FAQs

A: This is a new gamified Experience that Ulta Beauty is Piloting, that will offer Participants the ability to complete Quests to accumulate “Stars” and/or earn Prizes for completing Quests.

A: You can sign up for the waitlist by entering your phone number in this web page https://www.ulta.com/innovation/GlamXplorer. Access will be limited to the first six thousand (6,000) participants who sign up/join the Experience waitlist.

A: You must be at the time of enrollment: (i) at least eighteen (18) years of age, or if you are under eighteen (18) or otherwise under the legal age of majority in the jurisdiction in which you reside, you must be at least sixteen (16) years of age and obtain your parent’s or legal guardian’s permission to participate; (ii) have a valid mobile phone/phone number on a phone that can receive SMS text messages; and (iii) be a legal resident and physically located in one of the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia.

A: No, GlamXplorer is a separate initiative.

A: No, GlamXplorer is a web-based Experience. You can access it through any web browser on your mobile devices or computer.

A: The Pilot is anticipated to run from October 2023 through approximately April 2024 but may be extended or reduced by Ulta in its sole and absolute discretion by updating the Experience Terms and Conditions.

A: This Experience is currently being piloted and will enroll only the first six thousand (6,000) participants who sign up/join the waitlist. If you are selected to participate from the waitlist you will receive an SMS with a link to access the Experience sometime in September-October 2023. Access is limited, so make sure to sign up as soon as you receive the notification.

A: Available Quests will generally be communicated to Participants via SMS text message, or by logging into the Experience. Details of the Quest, including requirements and timeframe, will be communicated in the messaging explaining the Quest. Prizes may only be available to Participants who complete the Quest within a certain time frame, or before other Participants – so we encourage you to complete your Quest as quickly as possible!

A: Quests will consist of different activities or actions that Participants can take, such as utilizing Ulta’s digital experiences, completing surveys, participating in on-site activations, reading specific content, or creating certain social media posts, among other items.

A: To sign up for a Quest, go to your dashboard, click on the Quest you're interested in, and hit "Start". Instructions will guide you through the process.

A: Completing a Quest requires following the specific instructions provided for each step of the quest. Once you complete all the steps, you complete the quest.

A: This Experience will offer Participants the ability to complete Quests to accumulate Experience points called “Stars”. Prizes consist of things such as limited time offers, gift cards, discounts, free trials, access to product previews, the ability to vote on creative decisions, or other Prizes that will be determined in Ulta’s sole and absolute discretion.

A: You may earn “Stars” or Prizes by completing Quests, as described above.

A: The more Quests you complete, the more Stars you may receive. Accumulating Stars will allow you to (A) “level up” in the Experience and gain access to other perks or benefits determined by Ulta; or (B) redeem Stars for Loot Boxes, each containing a randomly generated Prize.

A: Loot Boxes can be opened by accumulating a requisite number of Stars, as shown in the Portal. Each Loot Box contains a Prize. The Prizes available in each Loot Box are displayed in the Portal. The Prize awarded to a particular Participant is randomly determined at the time the Loot Box is opened.

A: Any Loot Boxes available to a particular Participant will be shown in the Portal. Once a Participant decides to redeem their Stars for a particular Loot Box, the Loot Box will automatically open, and the Participant will be awarded the Prize contained in the Loot Box. Generally, there will be tiered Loot Boxes available to each Participant, with each tier Loot Box requiring a different number of Stars to open the Loot Box. Available Prizes in a particular Loot Box will also be displayed in the Portal.

A: Yes, once a Participant opts to open a Loot Box, then their Star count for the purposes of the Loot Box calculation will reset. Participants may therefore opt to use their Stars to open a lower tier Loot Box, or they may opt to save their Stars to open a higher tier Loot Box. (Note, however, that opening a Loot Box will not affect a Participant’s Star count with respect to their ability to “level up” and receive access to various perks and benefits).

A: Yes. It is therefore the responsibility of the Participant to redeem any accumulated Stars for Loot Boxes, if desired, before the end of the Experience.

A: Available Prizes must be “claimed” in the Portal by the date specified on the Prize – if you do not claim the Prize by the date specified on the Prize, the Prize may no longer be valid.

A: Prizes must be “claimed” by the date specified on the Prize – if you do not claim the Prize by the date specified on the Prize, the Prize may no longer be valid. Generally, Prizes will expire, and therefore Participants are fully responsible for ensuring that they have used their Prizes in a timely manner in accordance with the terms and conditions that accompany that Prize. Prizes will be governed by the terms and conditions that accompany the Prize including: the Prize value, eligibility, redemption process, restrictions, expiration dates, and all other exclusions or limitations that may relate to the Prize. Any terms and conditions relating to the Prize and will be made available to the Participant upon receipt of the Prize.

A: After the Experience ends, there will be a fifteen (15) day grace period to claim any non-expired Prizes. After that grace period is over, you will no longer be able to access the Portal, Stores, or claim any Prizes. Any prizes claimed during the grace period are still subject to the terms and conditions that accompany the Prize.

A: You may cancel your enrollment in the Experience at any time by navigating to the Menu section of the Portal, clicking “Help”, and following the instructions on how to close your account.
