Most Helpful Positive Review Jack of all trades!
This device is the complete package. Dyson has truly outdone itself.
Here is what you get:
-Pre styling dryer or basically a mini supersonic hairdryer attachment
-1.6" Airwrap barrel x 2
-1.2" Airwrap barrel x2
-Firm smoothing brush head
-Soft smoothing brush head
-Round Volumizing Brush head
-A carrying case
This device is truly a Jack of all trades. Simply pop on each of the included attachments to either blow dry, curl, straighten or refresh your style the next day.
As someone that already owns and loves the supersonic hairdryer I thought there was no way the mini supersonic attachment could compete...boy was I wrong! I rough dried my hair in about 2 or 3 minutes.
After drying my hair about 70% of the way I wanted to give the round brush attachment a try. My hair is just above my shoulders, color treated and has a wave to it that is very frizzy and hard to manage. I've always been in awe of those that can do salon perfect blowouts at home. I, for whatever reason, cannot easily manage a brush and blow dryer at the same time. You need tension and the right amount of heat to smooth the hair and give it that volume. Enter the round volumizing brush attachment. Now I can easily do a salon style blowout at home with minimal effort. The round brush is grippy and really holds the hair in place while you create volume. I was so impressed how easy and fast it dried my hair without making it feel like straw. The end result was shiny, near salon quality blowout in a short period of time! So impressed.
The flat brush heads are great for straightening out or calming frizz. There is a firm and soft brush which each serve their own purpose. I haven't used these as much yet because the curling attachments are so fun to use! The firm brush head will give you more tension to straighten and smooth out your hair. Whereas the soft one will tame your hair but not necessarily straighten it all the way.
The real star of this device, and that's saying a lot, are the curling attachments. This is where the whole airwrap name comes into play. When I saw the curling attachments I was initially confused--there is no clamp or way to hold the hair to the attachment during styling...or so I thought. The curling attachments are like magic. Each size, large or small, comes with two attachments with arrows denoting which way it will wrap the hair--either curling it away or towards your face. You simply grab about an inch section of slightly damp hair hold the curling attachment towards the bottom of your hair and the airwrap magic does the rest. It will wrap, not suck, your hair around the curling attachment like magic. Hold it there for about 10-15 seconds and follow up with a cool shot of air to lock in your style and you either have a loser or tighter curl depending on the size of the attachment you used. I've seen other companies use a chambered device were you insert your hair to achieve a curl, which admittedly always scared me. I was worried it would burn or tangle my hair---not the case with the airwrap curling attachments. They do take a moment to get used to but once you figure them out you'll want to toss your curling iron!
I was able to blow dry and style my hair from start to finish in under 25 minutes. Typically I'd have to blow dry, then flat iron to get rid of any frizz that remained and then either add some waves with my flat iron or reach for my curling iron...which would take at least 35 to 40 minutes... and I still wouldn't get the body and bounce that the airwrap achieved! I also feel like this product is less damaging to your hair because it doesn't get as hot as my flat iron or curling iron.
The carrying case is awesome. My Dyson supersonic came with a pink carrying case and it's like tetris getting it back into the case, not so with the airwrap's case. There is plenty of room for each attachment and the case is high quality and sturdy.
Dyson has outdone itself!
Most Helpful Critical Review Returning Did Not Perform Well - Too Much Heat
I was on the fence between this product and the Dyson dryer, which my stylist uses on me and absolutely loves. Every time she uses the dryer on my hair it is fantastic. I recently had my hair done and asked the stylists in the salon their thoughts on the Airwrap vs. the Dyson Dryer as a purchase. They all agreed the Airwrap was difficult to use on clients and much prefer the dryer & they are professionals. So, being the curious person I am, I decided to inquire about it in-store and tried it anyway (against the advice of my stylist and others in my salon and my own better judgment). I disliked having to switch the barrels back and forth to keep my hair from drying too much on one side while I worked the other (work each side evenly in sections). The barrels were pretty hot to the touch even after the cold shot per instructions, the hair already worked was getting grabbed as I went along which made it a bit more frustrating. I tried the brushes and they have no grip for styling which made it difficult to get any volume with either paddle brush or the round brush. I don't see the dryer itself as a stand-alone tool since it is not made to style the hair alone. I don't think the full-blown set is worth the money and it is not that much more expensive than the others. For the money, I will return this and purchase the dryer and will get a lot more use out of it. The heat exposure from the tools is far too much for my hair and is higher than I would ordinarily get from my other high-end dryer that works my hair very quickly with a brush and a few quick hits with a flat iron and I am done (total normal styling time 12 min) Styling time with the AirWrap 45+ minutes. I have shoulder-length hair that is fine in texture but I have plenty of it. My hair curls very easily and has never had an issue holding curls or staying straight. Perhaps someone with another hair type that is looking for a different use would like a scaled down version of this, but it's not for me

