Most Helpful Positive Review Jack of all trades!
This device is the complete package. Dyson has truly outdone itself.
Here is what you get:
-Pre styling dryer or basically a mini supersonic hairdryer attachment
-1.6" Airwrap barrel x 2
-1.2" Airwrap barrel x2
-Firm smoothing brush head
-Soft smoothing brush head
-Round Volumizing Brush head
-A carrying case
This device is truly a Jack of all trades. Simply pop on each of the included attachments to either blow dry, curl, straighten or refresh your style the next day.
As someone that already owns and loves the supersonic hairdryer I thought there was no way the mini supersonic attachment could compete...boy was I wrong! I rough dried my hair in about 2 or 3 minutes.
After drying my hair about 70% of the way I wanted to give the round brush attachment a try. My hair is just above my shoulders, color treated and has a wave to it that is very frizzy and hard to manage. I've always been in awe of those that can do salon perfect blowouts at home. I, for whatever reason, cannot easily manage a brush and blow dryer at the same time. You need tension and the right amount of heat to smooth the hair and give it that volume. Enter the round volumizing brush attachment. Now I can easily do a salon style blowout at home with minimal effort. The round brush is grippy and really holds the hair in place while you create volume. I was so impressed how easy and fast it dried my hair without making it feel like straw. The end result was shiny, near salon quality blowout in a short period of time! So impressed.
The flat brush heads are great for straightening out or calming frizz. There is a firm and soft brush which each serve their own purpose. I haven't used these as much yet because the curling attachments are so fun to use! The firm brush head will give you more tension to straighten and smooth out your hair. Whereas the soft one will tame your hair but not necessarily straighten it all the way.
The real star of this device, and that's saying a lot, are the curling attachments. This is where the whole airwrap name comes into play. When I saw the curling attachments I was initially confused--there is no clamp or way to hold the hair to the attachment during styling...or so I thought. The curling attachments are like magic. Each size, large or small, comes with two attachments with arrows denoting which way it will wrap the hair--either curling it away or towards your face. You simply grab about an inch section of slightly damp hair hold the curling attachment towards the bottom of your hair and the airwrap magic does the rest. It will wrap, not suck, your hair around the curling attachment like magic. Hold it there for about 10-15 seconds and follow up with a cool shot of air to lock in your style and you either have a loser or tighter curl depending on the size of the attachment you used. I've seen other companies use a chambered device were you insert your hair to achieve a curl, which admittedly always scared me. I was worried it would burn or tangle my hair---not the case with the airwrap curling attachments. They do take a moment to get used to but once you figure them out you'll want to toss your curling iron!
I was able to blow dry and style my hair from start to finish in under 25 minutes. Typically I'd have to blow dry, then flat iron to get rid of any frizz that remained and then either add some waves with my flat iron or reach for my curling iron...which would take at least 35 to 40 minutes... and I still wouldn't get the body and bounce that the airwrap achieved! I also feel like this product is less damaging to your hair because it doesn't get as hot as my flat iron or curling iron.
The carrying case is awesome. My Dyson supersonic came with a pink carrying case and it's like tetris getting it back into the case, not so with the airwrap's case. There is plenty of room for each attachment and the case is high quality and sturdy.
Dyson has outdone itself!
Most Helpful Critical Review Returning Did Not Perform Well - Too Much Heat
I was on the fence between this product and the Dyson dryer, which my stylist uses on me and absolutely loves. Every time she uses the dryer on my hair it is fantastic. I recently had my hair done and asked the stylists in the salon their thoughts on the Airwrap vs. the Dyson Dryer as a purchase. They all agreed the Airwrap was difficult to use on clients and much prefer the dryer & they are professionals. So, being the curious person I am, I decided to inquire about it in-store and tried it anyway (against the advice of my stylist and others in my salon and my own better judgment). I disliked having to switch the barrels back and forth to keep my hair from drying too much on one side while I worked the other (work each side evenly in sections). The barrels were pretty hot to the touch even after the cold shot per instructions, the hair already worked was getting grabbed as I went along which made it a bit more frustrating. I tried the brushes and they have no grip for styling which made it difficult to get any volume with either paddle brush or the round brush. I don't see the dryer itself as a stand-alone tool since it is not made to style the hair alone. I don't think the full-blown set is worth the money and it is not that much more expensive than the others. For the money, I will return this and purchase the dryer and will get a lot more use out of it. The heat exposure from the tools is far too much for my hair and is higher than I would ordinarily get from my other high-end dryer that works my hair very quickly with a brush and a few quick hits with a flat iron and I am done (total normal styling time 12 min) Styling time with the AirWrap 45+ minutes. I have shoulder-length hair that is fine in texture but I have plenty of it. My hair curls very easily and has never had an issue holding curls or staying straight. Perhaps someone with another hair type that is looking for a different use would like a scaled down version of this, but it's not for me
Reviewed by 943 customers Only had a week, so far I really love it!
