Comments about Chi G2 Ceramic and Titanium Hair Styling Iron:

Unfortunately I bought this iron twice because I thought the first one was defective. The heat settings would constantly lower every couple minutes and nothing was consistent. It kept pulling my hair and forcing me to go over spots again. My hair is very curly but it doesn't take more than three tries to straight a piece of hair, so a normal Chi is perfect. With this tool however, I found it kept lowering the heat settings and made it absolutely difficult to use.

I use this product several days per week. What is great about this product is that it is light weight, it has various temperature settings for all hair types, and the ceramic and titanium plates provide a smooth glide on your hair when straightening it. I really have not had any bad experiences with the product since my recent purchase.

Comments about Chi G2 Ceramic and Titanium Hair Styling Iron:

I have had two CHI's before but when my last one stopped working I decided to try this version instead. I thought the adjustable temperature would be a nice feature. My hair seems to be more dry like this straightener is frying it. I use this straightener on 350 or 360 usually. The original CHI which is not adjustable goes to 395 and it never damaged my hair. Also, about two months after I got this it started shutting off. It was too late to return to ULTA and so I am contemplating going to CHI about it. Sometimes it shuts off 5 or 6 times in 20 minutes. I don't know why it shuts off when I set the temp low. It shouldn't be overheating, although I will say I believe it gets way hotter than the temp it is set on. I wish I had gone with the original CHI like I had before.

Comments about Chi G2 Ceramic and Titanium Hair Styling Iron:

This straightener is absolutely amazing. I had always researched CHI straighteners and I had always wanted one but I never had enough money to get one. I always just bought drug store straighteners that were like $25 dollars. I had a 20% off coupon for this and I am SO GLAD I got it. It's the most amazing straightener I've ever used. You only have to go over your hair one time with this and it's completely straight.

Comments about Chi G2 Ceramic and Titanium Hair Styling Iron:

This works great after I use a round brush & blow dryer to straighten my hair. It also gets the waves out that I missed. I love being able to change the heat settings. Sometimes I need more heat than others but I never like to go any hotter than necessary.
The screen on my first one started flashing nonstop after only having it for a month or so. I exchanged it for a new one and haven't had any problems with this one after several months.

Comments about Chi G2 Ceramic and Titanium Hair Styling Iron:

After sadly discovering my 2" Chi Turbo died after 6 years of nearly every day use I began to start looking at flat irons again. I recently cut all my hair off and decided I wanted to go with a 1". Looking at all of the Spring Chi models, I saw this on an adjoining table. Sleek, electronic display, titanium ceramic plates and temperature adjustment (which many other Chi flat irons do not have and is important to me).

It comes with 3 preset heat modes for fine, medium or course hair (they are even color coded on the display blue, green and red!)which each are a higher temperature. You can also manually adjust the heat settings opting not to use a mode up to 495! My hair felt smoother and looked even shinier than with my last Chi because of the type of plates. I feel it evens helps a bit with humid climates.

Bottom line if you are looking for a great straightener I would most definitely look at this one. No hair pulling, easy to use, adjustable heat and it comes with a Chi heat pad which I thought was nice because I had always worried about laying them directly on my counter.

Comments about Chi G2 Ceramic and Titanium Hair Styling Iron:

I went against my better judgement getting another Chi. The first one I bought, I hated and sold to a friend. Wanting to invest in another high-end flat iron I purchased one of the Hot Tools and I loved it but, the plates didn't close so I exchanged it for this Chi at the suggestion of the salon. It's terrible...I can get better results with a cheap department store model. It's drying out my already dry hair (yes I use heat protectant spray), it drags on my hair making waves/lines in some areas and the temperature fluctuates on it's own. I put it on 425 and all of the sudden it's reset back to 350 even when I haven't touched any buttons. I also have to do multiple passes to get anything straightened and even then it's still not completely smooth. As for the extra long cord...it might sound nice but, it's constantly getting tangled and knotted. I will NEVER buy myself a Chi again.

Both have digital display and feature adjustable temperature settings. The main difference is that the G2 has ceramic plates and the Miss Universe iron has titanium plates (heats up faster, higher ionic charge for quicker styling).

                        A:

The main difference between CHI G2 and the original CHI styling iron is that the G2 features adjustable temperature settings so that you can customize styling by hair type, plus a higher maximum temperature, which is especially great for thick, coarse hair.

Original CHI: max temp 392 degrees F; nonadjustable heat settings

CHI G2: max temp 425 degrees F; 3 heat settings: fine hair, medium hair, thick/coarse hair
