I used other scalp products by TMC and adored them, and with the reviews I didn't think I'd have a problem with this one. First off, it smells amazing and the bottle is great for application. Though, it left my hair incredibly greasy and weighed down on the roots and scalp. I'm curious to know how the other reviewers are using this product, but unfortunately I can not "style as desired" after application. I rinsed it out though it says not too, and I'm still in a grease pit over here. I'll have to wash my hair again today (nooooo) because of this. It is a little heavy to be used on my hair type (2B waves) daily, so I just apply the oil a few hours before I wash it. I haven't been using it long enough to notice overall growth, but the little hairs along my hairline have definitely filled in more. I've also noticed that my scalp is a lot less flaky. But you can certainly still use it for the most luxurious at-home spa treatment ever! First, I use a scalp scrub to remove any dead skin/product residue on my scalp, rinse, and then massage this oil all over my scalp. I then wrap a damp, hot towel around my scalp and let it sit for several minutes to steam. My scalp has never felt better! It is important to note you MUST shampoo TWICE if you have thin hair. Otherwise, you will look like you haven't showered in weeks. I also shampoo'd my hair with my head upside down to really make sure my roots were clean. As for growth, I'm not sure how effective this is, but rosemary is a main ingredient which does help hair growth.I love it as a pre-shampoo treatment!5Cairhuh from MilwaukeeI struggle to use this oil according to the directions, as it's a bit too heavy for my (and my daughter's) medium thickness, low-porosity, 2a-3b wavy/curly hair if I try to use it on my styled hair. Instead, I've used it as a pre-shampoo treatment that I brush through before washing our hair. For myself I apply it up to 24-hours pre-wash, but for my daughter I do it immediately before (to avoid leaving a fragranced product in contact with her super sensitive skin for too long). It works well either way. What prompted me to leave this review is that I just finished conditioning and styling my daughter's hair thinking, "Why is her hair drier and frizzier than normal?" I realized that I had forgotten to brush the oil through before her bath, and WOW did I notice the difference! As for the scent, well, my 4yo daughter loves the smell so much that she insists we keep it in her bathroom. I'm supposed to "say please" when I want to use it. That little punk stole it so she can open it and smell it when she's in there brushing her teeth! Haha! Haven't noticed a difference in hair growth, but I've been using various hair growth serums (but no minoxidil) for ages and this seems to be on par with any others I've tried.Thick, but worth it4Liv from MAI agree with some reviews that it is thick, however, that just simply means don't use it on dry hair during the day, and instead use it at night, OR use it when you are putting your hair up. Also, an important thing to remember is wash your scalp twice in a row especially after using this product, and then only out conditioner on mids to ends. I use this product at night before a wash day and sometimes if I'm wearing french braids during the day. I also put it on parts of my hair line where it has thinned a bit.