Nata from Ohio
I bought this a little over a week ago. I had been watching a ton of YouTube videos and decided I wanted to give it a try. I have t3 tools (dryer, curling wand(s), and straightener). So far I have used the round brush, firm smoothing brush, and larger curling barrels. I have to say, so far I'm really impressed. I have medium thick, boobie length layered hair. It does take a minute to get used to but otherwise it's really easy to use. The amount of volume and smoothness is unlike anything I have been able to achieve with the traditional tools. I round brush my hair at least once a week and I could never get it to do what I wanted and the style never held. One thing I was looking for was longevity of the style. When I used the round brush on the airwrap, the style and volume lasted for two days, it did fall a bit but it still looked really nice. The smoothing brush seriously straightened my hair and I was not expecting it took the way it did. I like it better than my flat iron. I got nice volume and it was super smooth. The curlers are so much fun to use. Just have to get used to how long to hold them, using the cool shot etc.
I do wish they offered a larger round brush. That would be a nice edition. And it does kind of stink you have to use it on damp hair. I don't want to wash my hair every day to style it...but so far the styles have lasted at least until the next day. Nice to not have a burnt hair smell! I gave it a 4 stars just for the price. It is a pretty penny to spend. I do think it is worth it if you are into doing your hair and do it pretty regularly. And if you have purchased pricier tools (like me!) the cost will come out to about the same anyways. Very interested to see how long the tool lasts until it dies.

I have had my eye on this for a long time and I was hesitant because of the super high price so I saved up my ulta points and waited for the 20% off to treat myself for my birthday. I have to say I haven't touched my old blowdryer, straightener or my curling wand ever since. This thing really does it all and it hasn't damaged my hair. It's super easy to get used to. I have long hair so I did purchase the long hair curling attachments and I think it's probably saved me a lot more time(the shorted attachments still work for me, they just take longer).
I love it ,its very easy to use and quick its worth your $
Maria from Mcallen tx
Im not very good doing my hair soo i thought i wasn't going to use it that often but noo its very easy to use i really love it
Kathyast from Miami
Dries your hair really quick, it feels sooo soft I apply a little bit of oil before drying it, the barrels are a little too short for my hair, the curls don't last long but it gives nice waves to my hair, I overall like it, will try to figure out how to make the curls last longer

Where has this dryer/styler been my whole life. Just amazing. It is worth saving up and purchasing.
I am obsessed
Tbprettyhair from Tampa
I am obsessed. I can quickly take my bra strap length hair from wet to Beach waves with one tool in less than 20 minutes. I love that the heat is constantly monitored and I'm not overheating my color treated hair. I recently purchased the long barrel curling attachment and love them!
Not for me
Shopaholic from Massachusetts
I have all of Dyson's other hair tools, but this one just does not work for me. I've tried all the different attachments for two weeks and not once did my hair come out looking anything like acceptable. This will be going back to the store.
Best Purchase of 2020!
Malorie from Charlotte, NC
I was skeptical about this product and because I listened to others say how horrible it was, I neglected to buy it and try for myself. Yes, it does come with an expensive price tag, but what luxury item doesn't? If you were to break down the price, it honestly isn't even that much more than buying traditional hair tools. It comes with a dryer head which in Ulta and other beauty stores hairdryers can run up to 300 a piece. It has 3 brush heads and when broken down, hairbrushes in beauty stores are often times 30+ dollars a piece. Next you get 2 sizes of curling attachments, nice curling irons run about 79 and up if you don't get them on sale.