So I knew I wanted this tool when I first heard about it, because frankly nothing Dyson has done is underwhelming in my experience. And I thought I can't even get a style at a salon with the Covid restrictions, so I splurged which was justifiable with the coupon . It's absolutely amazing, it's lightweight which is important for someone with carpal and cubital tunnel. I've only used it once, still haven't quite got down my technique, but my hair still looks and feels amazing! I can only imagine how much better it will look when I've got my technique better. It's well worth it, and so are you

I have been wanting to buy a Dyson for a couple of years but the price deterred me. It went on sale and I bought it. I can't believe how amazing my hair looks. It dries it quickly and leaves it frizz free. My hair is thin and frizzy. Before, I would blow dry my hair and then use a curling iron to attempt loose curls. The curls would fall apart after a couple of hours even after putting on a ton of hair spray: i used the Dyson small curling barrel. It was a little tricky to use. I need to practice the placement but I managed. I had beautiful bouncy frizz free curls all day and the next day. I didn't even use hair spray. A couple of coworkers commented on how good my hair looked. I am in LOVE with my Dyson!

I absolutely love this product! So easy to use and cuts your time in half of styling your hair. Well worth the money ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Not great for thin/fine, naturally curly hair
Chels from Fort Lauderdale, FL
I was so excited to try the Dyson air wrap. I will preface that I live in south FL, so it's hot and humid here. I also have naturally wavy/frizzy hair, that is very fine, which I'm sure does not help.
Before getting the Dyson, I used to blow dry my hair, use a flat iron on the root, and then curl iron my whole head, which was so much work and very time-consuming. The Dyson is supposed to combine all of those steps into one. I tried using the different brush attachments to smooth out the curly hair on my roots, but no matter which brush attachment I used, the root still had weird waves in it. The curls also came out SO tight at first, like Shirley temple, which I was okay with because I figured they would drop a little and then end up being the perfect curl. But within an hour of being out of the house, the curls fell out, and my hair just looked stringy.
Then I had the idea to just use the round volume brush to blow my hair out so it had the body and texture that I liked from the Dyson, and then us my old curling wand to ensure my curls stayed. Doing this made my hair look incredible, but I felt like I was totally defeating the purpose of the Dyson air wrap set.
For me, the price point and difficulties made this product not worth my while. I have returned it, and just bought the original Dyson hairdryer. I am hoping that it will give me the volume I loved, and will be less damaging as advertised.
100% Worth Every Penny

I waited quite some time to purchase this because of the price tag... but I am SO glad I finally pulled the trigger. This tool has transformed my process forever for the better. Shortens the amount of time you send on your hair, and holds the smoothness long after day 1.
Not to sound too dramatic... but this changed my life.

I have been using a volume brush and DryBar dryer for a few years. It has done a pretty good job. I live in FL and the humidity is ridiculous. I have baby fine hair, but a lot of it. On any given day, I would leave the house with smooth hair. By the time I got to my car... poof. It was worthless. I've spent thousands on products. I finally decided to jut do it. Try the Dyson Airwrap set. I had a 20% off coupon, so no better time than now. It is the best purchase I have ever made for my beauty collection. It is worth every penny. I use the volumizing brush attachment. It smooths out and shines my hair so quickly and easily. The best thing is ... no matter what product I use (gel, cream, etc.), the style lasts. I get a few little curls here and there, but in general the style really lasts. It really is like a blow out from my stylist every time I use it. I am in love and I want the whole world to know!

I use this Dyson air wrap maybe 2-3 times a week. I received this back in august. I have felt as if this is less damaging to my hair. the two attachments I use most are the brush attachments. it does leave my hair a little frizzy. but I bought a spray to help with that. overall a good item to have.

