cord wasn't staying in the wall very well. I tried different outlets to assure that it wasn't just a problem with the outlet, but it happened on every outlet. In turn, I had to bend the electrical prongs to get the cord to stay in the outlet. All in all though, I would purchase this product and I would recommend it.