Now all of the pricing broken down, I will get into specifics. In the beauty society, we are accustomed to a certain look, most often it is sleek and straight or controlled and curly. This hair styling product does not give the over processed results we are often looking for, it gives much more natural and more "blow out" type of look, because that is exactly what it is,which in my opinion is beautiful. It also doesn't give you smooth, tight, clinging curls, but instead it gives your hair volume, bounce, and body. Like normal curls, they do begin to fall and relax as the day progresses. Styling tip I've learned over the last few months of owning this product: If you want the curls to retain more of their shape, reshape them and pin them up and allow for them to cool completely before removing. 20 minutes or so while doing makeup and getting ready should do the trick. Then you can run a small amount of hair oil or smoothing serum to reduce the frizz and apply a light spritz of hairspray for extra hold.
Overall , I love my Dyson Airwrap and can't recommend it enough. I just wanted to give my honest review about it, as it was something that I wished I had read a long time ago. This is truly an investment piece but I know that I will not need another hair tool for a very long time.
Maybe Not for Me?
Julie A. from NY
I used it on Monday and my hair was very frizzy, although it was 100% humidity that day. I used it yesterday and my hair was neither smooth nor silky/frizz-free. Hot air brushes just don't seem to do it for my hair (wavy and thick). For straightening I prefer the regular Dyson hairdryer. I do have to say, though, the curl-attachments are fantastic. I had big, beautiful Charlie's Angels-style waves and it used much less heat than a curling iron or a flat iron would have used. It's such an expensive item, so I plan to keep playing around with it to see if I can achieve the glossy look that is demonstrated in the tutorial videos. Bottom line: try it and see.
NJGYPSEA from New Jersey
Seriously, I have never been able to make my hair look this good and in less time than it would normally take for me to just do a quick sloppy blow dry it is smooth and shiny and fabulous and it lasts! I have long, fine hair but lots of it- straight but normally waves and frizzes if left to it's own devices. Have only had this a short time and haven't even tried the curling attachments yet, but I'm excited to experiment. I did separately order the longer barrel curl attachment because my hair is waist length and I read the ones included with this set wouldn't be long enough.
Better than I imagined!!!
Christmasqueen from Orlando
Wow! That's all I can say! So easy to use (granted I had seen a lot of videos on YouTube about the curling part so I kinda knew what to do). The biggest surprise was that just by using this for the time I've had it, the color in my hair has BARELY faded at all! So much so that I went to my usual ulta (not the same one I bought this at) and one of the girls I know goes "did you do something to your hair??". I said no, but I bought a dyson! 100% the only tool I will use now! My mom and aunt keep begging to try it when they visit too (they're in their 60/70s). I would wait til the holidays to use a coupon then SNATCH YOURSELF UP A DYSON!!
PS...I live in Orlando....it's hot and humid EVERY DANG DAY! This helped soooooo much! With volume, with frizz, with shine, etc
Not worth the money
Daisy99 from Wisconsin
After reading all the great reviews I decided to purchase this item which was a huge disappointment. I have grown out thin permed hair and I was excited that this product came with multiple attachment heads to style your hair different ways. I thought it would save time but it did nothing for me besides waste my time. I tried each attachment multiple times with many different name brand styling products but the curls would not stay in my hair and the round brush just made my hair more frizzy the only thing that worked halfway decent was the dryer but it was time consuming. I returned this product and went with a Hot Tools 24k Gold Charcoal Infused One-Step Blowout #2551629 which saved a lot of time and worked so much better.
From a lifetime of bad hair days to everyday great hair days
Valerie from California
When I was younger I had way more hair but the last 20 years my hair has thinned. This hair dryer give my hair more body and lift than I have had in years! It takes a little bit of time to get used to it. I use the dryer attachment first with my head tipped over, then the round brush. I have shoulder length fine hair with bangs. I will buy again when this one kicks it. It is totally worth it to me. I am not stressed about how my hair looks when I go out. My previous hair dryers were T3 for many years. I think I still have 4 of them. They were good but don't come close to this dyson styler
I almost stole my daughter's!
