The blades also very sharp and got a nice style hair cut.Most Helpful Critical ReviewShredding some HairI used the Conair Home Haircutting Kit on my head and body to trim up and get rid of some hair. It is an easy product to use and I have similar products already that I use. It is clean and new which is better than what I have, but did the same job as my old faithful that is my go to. If anything, it wasn't as powerful and precise at getting through the thick parts without having to go back over many times to get the job done right. It is a 20 piece set, but you could get by with a 5 piece set and do away with all the junk they put in there that will never get used. The 55 total settings seem a bit much for a do it yourself trim at home and the color code is easy but guys won't spend the time worrying about that. The clippers are obviously lower in quality than a professional set, but that is expected. Occasionally snags long hair, but slowing down and using a higher # guard helps immensely. Does a comparable job to a chain salon short haircut. The scissors and comb included are cheap and useless, and the cape is pitiful, but I didn't buy the clippers for the accessories. This kit is the perfect option for a family or even for pets. The kit comes with 10 combs to choose from depending on the length you want and you can adjust the taper control as well. I believe you have 5 setting to choose from. What I really like is that the blades are self sharpening. I've had several other kits that were nice but over time, the blades did become dull after about a year. This kit certainly seems to be higher quality than others in the same price range. For those that have not cut hair before, you can't mess things up with this kit. The instructions are straightforward and the trimmer itself has each comb's length as a quick guide. Highly recommend for husbands and their kids.