I debated on this for a while because it does cost alot. I love and use the sonic dyson with the brush and comb it came with and love it. I waited for a coupon offered at here(20%) and had enough points to make this around 200$ so I took the plunge. It arrived with in three days. (Amazing free shipping )I absolutely love it. If you follow the directions to dry your hair to damp status then chose the attachment you want for waves, straight, tighter curls etc it works effortlessly. You must pay attention to the arrows to get your curls in the correct directions, but the dyson does the actual work. I watched the dyson demo video and found it useful. This is a top notch quality product that gives salon style at home. Hair is soft, less frizzy and quickly styled . I save about 20 mins using this vs the dyson brush and dryer. I love that it has a carrying/storage case as well. When actually using this you pull a semi small section of hair out let the roller grab the hair, leave the heat on til it is dry and finish with the cool shot button for about 10 seconds, turn it off and slide hair out. That's it's. The brushes work great for a sleek straight look with optional curl/flip on the end. There is a difference in power btw the sonic original dryer and this dryer(less powerful) but that's ok because your using the attachments to finish the drying and styling. Is this worth the original price tag?. Maybe, depends how valuable your time is, how much you invest in actual styling your hair and would this eliminate or reduce salon visit for styles/blowouts etc.Personally I would say yes for me. I have naturally curly hair with balayage color. Also have some hair loss due to hypothyroidism. This def is less damaging vs using other items (dryer, large brush to straighten, curling and or flat iron). If you can save points and score a coupon do not hesitate you will be happy!
This is worth every penny

I was skeptical about buying this product because of the price point, but I truthfully think it's worth the money. My hair normally takes so long to dry and then gets very dry after but the time to dry has been cut in half, I don't have any issues with it feeling brittle after drying, and it has a beautiful shine to it! So if you're on the fence about buying this and have the extra money for it, please do it

This tool is the snap-diggity! I have thinning fine hair and it's stick straight. It's easy to use and has lasting results. I'm so glad I spent the money because it's worth every penny!!!

First of all...I am the woman who has tried every styling tool out there...my hair tends to frizz when drying and is of varied textures...I have never had the patience or talent to style it on my own and in a pinch I would simply pull out the flat iron or spring for a blowout for a special occasion. With this set I can go from towel dried to sleekly styled in no time with no frustration. For me, worth every penny...I finally feel 'finished' every day with very little effort!

Life Changing for a frizzy curly head of hair

I have struggled with blow drying my hair my entire life, I have a ton thick, curly, frizz prone hair. For years, I've been using a flat iron alone, destroying it my hair. For the first time in my 30 years of live I LOVE blowing out my hair. It looks AMAZING, and it is quick and easy. I didn't believe something like this could exist.
Don't waste your money

I first started daydreaming about this product about a year ago? A B/C list celebrity did a live video. I pulled the plug and purchased when my blow dryer broke and the two curling irons I bought this year were 'meh.' The curling attachments are on the short side in terms of the barrel. My hair is slightly longer than shorter length and I have to do tiny sections in order for the suction to grab the ends. Your hair needs to be wet for the best hold - when I've done damp hair or almost air dried it doesn't last as long. But the heavier the wet hair the smaller the sections because the ends are too damp/heavy to suck in. However, zero knots!!! Even when the suction pulls in more hair than I intended - comes out smooth. The two different barrel directions I still can't figure out before I put next to my hair. I'm a little nervous how long the dryer will last since the instructions are to "stop" the dryer to release so it's a lot of start/stop during my styling session. I made sure to get the warranty to be safe. I've used the other brush and dryer attachments each once and 1000% prefer the curlers. Once I brush it out it gives me the salon blow out waves I've always dreamed of doing at home. Without a brush! So far only once did I release the barrel when trying to turn off so I'd say the user experience is pretty easy/intuitive. I've impressed dozens of people when I tell them my styling came from a blow dryer - not an iron! My hair stays soft and wavy without hairspray!
Great concept /failed results!

Easy to use once I got h the process down, but unfortunately it did not hold a curl well & I have naturally wavy hair that hold a curl for days from a flat iron curling process. Returning product. Way overrated for the price.
The best hair dryer ever!!!

Using Dyson hair dryer is like having a hair stylist style your hair everyday.
Amanda from Florida
With very thick hair medium length it use to take me over an hour to do my hair. That is no longer the case now that I have the air wrap. It takes a few tries to get use to it but once you get it you look like you just left the salon every time you use it.
I love this hairdryer!

I was a little skeptical to purchase the Airwarp in the beginning because of the price. But I am so glad that I bought it. This product is an amazing and invention!! I am getting so many compliments about hair lately. I love Dyson products but I have to say that Airwrap is the best!!!!

I have been looking at this item for about 6 months, at least, but I was worried that I would not use the item after awhile. NOT SO! I love this styler! It is so easy to use, and there is virtually no learning curve. I have enjoyed the results from day 1.