Ninicat28 from El Paso
I tried my daughter's and almost took it home with me. I love this dryer and all the attachments. Curly, straight, wavy, or natural this dryer does it all and without the loud noise of regular dryers.
Fast styling, but lacking shine and moisture
Cate from MN
I love the styler but need to find products to use with it to help with moisture and shine. It dries out my hair too much with the current products I use. Those products worked great with a regular blow dryer or my Revlon Styler.
The Best Hair Dryer/Styler Ever!
JeansLover from SC
I have never been able to do a good job of styling my hair, but I can get my frizzy hair smooth with this dryer. Watch the videos- they are not long and they really show you how to use the different tools. I cannot say enough good things about this dryer. It is expensive, but it is definitely worth it to me. For the first time I actually want to style my hair- rather than dreading it.
Worth the investment
Becky from Arizona
I really questioned buying this based on the price. Then thought How long Ive had my blow dryer and other Dyson products and decided to do it. I had $130.00 worth of points so I used those toward the purchase price, and got free shipping.
I am happy I did. My hair is somewhat fine and silver. It generally doesn't hold a style more than overnight. Not with this. I've tried each of the attachments and they all do the job, whether I want it curled, straight blow dry or need volume, this does it. My hair has never looked so good. I'm thinking it's a good investment in me.

I love how my hair feels when I'm done. It's like I went to the salon and got a blow out.
Alyssa from Indiana
Only buy this if you're ready to fall in love with your hair. I have very fine hair, and lots of it, with some natural wave, and it's taken me 29 years to finally get my hair to a point that I can say I love it. I thought air-dried was my style, then front bangs, then side bangs, then a pixie cut, then a little depression, and finally I started to take better care of it and grow it out. I got really good at curling my hair with the flat iron and would get regular trims because the heat and pressure were so damaging to the ends. I got my first balayage this year and tried to continue styling it the same way, but noticed the heat was just breaking off the ends that had been lightened. My hairdresser recommended experimenting with ways to style my hair without heat. I decided to splurge on the dyson airwrap styler set with the coupon available during the gorgeous hair event and I could just cry I'm so happy. My hair is so soft and voluminous from the start of the day to the end, silky smooth and the ends are protected without the harsh heat and pressure. I love the different attachments and the travel case is super convenient. The price tag seems outrageous, but hair is an investment and this purchase has been worth every penny.
I wanted to love it.
Cruzgirl from Rockford, il
I wanted to love this. Definitly a learning curve to use. Watched many YouTube videos. Still having trouble getting beach waves and not big curls. Hair did not hold curl all day as with the curling iron.
Will keep tryin for a few more weeks, but may end up returning it, especially at that price.
absolutely love it!

Hands down some of the best money I have spent...
STRFKR76 from Charleston, SC
I have the Dyson hair dryer and was so impressed with it's performance that I was super intrigued when I saw this Airwrap Volume styler. However, Dyson isn't something you just go buying multiple products of...they pricey! But I took advantage of a 20% coupon and treated myself and boy am I so glad I did! This system is PERFECT for thin hair craving volume. It is one device that does it all. While I do love my hair dryer I will probably re-sell it on FB Market Place, as this product is all I really need. Having said that I do see somewhat of a small need to hang on to my curling iron, but that may change over time. My next Dyson purchase will be their stock.
Ang from Indiana
I bought this after using the dyson blow dryer for almost two years. I LOVED the blow dryer. I got this and used it once and returned it. While I did like the blow drying feature, i hated the way the curls looked and they fell out almost immediately. If I didn't have the blow dryer already I probably would have kept it but that seemed like the only feature of it that worked well. Disappointed overall sadly.
Not for African Americans

It does not work well for African Americans with coarse hair.
Wasn't sure that it would be love, but it was!!
Amber A from Tennessee
I didn't want to love it & especially for the price & the varied reviews. I was ready to return it if I didn't love it....but one use & I loved it! It was so much easier to use than the videos showed & I didn't think it could improve much on my already curly hair but it gave wide & voluminous curls that blended great with my natural curls. I felt like my hair was just out of a salon...but I did it! It dried my hair as it styled, a bit longer than just drying but well worth the bit of extra time. It was definitely worth the try.
